Alma Mater

Although I rose at 4 a.m. as intended, as is typically the case, I failed to be on my way to Fleetwood's Save-On-Foods until at least 6:10 a.m. The idea was to try to leave ahead of 6 a.m. so that I could get in a little exercising at a nearby elementary school playground. In leaving when I did, I left myself no time to even take the route that passes by the school, let alone do any exercising.

Save-On-Foods opens at 7 a.m., and I wanted both to arrive before it got crowded, and to get my walk over with before the morning got too busy.

Additionally, I seemed to be lacking some 'legs', for I was not possessed of much physical drive.

Fortunately the morning was reasonably cool, and there was lots of light cloud. Throughout my walk I would occasionally feel some droplets of very fine rain; and there was one stretch along Fraser Highway as I headed for the store in which it had clearly showered enough to dampen the pavement.

I was only to buy four items, and only two of those had substantial weight: a 1.75-kg tub of Krema plain yogourt and a six-pack of cans of Bumper Crop cider (7% alcohol). I had two tote bags, so the weight was evenly enough distributed.

Yet the walk back home ─ nigh three miles ─ became brutal in its final stages.

I arrived back home to find that my wife ─ who had come home last night after I had retired to my bedroom ─ had already risen and left for the day. I had seen on her Facebook that there was to be an event today translating as PICNIC DAY 2024 at Wat Budhapanyanantarama (4796 Canada Way in Burnaby), and she seemed to have some participating role in the event beyond that of just another attendee.

Normally she would have worked today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, so I am wondering if the restaurant closed for at least the first half of the day?

Anyway, I was pretty much wiped out, so I needed to lie down. I could hear that my younger brother was stirring in his bedroom, so I shut myself into my own bedroom and was soon seeking a nap.

Probably I was abed only an hour or so.

My brother was watching T.V., so I soon joined him, and quickly put our Android TV Box to work.

We watched but two videos, neither of which warrant particular recognition.

The first was a 44-minute (44:47) montage of supposed QAnon-related clips, and had been published August 4 to Rumble's New JFK. Pascal Najadi. ShariRaye & Benjamin Fulford, Dr. Jan Halper Hayes channel: Q Drop - Military's Secret Undercover Army?

A few of the segments were actually interesting enough ─ I will give it that; but it should have given credit to the various segments in a video description (of which there was none).

The second video was pegged at 58 minutes (58:04), and was streamed August 8 at Rumble's Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson channel: Lawyers Fighting Medical Mandates Worldwide.

Dutch lawyer Meike Terhorst is our guest today. Meike is an attorney from the Netherlands. Her work is based on the protection of human rights and the Dutch Constitution. She has been one of the attorneys who has been fighting the WHO’s attempt to transfer pandemic response powers from sovereign countries to the WHO.

Thereafter my brother sought some bed rest; I had a meal, and had myself shut up into my bedroom for a nap when my brother emerged from his bedroom and left for the day to socialize.

I could not have been down too much over an hour, but it's always possible. Whatever the case, it was not restorative ─ I felt wiped out.

It was sunny enough to sun, so around 2:30 p.m. I put in over an hour out in the backyard doing exactly that. Then I came in and was soon enough at work on this post.

However, I had a considerable decline, and had to break so that I could lie down in darkness for an hour or so.

And that pretty much brings me to the present very early into the evening. I am still not feeling in the pink.

I intend to sit up into the late evening watching a show or two with my brother ─ and to drink a couple or so beers ─ once we are both home, but that is going to necessitate me getting in an evening walk first.

I will need it to be just about dark before I can brave the public.

I will also need an alcoholic boost, alas.

And so towards that conclusion, I tuned in ─ here at my bedside computer ─ Prodigal Son. Specifically, episode three ("Alma Mater") of season two.

As usual, darned arresting! However, I know that the series was cancelled upon the finish of this particular season, so I cannot imagine that there will be anything satisfying about the finale episode.

Should you be interested in watching the episode, I viewed it at this link at Supernova.to. I fully expect that one day the website is going to be shut down for making too many copyrighted shows available at the whim of the general public.

There has been something I have been intending to research, but only now have I finally done so. It concerns the actress portraying the quirky pathologist on the series. Was Keiko Agena the same young actress I believed myself to be remembering?

It is true ─ I have been recognizing her because I was a loyal fan of the T.V. series Gilmore Girls, believe it or not. My reason for fanning the series was because I was strongly attracted to Lauren Graham.

I see now that actress Keiko ─ whose character Lane Kim was supposedly a peer and bosom friend of main character Rory ─ was actually almost eight years older than actress Alexis Bledel. And in fact, Keiko was only ... what, 6½ years younger? ... than actress Lauren Graham!

In Prodigal Son, Keiko's character has the hots for lead character Malcolm Bright; yet that actor ─ Tom Payne ─ is almost nine years younger than Keiko!

You go, Keiko ─ keep looking fetchingly young!

Okay, I've had a can each of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol) and Bumper Crop cider whilst watching Prodigal Son. It is now 8:28 p.m., so I am going to begin slowly readying for my hike ─ I am planning on the 5.625-mile round trip outing to Real Canadian Superstore.

It is still too daylit for me to care to head out yet ─ maybe around 8:45 p.m. at earliest.
