Sometimes I become lulled into taking for granted that I have some vague merit or worth ─ or at least, potential.
But then I bring myself to reality by conduct like mine of this afternoon when I should have taken a so badly needed nap. My wife had newly left to catch a bus ─ perhaps to go to work at her friend's Thai restaurant; and my younger brother had left an hour earlier to ultimately resume his daily drinking somewhere.
He never emerged from his bedroom this morning until at least 9:30 a.m. It must be wondrous to be able to spend better 8½ or so hours in bed. My youngest stepson would know about that ─ I think he put in an easy dozen hours in the sack before he got up after his mother had left mid-afternoon.
I got to bed last evening at 9 p.m., but I rose after checking the time at 12:14 a.m. when my wife was coming to bed. I got some things accomplished here at my computer, but I was in bad shape. At one point what must have been a migraine aura set in and halted my ability to read aught here at my computer. I had to go downstairs and lie down in the darkened living room with my eyes closed for 15 - 20 minutes.
Fortunately, that seemed to resolve the symptom, and neither was I beset with the usual vague headache that almost always attends these assaults. However, I had been ─ and continued to be ─ affected by an occasional shooting pain alongside my skull that was intense enough to make me wince and ultimately to practically whimper because of its relentlessness.
I had worried that I was going to have to suspend my usual activities here overnight, but I held fast; and in fact, I was dismayed to discover that not only was I not returning to bed earlier than usual, but I was actually remaining up until nigh 5;30 a.m. At that point, my eldest stepson was readying for work and had usurped the bathroom here upstairs, so I had to go downstairs to the toilet in the boys' den area before getting back to bed.
Those shooting pains alongside the sides of my head and the base 'corners' of my skull continued intermittently for some time, but ultimately I did sink into some sleep and they had abated by the time I was conscious again.
As already inferred, I was up before my brother, but not by very much. As for my youngest stepson, he was showering when I first rose during the midnight hour, so he was probably to bed before 2 a.m. And if that is so, then he remained in bed for a minimum of 13 hours ─ how can a healthy young man (he is 23) manage such a feat? I can't manage a stretch of six hours in bed!
No matter.
I joined my brother at 10 a.m. after he was downstairs watching T.V., and we were to tune in ─ via our Android TV Box ─ Odessa Orlewicz's most recent two videos. The first was only around 4½ minutes in length and was of interest to my brother and I because we wish that we could afford to buy one of the discussed devices: Our Browns Gas AC50 Arrived And Here Is Our First time Using It!
I suppose that the expensive device is more correctly called an AquaCure® Model AC50.
There is a source in the States that will sell the device on a subscription basis of around $79 a month ─ U.S. prices, of course. But getting one of the devices from that source would no doubt involve duty and hefty shipping fees.
By purchasing one from the source I linked to, an arrangement has been made with Odessa whereby a special code can be used to knock off 20% of the list price, so that U.S. figure then becomes essentially what a person would pay in Canadian funds. And it is shipped from Ontario, and not the States.
However, I am unsure if the shipping is included in the upfront price.

Ron Vaillant was sounding the alarm about the threat posed if a Bill C-15 gets passed by the rotten (corrupt) Liberal government and its leader, our Crime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Anyone who owns real estate ─ especially out in the country or even the wilderness ─ needs to watch that interview. What if Ron Vaillant is correct about its implications?
It is already after 7 p.m., and I want to have a bath, so I must bring this post to a close.
I want to mention that the outside edge of my left foot is suffering some strain caused by the arduous shopping hike I underwent on each of Saturday and Sunday. The pain actually feels as if it is tendinitis, and I am almost inclined to diagnose my arch; however, that side of the foot doesn't really have much of an arch, does it?
It actually set in after Saturday's strenuous hike home of just over 2¾ miles bearing quite a load of groceries. As soon as I set off on Sunday afternoon for my second shopping expedition (I do not drive), I immediately realized that I had something of a problem with the foot.
Strained or inflamed tendons can evince tenderness for a darned long, long time; and they can worsen rather than improve because most of us cannot exactly give up using our feet.
However, I don't have any further plans to do any substantial walking until next weekend ─ and maybe not until Sunday. So that will give it a few days to recover, I suppose. I still will be doing my version of Hindu squats and also calf raises in the interim, so this may prove a tad exacerbating.
We shall see.
Had my wife not been home today, I might have attempted to spend time sitting out in the backyard in the sunshine, but the sky was often very hazy. I prefer a sharp blue sky for best solar effect. Otherwise, I feel like I am wasting time.
Okay, I must round up a little supper, and then have that bath. Maybe I will even have a beer first.
