I did make it to bed before 10:30 p.m. last evening, so my cellphone alarm was set for 3 a.m. My wife had arrived home before my retirement, but I remained shut up in my bedroom engaged in a little iniquitous passage of the time.
I never heard my alarm until after two minutes due to nighttime ear-clogging, a condition all too common for me now in my old age whenever I am abed.
Incidentally, several posts back I wrote of one night discovering that my cellphone alarm had supposedly been sounding for long over an hour, yet in my hands it was perfectly silent ─ the claim was clearly a lie. But at least it was working this time.
And so I had my walk ─ a little longer than the usual six or so blocks. I had set out down the short (but with three right angle turns) alleyway beside out home that leads from our cul-de-sac to a main avenue, but I discovered at attaining the middle turn that some shuffling, badly-coughing (he sounded more like he was puking) possible derelict was not yet at the final turn, but he had been motivated to move onward by my bright flashlight. Maybe he had been just seated on a Jersey barrier blocking that end of the alleyway, and was spooked by the advancing bright light.
Despite my bad right leg, I could have overtaken this character had I not slowed down somewhat. However, he turned right at the avenue ─ the direction I would have taken; so I was left no choice but to go left.
That route afforded me an extra 1½ (if not two) blocks to my walk.
All good, though.
It was probably nigh 6 a.m. before I returned to bed.
I was to rise again shortly after 8 a.m., preceding my brother's emergence from his bedroom by 10 - 15 minutes. However, as usual I never went downstairs until after 9 a.m. to boil water for my day's first instant coffee and then to join him for some T.V.
So what did we watch once he turned the T.V. over to my so I could put our Android TV Box into play?
I led us off with a 15-minute (15:46) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: Former Liberal Premier endorses Pierre and schools CBC host live on-air!
She is speaking of former Vancouver mayor ─ as well as former B.C. premier ─ Gordon Campbell.
Next I tuned in a 53-minute (53:55) video published two days ago to Rumble's Libertytalkcanada channel: CORRUPTION: Health Canada's Attack on Canadians' Right to Supplements.
New Rules Will Cause Mass Exodus of Products/Business to the United States. QUICK ACTION STEP. (Interview.) NHPPA.ORG
Why not name guest Shawn Buckley? I don't understand this ─ neither the video title nor its description gives a clue who is featured.
Our final video was actually an old black & white 1940 movie titled His Girl Friday.
My source for the movie was published February 5, 2022, at BitChute's ittabena channel: His Girl Friday 1940.
In my youth I was undoubtedly exposed to the movie on T.V. a number of times, but I have no idea if I ever attempted to watch it. The movie would probably have been over my head, or just not interesting enough. And in checking out the Wikipedia article about it, I see that I was not imagining that the rapid-fire pace of conversation in the second half of the movie was definitely unnatural because the movie director was seeking to break a standing record for that sort of abnormally fast, sustained dialogue.
Bev had actually come downstairs quite late into the movie and was seated at the dining table throughout what remained, so she was well placed to take over the T.V. when the movie finished and my brother returned to their bedroom for some further bed rest.
I had my day's first ─ and light ─ meal, remaining from my desired nap because I correctly expected that since my brother only had three cans of beer remaining in his supply, he would be making the drive to the government liquor store two miles hence.
When he again emerged from his bedroom, he invited me along, remembering that I had only bought two dozen cans for myself two days ago due to lack of funds when we had made a similar visit to the outlet.
And now I have the additional two dozen I would have bought that day had I the cash.
It was good to get that nap afterwards in the mid-afternoon! He, of course, left afoot to catch a bus and engage his daily essential social drinking.
It has been a largely sunny day. Maybe tomorrow I will sit out in the backyard for a time to benefit from some sunshine, for by Friday we may climb to 20º or above (Celsius).
This was another full workday for my wife, so she emerged from her bedroom around 9:40 a.m. at latest to shower and such; and by 10:10 a.m. or so left on her rather long drive to the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time.
On the exercising front of my bad right leg, no matter how I try, when I elevate the leg, the lower leg inexorably droops a couple or three inches ─ there is no way that I can get it to hold an extension even when I use my other leg to elevate the lower leg so that it is straight. Once the support of my left leg is removed, the lower right leg just droops back down the two or three inches and no amount of concentration can stop it from happening.
How the Hell can I feel upbeat or positive when this constantly confronts me?
ℱ𝓊𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃' useless damned cripple that I have become.
I'm taking a break from this post at 6:46 p.m.
★★★
I suppose that my brother's return was around 7:41 p.m.
I waited until around 8:30 p.m. before shutting myself here into my bedroom to enjoy a Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) while watching a show. This evening's choice was The Avengers ─ episode 17 ("Return of the Cybernauts") of season or series five.
Diana Rigg / Emma Peel was so wondrously beautiful ─ it is no wonder to me that I was in love with her for a full two years in my late teens back in the late 1960s. I still see it.
My viewing source was this OK.ru link, and it played flawlessly.

I entirely forgot to complete and publish this post, so I am doing it 3:05 a.m. April 23 (Wednesday), but will predate it for the proper date.
