"Crisis Theory"

Due to my ears tending to plug up after I have gone to bed ─ it's all depending upon whichever ear is downward when I lie upon a side ─ my cellphone was sounding for five minutes before I recognized what it was. I had actually thought that I was hearing a steady drip of rain outside my partially open bedroom window.

Consequently it was 2:35 a.m. when I rose instead of 2:30 a.m.

I am skilled at dallying, so it was at least 3:15 a.m. before I was on my way ─ the 1½-mile or so round trip hike to my financial institution's nearest ATM so that I could deposit my younger brother's cheque primarily comprised of his share of the annual utilities that had to be paid yesterday (by me).

I think that the 50 partial squats I have begun doing in the late afternoons / early evenings the past couple of days are leaving my damaged right knee in a weakened state ─ yesterday I think that I was finally managing to get my thigh horizontal.

The aftermath for these walks is that I find myself lamer and thus also slower. I keep resisting the use of my five-foot walking stick, carrying it for mostly emotional support. I would not dare use stairs of even two or three steps without it, however. There just does not seem to be any stabilization alongside my knee any longer ─ whatever muscles and tendons (the quadriceps assemblage?) are involved in providing that stability seem ... inoperational.

And because I have been unable to get about to exercise my upper body since the March 1st accident to my knee, I have grown pathetically weak and am losing muscle. On my way back home, I stopped at the elementary school playground where I would previously engage sets of pull-ups and chin-ups. I wanted to see how I would fare on using a pair of the gymnastics-style rings for pull-ups.

Well, I managed just one. And even after a 30-count break, I could not manage one more. Heck, I tried again after a further 30-count, and I still couldn't do it.

What the Hell am I gonna do?!

The outing took me approximately an hour, and it was likely a little past 5:30 a.m. before I had returned to bed. Unfortunately, sleeping was so ridiculously difficult. I actually got up again around 7:15 a.m., but I had to return to bed after a half hour or so.

I got up again shortly after 8 a.m., but even then I quickly became overcome and had to soon get back into bed to just lie and allow time to pass until after I heard my brother emerge from his bedroom and go downstairs for coffee and T.V.

I got up a final time, but waited until a little after 9 a.m. before going downstairs for my day's first mug of instant coffee and to join my brother for some T.V.

At his fast invitation for me to put our Android TV Box to work, I started us off with a 10-minute (10:40) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: Carney Relieved: Chiang Takes the Fall on Liberal Bounty Scandal!

Recorded April 1, 2025
"We're Moving On", Carney mostly mum on Liberal Bounty Scandal!" One CTV reporter at least tries to keep Carney accountable

I followed that with a 39-minute (39:38) video published earlier today to Rumble's USAFrontlineDoctors channel: Jesse Watters Primetime (Full episode) - Tuesday, April 2.

Although there is a long, long mass of material below the video, there does not actually seem to be a description for it, so I'm not going to bother trying to provide one.

Next I tried three different BitChute channels, but none of their most recent videos were worth mentioning.

I was going to begin playing videos that I had recorded, for it was only 10:30 a.m. Alas, my brother announced that he was going to get ready and head out on one or more errands, so that was that!

My wife had come home last evening, but I had already gone to bed. So instead of attempting to lose myself in a midday nap, I merely rested as I awaited the opportunity to finally get her to sign the new mortgage agreement; and now that has been taken care of.

She did not waste much time after showering and otherwise readying, and around noon wordlessly left. I supposed that she was only off to do some grocery shopping. However, at 12:27 p.m. she phoned me ─ she was at a dentist, and did not have the required Pensioners' Dental Services Plan information for her coverage as my dependant.

It had been some while since I had last involved myself with those details, so I was going to have to research it. She understood, and asked me to text her when I located what she required.

Ultimately I was able to download an online copy of my membership card, so I texted that to her, and all was well.

I have no idea if she has to work the latter part of today like she had to do yesterday ─ whatever the case, if she was scheduled to work, then as I type these words it is too late now for her to be returning home.

But getting back to my brother, the poor guy took care of his errand(s), but then came home and had to bide time for Bev to finally get herself ready to be taken away to tend to her own affairs. So as far as I know, he never got any bed rest.

Notwithstanding, after they got back home, he left on foot to catch a bus to go forth social drinking. How such a bloody thing can be so all-consuming for him practically every single day of the week is incomprehensible to me.

He must be brain-damaged.

It is presently 3:33 p.m. and quite sunny outside, but I am only going to take a break to see if I can achieve a nap.

★★★

I may have napped, but I am unsure. I definitely rested deeply.

My cellphone plan is with Rogers Wireless, and they are presently charging me $63.84 a month. Supposedly my "Loyalty Plan" entails something like .49 GB of data (that's half of one gigabyte).

For "Talk", I have 500 minutes on weekdays; unlimited weeknights and weekends; but no free long distance.

"Text" is unlimited.

However, since the beginning of the year they have been hounding me that as of July 1st, 3G is being discontinued, and reportedly my iPhone 5 is not capable of the 5G they intend to roll out.

And now today, this was sent:

Starting May‌ 4,‌ 2025, there will be a $3 monthly charge for devices that use our legacy networks to cover the cost of maintaining older technology.

So even though they will no longer be providing me service once July arrives ─ they want me to buy a new phone from them; they even intend to charge me $3 extra a month for the two months remaining in which my phone will work on their network.

Well, I refuse to be hostage to them.

Even if I need a new phone despite joining a different carrier, I am not interested in some contract by getting a phone through the carrier. I would just get a cheap phone somewhere like Walmart Canada ─ maybe a flip phone, since I do not use my phone for watching videos or surfing the Web or anything like that.

Heck, maybe my wife or stepson has an old phone that's still serviceable, 'cause I sure ain't fussy. And imagine paying half what I am already paying per month for a different carrier's coverage!

I'm going to have to ask my brother again to see who his carrier is ─ he's told me, but I never pay enough attention to remember. I also know someone else who goes cheap ─ I'll maybe check with her as well.

Anyway, my brother was not home this evening until around 8:30 p.m., so I shut myself up into my bedroom to watch something here on my bedside computer while enjoying a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol).

My choice was Westworld ─ season three finale episode eight ("Crisis Theory"). I very much enjoyed it, and found it provocative where my outlook of God and human free choice and potential are concerned.

Should you be interested, my source for the episode was this GOOJARA.to link.

Evidently I am getting to bed relatively early, but with only a single (midday) meal under my belt. Bev's extensive occupation of the kitchen when I had planned to make a quick meal thwarted my hopes.

Consequently when I thereafter was embroiled at the dining table ─ seeking to scan and save to an attached laptop the essential four pages of the new mortgage agreement ─ I had scant patience for her white wine-inspired continual effort to drag me into an undesired conversation by first annoying me with questions concerning my damaged knee, then querying as to what exact troubles I was having with the scanner / laptop that I knew she could not possibly understand, and finally quizzing me on how much I feel she should be contributing to living here as a 'renter'.

I knew she would prove bothersome, and I had postponed the scanning errand for as long as possible, finally realizing that I had to get it done before my brother arrived home.

At least it is done.

Enough blogging for today. It is 10:26 p.m., and I intend to be rising at 3 a.m. for a six-block walk as well as to mail off the new mortgage agreement.

I engaged another 50 partial squats towards the end of the afternoon or early in the evening, so I am anticipating that my knee is going to be feeling strained ─ but it won't be challenged for the duration and length of my walk this past early a.m. to the ATM and back.
