I was unpleasantly awake well before my cellphone alarm chimed at 1:30 a.m. overnight to get me up to ready for my scheduled five-mile+ walk ─ I had checked the time about 20 minutes before, but elected to remain abed and rest as deeply as I could.
I felt nearly as if I was approaching development of an eyestrain headache. Consequently I have certainly felt better at rising for these outings.
When I was ready to leave, my fully clothed weigh-in sans jacket surprised me in a good sense, for I was just a shade above 180 pounds ─ I had expected to see 185 pounds or more.
It was 2:04 a.m. once I was outside the locked front door; the sky was clear.
Knowing my body weight upon stopping at the elementary school playground three or so blocks from here, I had expectations for what I needed to achieve, and damned if I did not match my latest personal record of my walk at that same time two nights earlier: 8-3-3-3-2-2.
The first two sets were pull-ups; the second two sets chin-ups; and the final two sets were pull-ups on a pair of gymnastics-style rings, and the final of those pull-ups was held at highest elevation for a strained 40-count.
Of course, I did a lot of heaving and leg movements in gaining the repetitions in the sets of pull-ups and chin-ups.
And further of course, I finished up with 14 full-range decline push-ups on a cement ramp.
I have little to report concerning the walk. Once, I did see a coyote just as I began walking along 96th Avenue towards 148th Street after departing Green Timbers Way (Google Map). Initially I had noticed a light patch on the dark pavement, and discerned that the 'patch' was moving my way.
Then I guess it noticed me and made a beeline for Willow Trail and disappeared into the darkness. I was a wee bit uncomfortable about having to pass by the dark mouth of that trail after that.
There were a number of aggravations over the course of my walk that disrupted my calm, every damned one of them being attributable to the infrequent street traffic that even at that time of night can be wretchedly vexing.
During the last half of my walk I believed myself to be making exceptional time, but I was inaccurate. It was 4:06 a.m. once I was back home outside the locked front door ─ the full walk had taken two minutes over two hours.
I wonder if much of that is due to the time it took me to wipe dry a jungle gym monkey bar when I was about to exercise earlier at the school? Everything was dry two nights ago, and I made it back home in exactly two hours.
My youngest stepson had still been up when I left home, but he had gone to bed in the interim. My wife was still not home.
My eldest stepson was to be rising around 4:40 a.m., apparently with another 6 a.m. 12-hour day shift in store at distant Tree Island Steel.
It may have been a little past 6 a.m. by the time I had returned to bed, and I rose anew a little less than two hours later. My younger brother managed to emerge from his bedroom just in time to get control of the T.V. a bit past 9 a.m.
I soon enough joined him once he had boiled up the water for our instant coffee; and when he invited me to activate our Android TV Box, I led us off with a fun 11-minute (11:50) video published two days ago to Rumble's AnitaKrishna channel: Talking Trudeau with Stef from Jimmy Dore!
Breaking down news about our House of Commons, Pierre Poilievre, Trudeau, Greg Fergus and others with American Podcast Giant, Jimmy Dore, with me, a Canadian former newscast director.
Recorded in June 2024
Oh darn it! I only now read the video description, so I did not realize that it was well over two months old. Thankfully it was as short as it was, and not some long waste of time.
Next I tuned in Odessa Orlewicz's hour-long (1:05:30) video published yesterday: Ronald Reagan CURED His Cancer WIth This. Massive Cover-Up. This Is A Must See Interview With John Richardson Jr.
https://rncstore.com/odessa
President Ronald Reagan used this alternative to cure his cancer because he knew it worked. The Cancer CURE cover-up & testing results FRAUD By Big Pharma Players. This vital information is being leaked even more soon... with what was once sealed up proof. Important Interview With John Richardson Jr. who has the papers. Please SHARE this information widely. I have just started eating 5 of these a day myself. No problems at all. This is a MUST SEE interview. This story/information is incredible.
Boy ─ even at Canada's Amazon, a pound of the organic kernels is NOT exactly negligible.
We were also to watch the 37-minute (37:44) video Wins of the Week Ep36 with Ted Kuntz published September 1 at Dr. Mark Trozzi's Substack. You will have to refer to the link for the video's content description ─ it is too vast to reproduce here.
I followed that video with a decades-old video on South Africa apartheid, but we only got about halfway through it ─ say, 11:30 a.m. ─ when my brother announced that he was going back to his bedroom to "stretch out". Well, he won't get away from having to sit through what remains of the black & white video, but I'll not report on it here until we've seen it all.
I had a meal, and then pursued a needed nap this very sunny day.
I don't believe it was quite 2 p.m. when I later rose ─ just in time to hear my brother bidding my wife farewell, for he was leaving afoot to catch a bus and go somewhere to drink. He had already been out in his van, for a fresh 15-pack of beer was present for his later consumption.
Obviously my wife had come home during my nap after being away since ... Tuesday morning? Whatever, she was busy in the kitchen.
I wanted to sun, so I dressed down for that backyard experience, and greeted her as I passed by the kitchen.
I forgot to check how long I was out there, for I neglected to take note of my start time. But I am certain that I likely exceeded 1½ hours. What I found especially impressive was how bloody much I sweated ─ I cannot recall sweating more at any single session during the previous two months!
My wife must have had to work the latter part of today at the Thai restaurant, for she was gone when I came back into the house.
I was soon at work on this post, but towards the end of the afternoon I drastically declined and had to resort to some time abed in darkness. I never actually napped, though I was open to it.
Was I down an hour? Maybe not. Noticeable, though, was a vague aching in back of my dominant left eye ─ an allusion to that threatening eyestrain headache of last night.
After a tad more work on the post, I felt a couple of brews were required ─ after all, I want to venture forth at dark on the 5.625-mile round trip hike to Real Canadian Superstore for some very light grocery shopping. I also have my brother's monthly expenses reconciliation cheque to deposit.
And thus it was that I went downstairs to the T.V. and put our Android TV Box back to work for 9-1-1: Lone Star ─ episode 14 ("Tongues Out") of season four. I had a wee bit to eat as a buffer, and then drank a can each of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol) and Bumper Crop cider (7% alcohol).
That was a jolly good episode! Twice I felt my eyes burning with emotion. The first time was when character Owen Strand surrendered his fate by administering mouth-to-mouth to the poisoned and steadily paralyzing and dying new love of his life (i.e., beautiful Kendra) as he awaited the arrival of an emergency team.
The second time was when character Tommy marched down the church isle in a tight red dress on a Sunday morning and gave a very brief Biblical reading to some gossiping church members who were destroying her relationship with her newly insecure suitor, character Pastor Trevor.
Anyway, it seems to definitely be getting dark earlier. Right now it is 8:12 p.m., so I am going to publish this post and ready and be on my way. Once my brother and I are both home later, there will be a show or two, and a further couple of cans of beer for me!
I am home alone, so I expect to be locking up the house. My brother had best be in possession of his house key.
