It is already 7:00 p.m., so this post is only token.
I managed to be settled into bed by 9:12 p.m. last evening after noticing that there was some snow mixed into the evening's rain. My younger brother had not yet come home from the bar he had gone to drink at earlier in the afternoon.
Well, a mere minute after I was into bed, I heard him coming through the front door ─ perfect timing on my part!
As I posted yesterday, I did not take my usual vitamin B100 complex that day because of the article I had read that claimed that folks with a healthy gut microbiome did not require steady supplementation.
According to the article, a healthy gut microbiome ought to have a population of four types of bacteria that are perfectly capable of producing all of the eight B vitamins; and supplementing with a powerful vitamin B complex such as B50 or B100 will in all probability only result in impaired sleep.
Well, I have to admit that I did feel more comfortable in bed ─ I wasn't feeling as 'revved up' as I tend to. However, I still didn't sleep solidly, and of course my wife's homecoming after her long day working at her friend's Thai restaurant was disturbing once she started coming into the bedroom.
I wear a blindfold and earplugs, but I am not dead sensorily.
I was surprised when I heard her bid my brother good-night when she finally came to bed. I was expecting that he would have retired for the night ahead of her. However, once she was into bed and the light was out, I saw that it was not yet midnight ─ he doesn't go to bed before that hour as a rule.
I lay where I was as I bided time and waited for him to go to bed so that I could rise and put in some work on the post I am constructing at one of my six hosted websites, but I actually lapsed into a nap. When I next became aware and checked the time, it was around 12:40 a.m. or more ─ all was quiet without the bedroom.
So I carefully rose, and indeed ─ the house was in darkness.
The ground outside was dusted with white from some snow that was not to last very far into the day.
I put in the work I wanted to add to the website post, and even took a break once to perform a 5¼-minue plank downstairs in the living room. And as luck would have it, my wife chose just then to emerge from our bedroom and come downstairs, finding me there.
However, she talked about something else and wholly ignored what I was doing before she returned upstairs to the bedroom. It was a little weird, I confess. She has never seen me plank before, so it seemed most odd that she just accepted it as if it was perfectly normal for me to be doing the exercise.
I am 70 years old, after all ─ shouldn't it seem at all peculiar to find one's husband so engaged at 2:00 a.m. or 3:00 a.m. in the night?
Anyway, I never made my return to bed until maybe 4:30 a.m.
As I said, I felt quite relaxed, and didn't have the sort of nervous tension that I often feel when I am up in the night, or when I am in bed trying to sleep. So even though I was not sleeping solidly the night through ─ my sleep was still fractured ─ I was quite comfortable and didn't seem to have any great difficulty returning to sleep each time I found myself awake.
I will assess how things are tonight ─ it would be wonderful if this situation of peace continues, and maybe even improves with some longer bouts of sleep.
I felt quite ill-slept when I rose this morning around 8:40 a.m., but I didn't feel strained. My brother rose right around 9:00 a.m.
My poor, hardworking wife of course had to work again today, but she does not start work until 11:00 a.m. She remained in bed until shortly after 10:00 a.m., then came downstairs to perform some cooking (a curry) before hurriedly readying for her workday and her quite long drive to get to the restaurant.
It sure does seem cold outside!
By the way, at 10:00 a.m. I had joined my brother at the T.V. and used our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box to tune in a rather interesting A&E biography of actress Carolyn Jones of The Addams Family fame. I used the YouTube 'app' that I have downloaded into the device.
I won't link to the video, for there may be more than one of them uploaded there, and videos constantly get removed from YouTube.
She made quite a sexy-looking Morticia Addams ─ I recognized that even when I was a teen back in the 1960s when the series was current. Nevertheless, what I never noticed before was how much she reminded me of Bette Davis ─ an actress I have never even remotely considered as being sexy!
