Scab and Ivory

At my retirement last evening, I decided that I would not rise at 6 a.m., but I did set my cellphone alarm for either 7 or 7:30 a.m. And I would only have done that if I was getting to bed especially late ─ could it have been after midnight? I don't remember.

I never drank any more than I usually do of late in my evenings, but maybe cramming the consumption into a shorter spread of time played a hand in my forgetfulness.

I do remember thinking that by not rising to have my early backyard tool shed exercise session, I could always have some version of it in the early or middle afternoon when I was planning to sun.

Well, there was to be no sunning ─ far too much heavy cloud to make that worthwhile. The morning was actually overcast.

I am unsure if I heard my wife come home before I got to sleep.

Anyway, that point arrived in the morning when I was aware that it was quite light outside. I kept seeking sleep, though, until the project became so failed that I realized it was not going to occur ─ I was becoming deeply troubled over financial worries, and I could not free my thought from that concern.

At last I checked the time, and found it to be something like 6:48 a.m., so I chose to rise.

There is another reason I may have opted last evening not to bother rising at 6 a.m.

Last Saturday, I not only had nothing to eat until after 6 p.m., but I also forwent any coffee entirely. I wanted to try doing that again. It is likely I realized how uncomfortable I fast become suffering caffeine withdrawal along with hunger ─ why would I compound those with a strenuous exercise session out in the backyard tool shed early in the morning?

And why would I even want to start my morning at 6 a.m., thereby getting a jump on the discomfort to soon develop?

I do recall such thoughts last evening.

By the time 8 a.m. arrived and then passed, I was feeling chilly and overcome with the desire for more sleep. The best remedy I could entertain was to climb back into bed and await the sounds of my younger brother stirring for the morning. And if he failed to emerge from his bedroom by 9 a.m., I would take control of the T.V. downstairs.

It sure was good getting back into bed!

Even so, I did not seek to sleep ─ just to rest as deeply as possible. As well, I kept some track of the time.

A mere very few minutes before 9 a.m. I heard him probably going to his en suite shower room, so I rose to be positioned to hobble downstairs just as 9 a.m. was about to make its advent.

To my great dismay, at 8:59 a.m. my brother emerged from his bedroom, foiling my plan. It was as if he knew exactly how to do so and had deliberately timed things to result as they had.

I was to join him no later than 9:10 a.m. just before a commercial break in the news programme he had on. And when that break happened, he invited me to take over.

So I started up our R69 Plus Android 14 TV Box and tuned in a 2¾-minute video uploaded two days ago to YouTube's AnitaK channel: Things just got weird.

I have the bad feeling that elections are never what they seem behind closed doors. I smell rats and rigging in the BC Conservative race.

Then I turned in a nearly 15-minute (14:52) video published two days ago to Rumble's WTFLouie channel: Carney HUMILIATED Trump’s Top Economist on LIVE TV. 8 Seconds Changed Everything 26-May-2026.

What a waste of time! I refuse to republish its description. The video was surely Liberal propaganda. I never even heard of this so-called debate, and it may have supposedly taken place over a month ago.

I smelled a rat as soon as I read that Marx Carnage dared to willingly debate Howard Lutnick ─ Carnage may be able to deliver a scripted speech, but I've never seen him successfully debate with anybody on neutral ground. This is something he goes out of his way to avoid because he and the Liberals only promise and lie and accomplish nothing positive.

Next I tuned in an 18-minute video uploaded earlier today to YouTube's Moose on the Loose channel: Bishnoi Gang Brags to Police — 1,000 Foot Soldiers Ready to Commit Extortion in Canada.

Changing pace, I then tuned in Resident Alien ─ episode seven ("Daddy Issues") of season four.

When it was done, I switched over to our T95Q Android 9 TV Box to access the USB drive inserted into it, and we were to get to approximately the 50-minute mark of the 2001 pilot for the series Redcap ─ it's basically a T.V. movie. My brother wanted to return to his bedroom for further bed rest, so we will likely watch the remainder of the feature tomorrow.

Without coffee, I have been feeling mentally foggy, so I was willing to nap long if the urge was present after my first block of sleep ─ I would turn over and try for a second block. However, my conscience would not allow me to attempt a second round of sleep. I knew my wife would be having to work the latter part of today, and I was unsettled about napping away her home time if she was finally up and out of her bedroom.

