Fournier Gangrne from SGLT2 Inhibitor Diabetic Medications │ Pregnenolone for Low Back Pain Treatment

I believe that it may have been something after 1:00 a.m. by the time I was into bed last night, so there was not to be any very early a.m. work on the day's content assignment for the post I have in development at one of my six hosted websites.

In fact, it was after 7:00 a.m. before I rose, and I wasn't feeling particularly rested ─ I had a wee bit too much to drink last evening, including some cooking sherry.

I'm sure the added salt and sulfites were no blessing where my well-being was concerned.

Anyway, I stuck to the task of discharging that content assignment until it was accomplished, by which time I think that it was a little after 11:00 a.m. (My younger brother didn't rise until around 10:00 a.m., it seems to me.)

I made my return to bed for some further sleep, and remained abed until nigh 12:30 p.m. ─ not particularly long. My brother had by then shut himself up in his own bedroom to rest further ere taking off for the afternoon a little ahead of 1:30 p.m.

I had expected that we would have some rain today, but the afternoon became quite sunny at times. I had some exercising scheduled for the backyard toolshed; so after donning cutoffs, a tank top, and runners, I weighed in at approximately 189 pounds.

Note that in the morning, I had taken a break from that website work to do a four-minute plank.

Upon finishing the toolshed exercising, I decided to take advantage of the sunshine and ─ at 2:34 p.m. ─ slouched low into a deckchair or lawn-chair while clad in just the cutoffs, and there I remained for just over 40 minutes while facing directly into the Sun. Only once did some cloud interfere, but probably not even for a full minute.

Yesterday morning my wife had cooked two entire crabs. My brother dealt with one of them last evening, and the responsibility for the other had fallen upon me ─ my wife tends to stay somewhere in Vancouver for most of the weekends, and neither of her two sons were interested in eating any of the crab.

I must try to remember to tell her not to buy any more, for I honestly hate having to eat the stuff.

I had deliberately allowed myself to get as hungry as I could today so that I would be able to handle trying to eat the remaining crab this afternoon following my sunning.

I have never before been confronted with an entire crab, so I was unsure just how to go about eating the thing.

I put it onto a plate after giving the stinky thing a thorough rising under the kitchen tap. And then I separated its top shell from its bottom shell, thinking that there was probably a fair bit of crab meat inside.

What a mistake! The ugly mess that presented itself was so offensive to me that I was barely able to stand eating the meat from inside the upper legs of the crab afterward.

Is there nothing within the body of the crab that is eaten? I hope not! I tossed the whole mess into the compost bin once I had dealt with the upper legs of the crab.

I don't know what my wife paid for the pair of crustaceans, but I definitely did not get much meat from mine's legs. In truth, it was not much more than a taste.

Well, darn! I just did some research and see at WikiHow.com's article How to Eat Crabs that there is actually quite a lot of meat in the bottom half of the shell.

Too late now! My Thai wife should not have expected me to be able to figure this out on my own.

I wondered how it was that crab could be so expensive when the legs offered so little meat!

I will readily let my wife know what befell the crab ─ maybe it will help curtail her from wasting money buying and bringing any home in the future.

But let's change topics.

Earlier this year, I read of research that has found out about an awfully dreadful risk of a class of type 2 diabetes medication called SGLT2 inhibitors.

Well, more research is apparently backing up the possibility of developing this specific adverse effect ─ the enhanced risk of developing Fournier gangrene:

DrMicozzi.com

Can you even begin to imagine a hideous gangrene taking hold in the region comprised by your genitals and anus?

Oh, Lord!

That second article was written by Dr. Marc S. Micozzi who ─ though generally very knowledgeable in matters of health ─ has this perplexing fixation on metformin somehow being beneficial.

Jack Harrison ─ the authour behind the first article ─ actually reported on May 17 about research that confirms metformin interferes with the body's ability to make full use of certain crucial B vitamins:

Here is another article about the metformin study:

DiabetesInControl.com

Jack Harrison suggested berberine ─ if you're a type 2 diabetic, maybe research and check into it? I made an Amazon search for it at the top of this post just to see what products might come up, and to get an idea on price ranges.

I also did a search for pregnenolone that you can find at the bottom of this post. But why?

Apparently it is helpful in relieving low back pain...but the Pharmaceutical Industry may be seeking to 'develop' their own patented version that they can charge much higher prices for:

NorthStarNutritionals.com

Medscape.com has a good article about that study, but only members of the website can access it. However, if you do a Google search using the article title (Novel, 'Non-Habit Forming' Medication May Reduce Low Back Pain), you should be able to access the full article if you choose to view the cached form of the article.

If you are unfamiliar with what I mean: whenever you do a Google search, there is often a downward pointing arrowhead at the end of the website addresses that Google brings up when it displays its many results. If you click that downward pointing arrowhead, you will see "Cached" offered as an option.

Clicking the "Cached" option should reveal the entire article if that option is still there.

By the way, I have read that one of the benefits of regularly performing the plank exercise is the strengthening of the lower back. Perhaps this might serve to alleviate lower back pain if the cause is not due to serious injury?

And I see that my evening has already arrived ─ I must proofread and publish this post, for I am contemplating getting out to do some local grocery shopping if I can motivate myself sufficiently.
