What a punishing night of ill sleep ─ and probably all because I sensibly got to bed at 9:30 p.m. last evening!
I was okay after initially feeling rather mentally restless upon getting to bed due to certain imaginings that almost saw me rise to entertain here at my bedside computer. But then before 1:30 a.m., I believe it was, I rose for some urinary relief, and that did it ─ sleep would no longer visit me.
Eventually I gave it up and rose, getting involved in locating and downloading a specific episode of The Graham Norton Show that I could find no source for. Specifically, it was the current season or series 33's New Year's Eve special.
It was a slow download, for I had to use a torrent., so the download was made possible with the μTorrent software I have months ago downloaded into my computer for this purpose.
It was after 4 a.m. when I returned to bed with my cellphone alarm still set for 6 a.m. However, I was to inexplicably find myself growing almost hopelessly chilly in bed, and this helped derail the achievement of much sleep. I only know that I must have had at least some because I would be aware of memories of what could only be dreams and not random and deliberate thoughts.
When I did rise at 6 a.m., the house seemed dreadfully chilly. When I hobbled downstairs to boil water for a mug of instant coffee with which I would be washing down an aspirin, I had to do some stationary marching to warm up as I awaited the boiling of the water.
By the way, it was raining again. I love it!
I was out to the backyard tool shed for my usual 15-minute exercise session around 7:40 a.m., but I was lacking after three consecutive sessions out there that opened with three pull-ups in the first set ─ I could only bear two pull-ups this time, and then had the usual single repetition in the remaining five sets of other pull-ups and chin-ups.
Then came the squat work to strengthen my crippled right knee and quadriceps.
Back in the house I gathered up a reasonably light first meal of my day and ate that here at my bedside computer.
My younger brother emerged from his bedroom right around 8 a.m. to watch his news shows downstairs and have some coffee. I waited till maybe 9:10 a.m. before joining him.
At the first commercial break around 9:15 a.m., I was invited to take over with our R69 Plus Android 14 TV Box, at which point I led off with a 2¾-minute (2:48) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's Tajana Cekic channel: Canada has gone 1984 ! Arresting you now for mental health issues.
Canada has gone full blown 1984…you can now get a warrant out for your arrest for mental health issues and mental health cops are a thing now 😬😳🫠
The next video I selected was 1¼ hours (1:16:00) and had been published May 22 to Rumble's Geopolitics & Empire channel: Anthony Freda: Dissident Art, Skynet Revolt, & Resisting the NWO.
Artist Anthony Freda describes his professional evolution from marketing cigarettes to children and war to the public for NYT and WSJ to eventually finding a home in alternative media as a dissident political artist in order to maintain his moral integrity. The conversation explores the heavy cost of dissent, including professional blacklisting and legal persecution for challenging official narratives. He expresses deep concern over the budding digital prison and particularly the rise of AI, which he views as a threat to human sovereignty. Anthony frames current global events as a spiritual battle between light and dark, urging listeners to resist state-sponsored tyranny and cultural inversion.
Maybe we got 10 minutes or even a little more into it, but my brother complained that he was finding it boring, so I cancelled out of it.
I then switched over to our T95Q Android 9 TV Box and we finally finished watching ─ in this which was likely our fifth sitting ─ a documentary over 2¾ hours long (2:50:39) that had been published February 28, 2022, to BitChute's ittabena channel: Why Johnny Can't Come Home.
Forty years ago in Des Moines Iowa...
It was all about 1982 child abductee John David Gosch, and was mostly the story as told by his mother, Noreen Gosch. I was surprised that my brother seemed to intently pas attention throughout, despite how long it took us to get through it.
After that we watched most of that New Year's Eve episode of The Graham Norton Show, breaking off during the entertainment performance near the end of the show. We'll probably carry on from there fairly late tomorrow morning.
My wife had a full workday today, not emerging from her bedroom until after 9:45 a.m., I believe. She showered, and was on her fairly long drive by 10:10 a.m.
I was to use her vacant bedroom for a half hour of light exercising beginning around 3:20 p.m. at most, I would say. I have since eaten my second and final meal of the day, and now at 5:05 p.m. I am commencing to feel some grogginess creeping in, for I never had my early afternoon nap ─ I only lay in my bed resting because I was convinced that my brother was going to be making a 'beer run' and I intended to go along.
I was correct.
I am now $84.10 poorer, but at least I have another two dozen cans of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) and another four-litre box of Domaine d'Or red wine (12% alcohol).
After we had gotten back home, my brother quickly enough left afoot for a bus to take him social drinking.
That rain did cease in the mid-morning, approximately.
I am taking my blogging break now to watch my usual three T.V. shows ─ whichever three or on the rotational list I keep; and of course I will be doing some drinking.
◯◯◯◯
I poured myself a dozen ounces of red wine into a glass tumbler and watched The Guardian ─ episode 19 ("Back in the Ring") of season two. My source was at M4uFree.cx.
As usual, a truly good episode. I was quite impressed by the muscularity of guest actor Taylor Sheridan. One can't always perceive what sort of physique lies beneath someone's street clothes.
The episode was done by 6:07 p.m.
I was not exactly pleased that my next show was to be Black Mirror ─ episode two ("Bête Noire") of season or series seven. The original villainess was played by actress Rosy McEwen, who did somewhat resemble Nicole Kidman; but that was not why I felt that I should know her from somewhere. And now I see at Wikipedia where I know her from ─ the baby-murdering and obsessed villainess from The Alienist (season two).
This episode of Black Mirror sure did get creepy, and I was desperate towards the end that the main character would somehow overcome the reality-changing of Rosy McEwen's evil character. And she did barely manage it ... but only to become as vainglorious and power-hungry as was her nemesis.
A disappointing show, and not what I watch T.V. for. At least it was only 50 minutes and not 80 or whatever the previous episode was. One can of beer served, and both were done by 7:23 p.m. My source had been at TVSeries.video.
My brother showed up at 7:42 p.m. from wherever he had earlier bused to.
My second and final beer was devoted to Psych ─ episode four ("Woman Seeking Dead Husband: Smokers Okay, No Pets") of the first series. My source was again at M4uFree.cx.
Admittedly I got more of a kick out of this episode than the previous where I was profoundly annoyed with the 'psych' character ─ so much so that I questioned if I would be able to continue with the series.
This episode was done by 8:37 p.m.
I have since brushed my teeth, and it is now 9:40 p.m., so I am going to commence shutting down that which needs so doing here on my computer. But I am feeling ... wayward.
