πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠ Happy 70th Birthday, My Brother!

I blew away my entire afternoon in utter sordidness.

In yesterday's post I declared that I had to get out to buy my younger brother some Scotch, for today marked his 70th birthday. Well, I carried through with that necessity, hiking over to the Berezan Liquor Store in Cedar Hills, possibly a half mile from here.

Things did not proceed particularly smoothly, for there was a Canada-wide digital outage that was forcing businesses to ask for cash transactions only. My debit card and my VISA credit card were both declined. Fortunately, I was able to go to a nearby Vancity credit union and use their ATM for a $100 cash withdrawal. I had first sought to see what my chequing account balance was, but that transaction got declined. Consequently, I was very fortunate to be able to get the cash.

I ended up buying my brother two 750-ml bottles of different brands of Scotch, and a gift pouch or sack for each one of them. In all, my bill came to just under $79. However, I left a two-dollar tip on top of that.

At least regular Internet was unaffected ─ or at least, ours was. We are with Telus. And so when my brother was finally home that evening, I tuned in an episode of Supergirl

After that, we watched 1961's black & white feature Partners in Crime, an entry in the old Edgar Wallace Mysteries. We have watched all of the movies that preceded Partners in Crime at the website RareFilms.xyz. Thanks to the apps that I have downloaded into our Android TV Box, we are able to watch such films on T.V.

As usual, the blog Classic Movie Ramblings does another good movie write-up.

My brother and I love these old whodunnits.

We ended the evening with an episode of United States of Tara. My wife got home at the start of that comedy, having been at the Thai restaurant where she works part-time.

I honestly have no time to blog, but I want to at least mention the two videos that my brother and I watched this morning.

First, I tuned in the Rumble upload Out of Babylon with David Straight - Part 1, which ran for nearly two hours (1:50:25).

Part 1 of a series of 8 videos presented by David Straight from the Out of Babylon Conference hosted at Church of Glad Tidings June 4-6, 2021.

Considering that the whole thing was basically a Common Law lecture, my brother displayed considerable interest. I don't think that he is aware just how many more of these lectures are to come, one of which is nearly 3½ hours in length.

But I will periodically tune one in for us.

The second and final video we watched was the hilarious YouTube stand-up act FULL COMEDY SPECIAL | Jim Breuer - 'Somebody Had to Say It'. Since its presence on YouTube is vulnerable, I will include this Rumble link for the same video.

Jim nailed the talking heads on the various news services on T.V. ─ his almost Jim Carrey-like pantomime as one of those lying "news cockatoos" was rip-roaring! The newscasters are exactly that ludicrous, parroting the same casedemic / plandemic / scamdemic B.S. over and over, too afraid to speak the truth.

The video was a little over an hour (1:06:35), and well worth the time.

My brother sought some bed rest following that excellent video, and I probably should have done so as well. However, my wife had risen by then.

Unfortunately, she was not to remain home too far into the afternoon. She left ("See you on Monday") before my brother had yet emerged from his bedroom to also head off ─ no doubt to be feted with some drink by at least a few of his drinking buddies on this, his birthday.

If he is not back by 9:30 p.m., I will not watch any T.V. with him. Quite apart from the fact that his intoxication level is likely to be very high, I want to get up quite early ─ maybe 4 a.m., if I can avoid becoming entangled with my brother.

After my wife and then my brother left this afternoon, I should have gotten in some sunning. But as I indicated at the top of this post, I occupied myself otherwise ─ possibly for well in excess of four pathetic hours.

It is presently after 8:15 p.m., so I am going to bring this post to a close and go and have a little supper and some T.V.
