There has been no sign of my wife since my post yesterday ─ but that's fine. I get much more done without her home, and her withdrawn surliness towards me of late is nothing I welcome anyway.
I had something of a miss this morning when I joined my younger brother around 10 a.m. to use our Android TV Box and tune in a 47-minute Robert F. Kennedy interview of a journalist named Jeremy Hammond.
There are many sources for the interview, and I now do not recall just which I used, except that it was on Bitchute.com. Consequently, the following link is just an example source: TRUTH, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Season 2, Episode 7 featuring Jeremy Hammond.
My brother watched the interview, but it wasn't exactly revelatory. Nothing much new was presented; and as my brother often complains, its relevance was weighted towards America.
What surprised me afterwards was that he then requested that I play the latest video from LibertyTalkCanada's Odessa Orlewicz, since she is a local (British Columbia) girl.
I happily did so, but the dear lady proved not to be recording one of her usual episodes, as may be deduced from this one's title: Dec 15 - Coffee Talk And Opinion Chat.
When left to herself, Odessa can get adventurous and approach into 'conspiracy theory' terrain. Usually her producer / spouse Norbert is in the background and perhaps helping to keep her in reign, but for this episode she ran the show solo. He was committed elsewhere and was unable to be present.
I deeply appreciate Odessa, so I won't critique her personal beliefs ─ we all have our own, don't we? Most of us are just not as likely as this courageous woman is to be confessing them publicly.
However, as my brother voiced, she is risking her credibility by branching off or extending herself as she does.
Another show we were to watch was the final episode of the rather dark BBC comedy Fleabag. We had watched all of the other episodes previously.
I think that we're both a little sorry to be bidding the series goodbye after a mere two seasons.
For myself, initially it took me some episodes to warm up to the title character who was played by actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Actually, I suppose that it was Phoebe herself that took some adjusting to, for I wasn't much attracted to her and didn't fully comprehend her as any sort of siren.
Natheless, I eventually did come to find her to be quite alluring in her somewhat gangly way.
And the character's initially off-putting way of talking to the camera became not only quite acceptable, but often even quite humourous. It even seemed to draw in the viewer's sympathy, for it was as if she was including the viewer in what was going on. It made her seem more sincere.
It is not a technique that always works. For example, I still detest the main character in the BBC comedy series White Gold. I have no identification whatsoever for the lecherous, conceited, and dishonest prick. And since my brother and I are now well into the second season, this impression of mine has not in the least wavered. I will in fact be quite happy to see the finish of this series.
I am going to cut this post short, so I will only say that my brother left afoot ahead of mid-afternoon to catch a bus and rendezvous with one or more drinking buddies at a pub. In leaving when he did ─ and I don't believe that it was yet raining ─ he avoided some rather dreadful weather.
The rains came early into the latter afternoon, and by dark were most heavy. It is going to be a miserable night out there.
Since I am not expecting my brother home this side of the mid-evening, I believe that I will endeavour to locate a Christmas movie to enjoy with some drinks. Naturally, I will have our Christmas lights all aglow for best effect, for I love being affected with deep emotion when I watch these things by myself.
Of course, it is always possible that my wife will show up during the movie. But we'll see. Right now, though, I have a little exercising to get out of my way, and then I can find out about that movie.
By the way, I only recently realized that the Christmastime period obliterates the entire weekend after the one coming. And since I only get out to shop during the early mornings of the weekends (I do not drive, and thus have to walk), I only have this next one in which to get quite a lot done.
It is going to be a close call!
