At some point in the early a.m. overnight, it began to snow here in my part of north Surrey. This is the first 'snowfall' my area has experieinced this season. There was well over an inch of the stuff by the dawning of day. However, what was falling by then were very tiny flakes that were likely at risk of turning to rain.
Some rain did seem to intermingle if not dominate awhile later.
By dusk everything out there was very soggy, and it was clear there was snow melt at play, and had been throughout the day ─ even if there might still have been an inch of blanketing snow on the ground by dusk.
I still haven't motivated myself to set up the Christmas lights outside to form a glorious archway just before the front door. You can basically see what I intend in this photo from December 12, 2013:
The lights around the open carport are kept up all year, so they only need to be lit up. Ditto for those framing the outside of the living room window. But I don't want to light any of those lights until the door archway is set up.
Here's a better view of the open carport with its lights ─ the variety that blink ─ aglow:
I would hate to have to set up all of that before Christmas! Thankfully, all I need to do is plug everything on ─ it is that archway before the front door that will occupy me, and which I have thus far felt too lazy to attack.
All else I wish to bother mentioning in this post is that my wife arrived home shortly after dark yesterday, and she probably had to work this afternoon ─ the Thai restaurant where she is employed on a part-time basis closes for an hour or two in the afternoon, and then reopens at 4 p.m.
At any rate, she left here far earlier in the afternoon than she needed to in order to make that 4 p.m. start, so she probably had one or more errands she wanted to take care of beforehand.
My evening is almost upon me, so I want to perform some therapeutic bodyweight squats and then watch some T.V. If I have the time before my younger brother returns in the mid-evening or so, I may even risk tuning in a Christmas movie via our Android TV Box.
