Wasp Sting

Around 10 p.m. last evening ─ and following an episode of Last Tango in Halifax ─ I tuned in the 2017 Western Justice.

My brother and I enjoyed Justice well enough, although it was clearly a 'cookie cutter' product. It even concluded with the hero parting from the winsome country girl he had developed a romantic attachment with ─ a widow in this case who had also lost a son ─ in order to ride off into the distance to right another wrong elsewhere, and admitting as he left that he was unlikely to return.

That sort of thing is unrealistically tedious.

But it was good to see the evil town mayor (played by Steven Laing, whom I have been familiar with ever since the T.V. series Crime Story back in the 1980s) brought down, and his main henchman basically executed by our hero ─ who happened to be a U.S. Marshal.

My brother thought that lead actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler looked familiar, but I felt nothing like that. I see now that she played Meadow Soprano, so I will have to try to remember to mention that to him in the case that he regularly-enough watched The Sopranos to have been able to recognize her from there.

I was a little surprised that Jamie-Lynn was chosen as the romantic interest, for even though she is cute enough, she isn't the typical natural beauty these roles require. I would have expected an actress who looked more like Ellen Hollman, who played the saloon girl who was hopelessly involved with the main evil henchman of the mayor, to have been dolled down and given the role instead.

The handsome U.S. Marshal was played by an actor I was unfamiliar with ─ Jackson Rathbone.

Long-time actress Lesley-Anne Down had a small role, but I don't think that I would even recognize her anymore if I saw one of her young performances ─ it has been too long. I no longer have any memory of her looks.

There were two other events yesterday that I never mentioned in that day's post.

First, as a member of the Conservative Party, a ballot arrived in the mail to be used in electing a new Party leader. I only joined the Party earlier this year just so I could participate in that leadership election ─ I have absolutely no intention of voting for the Party in a federal election. My vote will go to the People's Party of Canada (PPC).

I honestly do not believe that the PPC will win in any next election, but the Conservatives likely would. Consequently, I want them to at least have a leader who seems to have morals.

The Conservative Party leadership ballot allows a voter to select from six candidates, and one can rank them according to preference. However, I only care to see two of them leading the Party, so I will not choose any others. It is apparently only required that a voter choose one candidate ─ it is not necessary to go ahead and rank all six. That is left to the voter to decide.

Ballots must be received by September 6, if I am remembering correctly.

The two I will choose are Roman Baber first, and Leslyn Lewis second.

The other event I felt was worth mentioning was that I finally found the cord for recharging my combination flashlight / stungun. I had last used it late last Summer. It went missing in early November after my wife rearranged the room I had it in.

Now I will once more be able to freely use the flashlight when I am on my walks in the wee a.m. To date I had been too fearful of draining what power remained to the rechargeable battery, for I preferred that I had some charge for the stun gun feature in case I might ever needed it.

Now, back to the T.V.

This morning when I joined my brother to watch some, after he turned it over to me so that I could put our Android TV Box into play, I led things off with an hour-long (1:01:09) Liberty Coalition Canada July 2 upload to Rumble: Exposing ”Vaccine” Lies w/Ted Kuntz of Vaccine Choice Canada.

On this episode of Open Mike, Mike [Thiessen] talks with Ted Kuntz of Vaccine Choice Canada about the importance of informed consent regarding vaccines. Tune in; stay Informed.

Episode Resource: VCC Website: https://vaccinechoicecanada.com/.
I had no idea that Vaccine Choice Canada has been active for 40 years! It was a very good interview.

The second video I selected was only 38 minutes (38:42) ─ a July 20 BitChute upload by The Corbett Report: Autodidacticism - #SolutionsWatch.

Who said education was boring? On the contrary. Knowing more about the world, improving your skills and achieving success is electrifying and addictive. But first you have to learn how to learn. Autodidacticism is the process of learning about a skill or a subject without a formal teacher, and today Richard Grove of GetAutonomy.info is here to help us get started on the lifelong quest of self-improvement and self-learning.

I have to confess that this video was of no interest to me ... and even less to my brother.

The final video we watched was nearly 2¼ hours long (2:14:51) ─ a July 20 upload by The Last American Vagabond to Rumble: Germany Admits 1 in 5,000 COVID Vax Has 'Serious Side Effect' & Heatwave Hype To Climate Change EO.

This was a very good video ─ it was sufficient to keep my brother watching until its finish at nigh 1:15 p.m. That was when he sought some bed rest before heading away for the afternoon and early evening to 'socialize'.

I intended to do some sunning, but I first wanted to have a nap.

I was getting set to ready for that nap in my bedroom, when suddenly an excruciating pain erupted just towards the side and instep of my right foot, immediately below the main joint of my 'big toe'.

It felt as if I had stepped on and driven deep the end of a wire that had been protruding upward from the carpeting.

I was nearly in shock from the pain, and raided my foot so that I could ineffectually brush off whatever might be there, but I felt nothing. Nor could I see anything on the carpet when I lightly ran my hand across it.

I then grabbed my flashlight / stun gun and used the light, for my vision is quite bad. Initially I noticed nothing; but then just beneath the edge of the carpet below the underside of my bed, I witnessed a type of wasp awkwardly trying to crawl, and moving as if it had been injured.

I got it into an empty yogourt container and hobbled downstairs with it to toss it outside, hoping that it was going to die for what it had done to me.

When I returned to my bedroom, I had to use a pair of reading glasses and a magnifying glass to locate the site of the injection. There was a reddish spot marking the opening. But there was a somewhat dark mass well under the skin and somewhat removed from that opening which I wondered might be the stinger. If it was, it would not be possible to extract it without creating a lateral wound across the fairly thick skin of my foot overlying the mass.

So all I could do was wait and hope that there would be no pathological allergic reaction.

I used a large dollop of honey on a multi-folded square of toilet paper which I taped to the sting, the honey of course being applied against the sting opening.

I did attempt that nap, but the pain and throbbing made that impractical. And then I heard what I concluded had to be my wife come into the house.

Today should have been a full workday for her at the Thai restaurant where she has part-time employment. I came forth from my bedroom and beheld that she looked as if she had just been awakened in bed ─ clearly, she had been partying overnight.

She said, however, that she had to work half a day, and was home just to try and catch a little sleep. The restaurant closes from something like 3 - 4:30 p.m., so she was going to work thereafter.

I mentioned that our chequing account was short almost $900 for the monthly mortgage that is due tomorrow. This is entirely her fault, for she just will not leave the account alone.

She said that she intended to put $500 into it later, but I pointed out that it was still inadequate.

Anyway, she tried for her nap. I don't know if she actually slept, though. When she rose to ready and leave on her quite long drive, she left without a word to me.

I am presently experiencing the early stage of an aura, so I must bring this post to a close. It is just now 7:31 p.m., and already my brother is back home.
