Well, I got to watch the unidentified Christmas movie that I spoke of at the finish of yesterday's post, but doing so cost me today ─ I found myself uselessly hungover this morning, unable to accomplish any of the things I had planned.
As for the movie itself, it was not really a Christmas movie at all. It just happened to take place a short time ahead of Christmas, but otherwise the movie had nothing whatsoever to do with Christmas. The movie was 2011's 3 Holiday Tails.
Its alternative title is apparently A Golden Christmas 2: The Second Tail, and is a mostly unrelated sequel to a 2009 movie titled A Golden Christmas. There is even a sequel to the sequel.
I won't be re-watching the movie this coming Christmastime if my younger brother brings his girlfriend Bev over here to spend a couple of days and nights with us. I'm only interested in true Christmas movies.
Other than that, the movie was definitely pleasant enough. The lead character was played by actress Julie Gonzalo, someone I am entirely unfamiliar with. I did, however, recognize the supporting actress portraying Julie Gonzalo's romantic competition in the movie, even if the actress's name was also entirely unfamiliar to me ─ little (she's not five feet tall) Kelly Stables.
For a teeny lassie, she has an extremely nice set of pins ─ I well remember this scene of her from many years ago on Two-and-a-Half Men: Alan,Jake and charlie's girlfriend.
This is a gorgeous photo of her from that scene:
The photo is from DeviantArt.com member NewYoungGun as found here.
Julie Gonzo had a very cute niece in the movie, played by actress Alexandra Peters, whose name was also unfamiliar to me. However, she looked very familiar for some reason. Yet I do not recognize as having seen any of the few acting credits attributed to her.
Incidentally, Alexandra Peters today is something over a half foot taller than tiny bombshell Kelly Stables.
Over the course of the movie I drank a can of strong (8% alcohol) beer and a stiff shot of amber or golden rum. Why it is that I am so out of practice with drinking that this little amount of alcohol would effectively ruin me for today is perplexing.
I even got to bed relatively early ─ certainly ahead of 10 p.m.
Sure, I rose in the wee a.m. ─ maybe late in the midnight hour, or soon thereafter ─ intending to put in a fair amount of work here at my computer. But already I was feeling oppressively burned out and ill-slept.
I finally went to bed just after 4 a.m., setting my cellphone's alarm for 6:30 a.m., thinking that I would still be potentially able to rise and get away for some very early shopping.
Well, when the alarm sounded, I was too far gone to be getting up. Annoyed, I stopped the alarm, and sought more sleep, grudgingly giving up on getting out to do any early shopping.
I did not realize that I still had the 'snooze' feature activated, so a few minutes later the alarm sounded again, and to great cursing I reached over to the floor and this time cancelled the alarm entirely.
Nonetheless, I still managed to get up ahead of my brother. I was up before 8:30 a.m. so that I could have the bath that I skipped having after I published yesterday's post.
At 11 a.m. I even joined him at the T.V. to put our Android TV Box into operation to watch the latest video from LibertyTalkCanada's lovely Odessa. As yet, the video has not been uploaded to BitChute, but I think that when it is, it will probably bear the title Dec 18th - Fake Vaccine Needles & More 2020 Garbage - Merry Christmas.
To watch it, I had to log into my Facebook account and then access Odessa's. But it worked, and thanks to our Android TV Box, we were able to watch the video on T.V.
Odessa produced a couple of very appealing face masks that she said a local (British Columbia) woman was producing, but Odessa failed to identify how we could buy any. The masks are boldly marked with statements like "COVID Scam" and so forth.
I would love to put on one of those whenever I needed to go into a store to shop! I don't give a damn what anyone might think. A useless mask is a useless mask, no matter what may be printed across it. There is nothing any objector to the mask's slogan could do, apart from actually try to assault me.
Okay, I am going to take a break. It is now 4:03 p.m., and I absolutely must get out to see about buying lottery ticket packs for my two stepsons. These will be their Christmas presents (the lads are both well into their 20s). I'll blow a minimum of $30 apiece on them.
But it's lightly raining, I believe; and since I do not drive, I will be walking the mile or so to Surrey Place (Central City) to visit one of the lottery kiosks there. Thus, I must start getting ready ─ the mall closes at 7 p.m., and I have not even had a bite to eat thus far today. I'll be hiking in the dark.
Tomorrow morning, I hope to get out around 6 a.m. or so and hike the nearly three miles I have to travel in order to do some grocery shopping at the Real Canadian Superstore outlet nearest here.
And I did it! It was probably around 4:45 p.m. at worst when I set off ─ in a hard rain that lasted for about a block, getting me wet far sooner than I anticipated. But after that, the rain was always manageable.
My bolstering 'meal' before going was a hunk of extra old cheddar cheese ─ that was all.
At least I got the lottery tickets. The kiosk I went to seemed to have lots of them on sale ─ the packs, that is. So I asked for two $20 packs and two $10 packs ─ but then I immediately amended that to four $10 packs.
I made the debit card payment and was walking away, sorting the packs to put into a plastic bag I had brought. However, I only had four packs. The woman had sold me just the four $10 packs.
I turned about to go back to the kiosk, but already there were three or four people lined up. So I went off to a different kiosk I knew of in another part of the mall, and I bought my two $20 packs there.
Then home I came, getting back no later than 5:30 p.m.
That hike will have been my only exercise of the day. I think that it has been weeks since I last went a full day without some upper body exercising.
I wouldn't mind watching another Christmas movie, but I'm too afraid of what the requisite companion drinks will do to me ─ I must get out early in the a.m. to do that grocery shopping. I cannot risk another hangover like today's ─ which I know was compounded by inadequate sleep, for I do that poorly.
I also must hope that my wife does not show up overnight like she did last weekend. That was enough to prevent that planned Sunday morning shopping trip. I always have my several hours of earliest a.m. time here at my computer, and then when I have a weekend morning outing scheduled, I usually return to bed for some further rest first.
But with my wife home and sleeping, I am unable to set an alarm.
Also, even if I did get away, then having her home in bed would forestall me returning to bed in the mid- or late-morning, which I would probably need to do. So last Sunday, I just scotched the trip.
I feel I need to go tomorrow morning ─ I cannot in good conscience put it off again.
Notwithstanding, I can but wait and see how my night plays out.
Anyway, that's enough for today's post.
