Four Photos From Thailand

I was to bed early last evening, for my younger brother was still not home by 9:00 p.m. from wherever it was that he was drinking. However, I am sure that I heard him come into the house well before I ever got to sleep.

I think I may have made it to bed by around 9:10 p.m. And when some sleep did come, it was well ahead of 11:00 p.m. when I next checked the time. By then, I was aware of my wife's occasional entries into the bedroom. Also, I needed to micturate, so I dealt with that. However, my wife just had to come upstairs while I was so occupied and catch me up. Usually, I just lie motionless in bed with my earplugs and blindfold while appearing to be asleep.

I was to manage another short bout of sleep, and next checked the time around 12:45 a.m. My wife was in the bathroom preparing herself for bed, and all seemed dark downstairs ─ my brother had retired to his bedroom for the night.

And so it was that I rose in order to put some work into the post I am still trying to finish and get published before I tackle upgrading my computer's Windows 7 to Windows 10 ─ should I decide that gamble is worthwhile, and it still be a free option.

I may not dare the upgrade, even if still free. My credit debt is beyond managing ─ should my computer die, I cannot afford a new one. I have no social life beyond the walls of my home ─ the Web is my world. I can't even quite imagine how I would adjust to living without it.

I never returned to bed until at least 4:30 a.m.

One of the things I did while I was up was to download four photos that my wife posted to her Facebook account last night ─ the photos featured her youngest son who is presently over in Thailand on a vacation with two of his friends.

The 22-year-old (I have been stating in recent posts that he is 21 years old, but he had a birthday last month...I believe...that I forgot entirely about) had returned to his home village to see some of his family, including his grandmother.

He had originally told me that he was planning on spending a week back at home, but apparently his plans changed ─ he was only spending two days there, and then would hook up with his two friends in Chiang Mai. They declined to meet his relations, I guess.

Anyway, my wife had likely been forwarded the four photos that were taken while he was back home, and she uploaded them to her Facebook account last night.

These two were uploaded at 11:03 p.m., and captioned "Take grandma to visit uncle":

The uncle is Santi, my wife's sole surviving brother ─ she originally had three, but two of them died in adulthood. I have met Santi a few times, and like the guy. It was always my hope that one day he and I might become close if I was ever able to make any kind of life over in Thailand, but I have allowed my wife to make that an utter impossibility now.

She is a credit fool, and I am a fool for trusting and being lenient with her.

These next two photos were uploaded at 11:06 p.m. last evening, and captioned "Grandma so happy":

By the way, the lad left on his flight to Thailand early in the a.m. of January 12, and these are the first photos that I have thus far seen of his holiday.

Well, my evening has arrived, so I must bring this post to a close.

My day has been uneventful. My wife decided to get up this morning at 9:00 a.m. while I was still in bed and considering rising, so that became my cue to also get up. My brother was downstairs watching T.V.

She went downstairs to do some cooking, but I remained upstairs here at my computer until around 9:50 a.m. when she came upstairs to shower, and alerted me that she had boiled water ─ I could fix my day's first hot caffeinated beverage.

So I did that, and joined my brother in the living room to watch some episodes of T.V. series we follow, using our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box to locate them.

My wife got away on her drive to work extra early ─ she would not be late this morning for her 11:00 a.m. start at her friend's Thai restaurant.

Unfortunately, my brother got too involved in our shows, and we sat watching T.V. until after 2:00 p.m. He never rested up as he usually does before he heads off to end up drinking somewhere, and I was unable to catch the early nap I had wanted.

I was too expended to be able to exercise or do any work on my two blogs without a nap, so I had to have a later one than I cared for.

Nevertheless, the exercise did get done, and I have now completed my second blog post of the afternoon.
