Surprise Visit

Possibly considerably before 2:30 a.m. after I had rolled over to a new sleep position, I made the snap decision to rise and use the toilet to quell a slight urination urge.

Upon returning to bed, I soon enough discovered that I had lost all ability to sleep. It seems to me that my last block of sleep had been after finding myself feeling unnaturally rested but finding the time to be 1:30 a.m. at most.

I checked the time again ─ it was not yet 3 a.m.

I had not set my cellphone alarm, deciding at the last minute when going to bed the previous evening that I would seek to acquire all the sleep I could. I don't remember when it was that I had retired, but it may have been no worse than around 10:30 p.m.

Anyway, I chose to rise; and I even nearly dressed to go for a walk ─ maybe even to the elementary school playground ¾ of a mile away ─ but I felt uneasy about being out there.

So I opted to just kill some time here at my bedside computer.

Before I realized, it was already becoming light outside. I almost returned to bed, having grown wretchedly stiff and rife with aches from sitting here on the metal office chair and hunched over a too-low computer desk; but then it struck me that my wife had wanted me to water some garden plants she had transplanted out front yesterday afternoon.

So I tended to that chore, which sort of loosened me up considerably ─ at least it was enough to dare what must now have been my fifth consecutive token exercising out in the backyard tool shed.

I was to find that I have not improved in the least ─ the hard won single repetition in each of the six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups I confronted matched each of the previous sessions in difficulty and performance, including a 50-count dead hang at the completion of the very last pull-up.

I also ensured that I put out 25 full flat-footed squats, most of them assisted, but the final few not.

And that freed me up to return to my bedroom to eke out some further sleep.

Well past 8 a.m. I was quite confident that I could vaguely hear the T.V. on downstairs, so I rose believing that my younger brother was up and watching T.V.

He was not. He had yet to rise and emerge from his bedroom.

He did soon enough, though. But I waited until nearly 9:15 a.m. before working my damaged leg back downstairs to join him.

At that point he had gotten his fill of morning T.V. and immediately invited me to take over with out Android TV Box. My first choice was already decided ─ a 33-minute (33:48) video published yesterday to Rumble's Libertytalkcanada channel: Who IS and IS NOT Being Offered MAID In Canada Come 2027?

Medical Assistance In Dying... Let's get clear on who will be offered M.A.I.D for mental illness and who will not. Lots to unpack as the Canadian government tries to get more people out of the medical system as the country goes broke.

That was followed with a 46-minute (46:33) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: The Budget would take a day to produce + Can Post, Trump with SA President & Kash Patel on border.

The final video proved a failure after crapping out at the 32-minute mark ─ the series finale episode of The Rig. I tried three different streaming apps that collectively had over two dozen links, but I could not get any of the few that would actually play to then jump ahead to the 32-minute mark and play from there ─ they all buffered endlessly and uselessly.

So much time got wasted that my brother gave up and retired to his bedroom for further bed rest.

I have no desire to waste valuable viewing time like that again, so I downloaded the episode ─ having it as a download will easily allow me to jump directly ahead to any point of the video I may desire. The sole drawback is that the thumb or flash drive currently in our Android TV Box has numerous hours of downloads still to be watched before I replace it with the drive that I downloaded The Rig episode onto ─ it may be a month or more before we finally get around to that replacement.

C'est la vie.

Incidentally, my download source was (I believe) this LightDL.xyz website; but it probably took a couple of hours to complete the download because of how slow the transfer of data was.

While my brother rested, I had a most ample first meal of the day, and then I was to bed in pursuit of a nap. By that time Bev was downstairs watching T.V., as she would be for the remainder of her day ─ as usual.

Once I had inadequately napped, I rose to discover that my brother was busy mowing the lawns. I had been feeling a tad guilty that I ought to try a little sunning, checking out whether the drifting ─ sometimes massive ─ clouds really were more of an obstacle or waste of my time than the sunning effort would profit.

And so it was after 3 p.m. before he left to catch a bus and go social drinking. It is definitely no profit of my time to seek any sunning by starting it in the latter afternoon ─ that is the time that I ought to be winding up a sunning session.

Besides, today is a bath day. Sunning ... blogging ... knee therapy ... a time-consuming bath ─ I cannot cram all of it into an afternoon.

So with that said at 5:11 p.m., I am going to break from this post and have that bath.

πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯

First off, stripped down for that bath, I weighed somewhere around 175 - 176 pounds. But having the bath left me no time for exercising my damned bad right leg.

Around 8 p.m. without my brother yet home, I found a poor source for Too Close to Home ─ episode five ("A Surprise Visit") of season one. My source was this Tvids.to link, but not only did it buffer on five different occasions ─ a time or two for a minute or more; its volume was almost too low to even bother watching the episode because I was unable to immerse myself into what was clearly a very dramatic episode.

This was truly disappointing.

My brother was still not home when the episode finished, but I did hear him enter the house at 8:49 p.m.

Fan of DC's Legends of Tomorrow that I was, I opted next to watch an Olivia Swann short (9:22) titled Together, Alone. The video was too short to impress me, but darn! Olivia is so darned beautiful!

I had fully intended to watch another regular episode of something, but it seemed too late ─ I want to try and get out for an early a.m. walk, so I hope to rise at 3:30 a.m.

And thus I settled upon Cybyll ─ episode 23 ("Cybill in the Morning") of season four. Some great comedic acting in that one! And Alicia Witt looked so gorgeously delicious.

My source was this OK.ru link, and it played flawlessly.

All told, I drank a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) and a glass tumbler of red wine over the evening. But right now, it is 10:30 p.m., so I must begin shutting things down.
