I cannot take long with this post, for it is already 5:26 p.m. Suffice to explain that I spent an hour and 27 minutes sunning this afternoon ─ my first exposure this year.
Although the official stretch of time was from 2:38 - 4:05 p.m., I was of course out there longer than that setting up and so forth, and then the opposite when I was done. As well, I watered garden plants out there before coming into the house.
I then ate a slice of pizza and had most of the usual afternoon half hour light exercising in my wife's bedroom.
My early morning began at 6 a.m. Then at 7:30 a.m. as I was readying to visit the backyard tool shed for my early 15 minutes of exercises there, my younger brother emerged from his bedroom. Nevertheless, I still went ahead with the visit to the tool shed.
The first of six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups only resulted in two repetitions, and the succeeding five sets had one repetition in each set. And then came the usual squat work to strengthen my right knee and quadriceps.
I decided to join my brother for morning T.V. earlier than I usually do, banking that by 8:30 a.m. he would have seen enough repetitive news items in the news shows he jumps around to. And I was right.
At his invitation, I tuned in a 1¼-hour (1:16:54) video streamed two days ago to YouTube's AnitaK channel: BC Conservative Race Drama Explained!
Too little, too late! Timmy's cutting TFW's + BC Conservative Race Drama!
Anita's two guests were Anthony Russo and an anonymous dude whose X (formerly Twitter) handle is The Remanded (@TheRemanded) ─ like Anita, both are also British Columbians.
Believing that we were going to be catching up on some of the downloaded material that I have in a USB drive, I decided to first tune in Supernatural ─ episode 14 ("Good Intentions") of season 13.
I was to vaguely remember a wee bit of the episode from pre-COVID when my brother and I used to sit up in the evenings drinking and watching our shows together, but I never kept a record of where it was that we left off in the series when I returned us to it a few months ago.
Anyway, the episode finished barely past 10:30 a.m. ─ and then my brother announced that he was returning to his bedroom for further bed rest. So we watched nothing on the thumb drive!
That was a bummer.
I don't recall just when it was that I returned to my own bed for a nap, but it was before 11:30 a.m. To my surprise, I was to remain abed for over two hours ─ or so I believe. Normally I only have one bout of sleep during a nap, but this time I had three blocks of sleep that I can remember. It was wonderful! Obviously I needed it, for I felt none too refreshed when I rose at 6 a.m.
I think this basically catches me up. It is 5:58 p.m., so I am taking my blogging break now to watch my usual three different T.V. shows and get in a little drinking, starting off with a dozen ounces of Domaine d'Or red wine (12% alcohol) in a glass tumbler.
⭐⭐⭐
By the way, I neglected to mention that I napped so well that even with my bedroom window open, I never heard a thing of my brother mowing the front and back yard lawns ─ with the latter cut, it was why I seized the opportunity to sun.
My first show this evening was Superman & Lois ─ episode nine ("The Dress") of season three. My final (my first choice buffered to a standstill after quite a few minutes) source was at FMoviess.org. And it was done by 6:52 p.m.
I likely need to hyrdrate, for I began feeling unpleasant during the show, and overheated. Wine is not exactly hydration material, so my next two cans of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) ought to help with that.
The episode was good, and ended very sweetly. It also made me think of my own broken marital relationship these many past years now.
One element in the episode that I found distasteful was John Henry getting pilloried for using his war hammer to kill the Superman-strong Miller character who had been assigned to kill John Henry while making it as painful as he possibly could.
Superman later says to him that he didn't need to kill the killer because, "You always have a choice." Yeah, let some brutish freak beat you to death by breaking and rupturing as much of you as possible ─ that's definitely some choice.
This DC policy of not killing gets too damned tedious for me. Evil people who wantonly kill innocent people need to die ─ period.
I did feel better as I watched my second show. It was The Expanse ─ episode nine ("The Weeping Somnambulist") of season two. My source was at TVSeries.video.
It was also a good episode, though much less relatable than Superman & Lois.
The can of beer I drank during the episode probably helped, for I felt more like normal ─ sure, I was overheated due to the ambient temperature this very sunny day, but despite being somewhat damp from perspiration, I did not feel prey to heat stroke or something similar.
The show was done by 7:58 p.m.
My brother arrived back no later than 8:18 p.m. from wherever he had bused in the early afternoon to social drink ─ Bev's day is now fulfilled, I am sure.
My final show (accompanied by my second can of beer) was Stargirl ─ episode four ("Summer School: Chapter Four") of season two. My source was again at TVSeries.video. It is also a DC production, if anyone is unaware.
Notwithstanding, I think that I will give it the edge over Superman & Lois this evening, both of which topped The Expanse.
The temptation was there for a sitcom, but I quelled it easily enough. Though the Stargirl episode was done by 9:13 p.m., that is not truly very early in view of everything I have to deal with in closing down and being done with this computer for the night.
I even have to brush my teeth yet, that can take 15 minutes ─ and it is already 9:51 p.m. Therefore, I will neither watch nor drink anything further.
Tomorrow is a bath day, but I would like to sustain my sunning as well now that I have begun it this year. The thing is that I only see some faint reddening of my face. When I exercised earlier in my wife's bedroom, my body didn't seem noticeably rouged, so I don't know what's up with that.
But enough blogging for today!
