For a welcome change, when I tuned in a movie via our Android TV Box last evening for my brother and I to watch on T.V., he never once made a gripe. In fact, he clearly enjoyed the 2009 feature simply titled Moon.
Actor Sam Rockwell did a commendable job playing the lead character(s).
At the movie's conclusion, I expressed what my brother was probably thinking ─ i.e., that it was too bad that we were not to see what befell the Sam Bell clone after he got to Earth from the Moon.
Well, I now see via the Wikipedia article on the movie that I linked to above, that we failed to clearly hear what we had assumed were just various irrelevant broadcastings that were included to illustrate that Sam was indeed coming to a living planet as the movie concluded, and not to some now-dead world ─ this is what Wikipedia explained:
The helium transport arrives at Earth, and over the film's credits, news reports describe how Sam's testimony on Lunar Industries' activities has stirred up an enormous controversy, and the company's unethical practices have caused their stock to plummet.
I will have to let my brother know about this when he comes home this evening after doing some drinking at the home of his girlfriend Bev.
I had originally intended to watch a more recent movie titled Mute, but I saw in Wikipedia that Moon was somehow a prequel, and so I chose for us to see the older movie.
I now see that Mute ─ an entirely unrelated story to that of Moon ─ does include a passing acknowledgement to the Moon story when there is a background shot of a TV broadcast of a court trial where Sam Bell and several of his clones are all seen in the courtroom, identifying themselves in an "I'm Spartacus" allusion.
My brother and I will probably not get around to watching that movie until into February.
My wife had to work a full day today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, so she left my brother and I around 10:30 a.m. and undertook the fairly long drive for her 11 a.m. start. At the time, my brother and I were watching T.V.
He was to bow out at noon from an interesting interview I had tuned in, and went to have some bed rest before leaving for the afternoon especially early.
I was also looking forward to some bed rest, but first I dallied in order to unleash my viler inclinations, and thus it was nearly 1:50 p.m. before I was back in bed. By then, my brother had already left.
I napped, but I don't think that I was in bed a full hour, unfortunately. Nevertheless, I was soon at work at my website My Retirement Dream, and now I have a sixth censored post from this blog republished at my website: August 14, 2021 ║ My Wife Visits the Thai Buddhist Wat Budhapanyanantarama in Burnaby.
It and a number of other posts were "unpublished" last Summer, but I do not wish to draw attention by talking about it here. I tell of why at the website post that I linked to.
I am going to cease blogging for today and see about tuning in a Christmas movie as an excuse to have some dark rum, for I am rather unhappy with myself.
