This is another of those days where blogging time has been usurped for other purposes.
I was up last night until around 12:45 a.m., for my younger brother had consumed less beer than usual by the time he arrived home. The reason for his minimized consumption was that he had gone to the States (Washington) to enjoy a visit with his daughter where she lives with a boyfriend.
The boyfriend was working at the time, so my brother never met him during the four or so hours that my brother was at their wee farm.
The young couple have three largish dogs, and quite an array of other critters including some goats, sheep (whose wool the couple sell), chickens (the eggs get sold), and turkeys (their poults or chicks get sold).
I would be surprised if there were no horses, and I cannot recall if cows were mentioned.
Anyway, obviously my brother was glad to have taken the time to have the visit with his daughter ─ who was only home and available to see him because she had been laid off from her job as a welder.
I am now unable to recall just when it was that I rose overnight to start researching for the new post I want to construct at one of my six hosted websites, but it seems to me that it was likely around 4:00 a.m.
My wife had not come home as yet from working the long day at her friend's Thai restaurant, but I think that it was nigh 4:25 a.m. when I heard her unlocking the front door.
She was going to have to get up at 10:00 a.m. to ready herself for a new workday (her start time is 11:00 a.m.), so she wasted no time getting herself to bed.
I never got around to performing the day's five-minute plank until well past 5:00 a.m. ─ this was the sixth consecutive day in which I have sustained that amount of time in the exercise. I actually overshoot the five-minute mark by maybe 10 or so seconds just to be comfortably certain that I am putting in the full time.
I never returned to bed until after 5:30 a.m. Upon opening the bedroom door, I found my wife buried between our two pillows, so I was not left too much room in bed initially.
The hot weather has subsided, with lots of cloud and a strong breeze keeping things especially cooled down.
It was almost 9:00 a.m. when I rose for the morning, but I had not slept throughout. My brother was by then freshly downstairs watching T.V. and drinking instant coffee.
My wife had asked me to waken her at 10:00 a.m., so when that hour arrived, I went to do so. The poor girl begged for another 10 minutes, so I left her. However, she was to rise on her own not five minutes later.
By the time she was actually readying herself for her drive, I had newly tuned in a movie for my brother and I to watch via our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box that he is unable to operate on his own, and I had to miss out on its opening minutes while I went out to my wife's car to fetch her coffee mug and then prepare her hot drink for her drive.
The movie was constantly interesting, and even my brother seemed to pay attention, but at its conclusion he offered that he would only merit it a "2" in his rating.
I don't know if that's a rating out of a five-point or a 10-point system ─ I never wished to get involved in his negativity.
The movie was 2013's Afternoon Delight.
I'm quite a Kathryn Hahn fan, but young actress Juno Temple ─ fetching as she was ─ is unknown to me despite her surprisingly lengthy background in acting.
I had no idea that she was English. As I watched her in the movie, she seemed to remind me of a tinier and younger ─ and overall more attractive ─ Lisa Kudrow.
Hey, I'm rambling on far longer than I intended to. It is already after 7:00 p.m., and I need to put this post to bed. I still have not finished setting up the foundation for the new website post I would like to get started constructing tomorrow.
I will add that prior to beginning this post, I texted my poor wife the unpleasant news that ─ by my calculations ─ our chequing account is going to be short by $1,023.40 as of Saturday when the monthly mortgage is supposed to be debited from our account.
She may have just been paid earlier this week, but even her full paycheque would not cover the gap. We are going to have to get a contribution from at least one of her working sons who live here scot free.
And I will say no more about it at this time.
