It was around midnight when I got to bed last night, if I am remembering correctly. I still might have been able to get up for an early a.m. six-block walk, but it was not worth it to me.
I think that I checked the time around 7:15 a.m. when I took my second toilet break of my night to pass what remained of the three cans of beer I had consumed last evening, but I did not feel much like remaining up, so I returned to bed for another hour or so.
My brother was up when I took that toilet break, but he was gone when I rose after 8 a.m. This was his second (consecutive) and final day of mandated attendance at the Responsible Driver Program (RDP) Workshop in Langley. Scheduled as running from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., he was hopeful that they would be dismissed far ahead of that schedule as was the case yesterday.
He had some interesting stories told him by fellow participants yesterday ─ instances of police and judicial wrongdoing in racking up the numbers of convictions for this phenomenally lucrative 'cash cow'. As an example, one fellow said that he had not even been drinking and thus proved it by passing the breathalyzer without it reacting against him even as a warning, but the cop involved refused him a second blow to back up the first, and made the judgment call that the guy was guilty of drinking anyway.
The cop thereafter claimed that the driver had refused the breathalyzer ─ a category that can include refusing to comply properly by blowing hard enough for the device to register anything.
So it was the cop's word prevailing over the driver's; and the fellow's lawyer said this is known to probably take place, but it is impossible to prove.
Anyway, for the second morning I was left on my own to watch any T.V. Among the videos I did watch was this 20-minute effort streamed yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: AnitaK is live!
Please note that I set the video to commence after a little better than the first 6½ minutes because the recording had been muted until then and thus there was absolutely no sound.
Anita was interviewing various people in the amazingly long lineup who had come to see Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre speak in Surrey's Port Kells yesterday. The Surrey Now-Leader has a good article about the event: Poilievre vows to put 'Canada First' at Surrey rally that drew thousands.
As I have been working on this post, at 4:05 p.m. my brother apparently walked into the house, his mandated workshop attendance done with. And soon he will be having his first can of beer of the day, I am sure. But will he be involving me in the T.V.-watching later on like he did yesterday? If that is to happen, he will need to do it ahead of 9 p.m., for I am likely going to watch a show here in my bedroom on this bedside computer while enjoying a beer, and then getting to bed afterwards.
Depending upon just how I feel in the pre-dawn when I rise, I may risk a walk to do some local grocery shopping. But that of course will not be known until tomorrow, so I shall not speculate further on it.
And ... WOW! My brother wasn't home 15 minutes before leaving again to catch a bus so that he could go drinking and playing pool at a pub.
I'll be getting to bed early enough, then.
But back to my morning, I also watched a 15-minute (15:28) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's Northern Perspective channel: Did Mark Carney Announce The END OF THE ALLIANCE With The United States?? REPORTERS SAY NOTHING.
A third video worth mention was 22 minutes (22:31) and had been uploaded yesterday to YouTube's Jasmin Laine channel: Mark Carney CAUGHT LYING About Trump Tariffs—Danielle Smith GOES NUCLEAR on Liberals.
Mark Carney Gets HUMILIATED at Live Event— Canadian media/Liberals LIE about tariffs. Fox News Issues STARK Warning & Smith Goes NUCLEAR on Liberal Elitists.
★★★
I took quite a break following the above. And has been happening a lot lately, perverse libido is being encouraged, alas.
Nonetheless, I did take the more profitable time to watch a show here on my bedside computer and enjoy a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol).
The show was FBI: Most Wanted ─ specifically, episode 13 ("Transaction") of season four. As so often, the episode was very interesting and involving. Should anyone be interested, my source was this GOOJARA.to link.
The temptation has been present to watch something further, but I shan't. Already it is 9:48 p.m., and my brother is still not home. He is going to be heavily besotted, and certainly no one I would want to try watching any T.V. with downstairs. Bev can have and enjoy him.
As for the morning, I have decided against any morning shopping ─ Sunday will be far better, for there will surely be less likelihood of crossing paths with unwanted other people. It would probably be best that I take my walking stick, and stash it near to where I will be shopping (should I even go on Sunday) ─ I can then retrieve it on my return.
I would of course need to ensure that I did not over-shop and leave myself so burdened that two carrying bags would be required.
Maybe overnight tonight I can rise around 3 a.m. at latest to walk over to the elementary school playground three or so blocks away to assess how much I have weakened since my last attempt at exercising early in the a.m. of March 1st, not two hours before I had my knee accident here at home.
Anyway, enough blogging for today.