And so she was.

My brother had not yet left for a bus so he could engage his all-important daily drinking, but he soon enough departed.

As for my wife, she was quite busy in the kitchen, but she didn't finish a big pot of something she was creating, cautioning me before she left not to eat any of it. She also left a note to that same effect for anyone else who might have felt adventurous.

It was almost 3:30 p.m. when she left. I took that as my cue to engage the half hour of light exercising I usually tackle on a daily basis each afternoon if she is not home (my bedroom is too small and cluttered to allow any exercising).

She had her window wide open with no curtain obstructing the day outside, so I could see that it was remarkably sunny by that time ─ definite sunning weather if it was similar at the back of the house. But it was too late in the day for me ─ I need to start as much before 3 p.m. as possible.

I actually do have a pinkish or vaguely rosy tint to my exposed body from Thursday's hour and 27 minutes of sunning ─ my first this year. I was somewhat concerned that I would be risking sunburn with that much first exposure, but I could barely see the evidence on my skin.

I'll see how my schedule develops tomorrow ─ maybe I can sun again if the day is sunny.

I had a naked weigh-in, incidentally, after exercising in my wife's bedroom. Unhappily, despite eating and drinking nothing but water today, I was possibly as much as 184 pounds.

Although I will not be eating anything until after 6 p.m., I do intend to start drinking a dozen ounces of Domaine d'Or red wine (12% alcohol) before then because right now it is 4:59 p.m. and I am going to take my usual blogging break and watch an episode of a T.V. show here on my bedside computer.

I don't want to leave all of my drinking into the evening, for I plan on getting up at 6 a.m. so I can normalize enough to get out and do some local grocery shopping once the store a half mile off opens at 8 a.m.

I will most certainly be having a lovely mug of instant coffee with the works (including an aspirin) tomorrow morning!

I was delighted that my first show in the list rotation was The 100 ─ episode eight ("Anaconda") of season seven. My source was at M4uFree.cx.

The episode was extremely intriguing and gripping, but so bizarrely different because it was practically like watching some entirely different show. It was all about characters previously unfamiliar to me.

Still, I doubted any of the next two shows I was to watch would supplant The 100 from top spot.

The episode ended at 6:01 p.m., so I was cleared to have my only meal today before I watched or drank anything further.

Next up was Van Helsing ─ episode 10 ("Together Forever") of season four. My source was again at M4uFree.cx.

It was certainly entertaining enough, even though I vaguely recalled something of it pre-COVID when I used to sit up late drinking more than I tend to do now, watching shows with my brother. I just never left a record of where we left off from the series, so I am revisiting the series' later episodes.

I was finished a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) ahead of the show's conclusion at 7:24 p.m.

Incidentally, this episode featured famous professional wrestler Big Show as a sort of 'death match gladiator'. Also, I sure do have to credit the two actors portraying vampires Scab and Ivory for coming across over the series as being freakingly awesome!

But they're done now. Scab has died, and Ivory made human again.

Even so, actress Jennifer Cheon Garcia sure looked convincingly and fearsomely hot! I'm glad her human character is to continue despite her vampire self being cured.

It was disappointing to find that my final show would be Madam Secretary ─ episode 18 ("The Time is at Hand") of the first season. My source was to yet again be at M4uFree.cx.

Yes, the episode proved very good, so I don't quite know how to rate the three shows ─ normally Madam Secretary would be last, but I have spent some time in the recent few years watching videos related to the Waco siege as well as the Jonestown massacre.

Maybe I would place Van Helsing in third place this evening? The 100 comes out on top.

My second and final beer was done well before Madam Secretary was finished at 8:46 p.m.

I wonder why the actress (Wallis Currie-Wood) playing StevieMadam Secretary's eldest daughter ─ has gotten so few roles? I find her to be most appealing despite my 76 years. She deserves so much more activity, if that is what she wants.

Enough for today. It is presently 9:16 p.m., and I am going to publish this post, and then brush my teeth before I start finishing up whatever I need to here on my computer, and then get to bed.

By the way, my brother was back home at 9:10 p.m.
