Seduction of Power

ClashDaily.com

While I was passing away the early evening yesterday, I watched the second-to-last episode of Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area ─ what a rousing Alamo-like shootout at the beginning, although it was only the imaginings of one of the characters who was envisioning the worst for himself and his 'confederates in crime'.

I had to download the episode onto a flash or thumb drive in order to watch it on T.V. via our Android TV Box because I was unable to locate a working source for an English-dubbed version. I wasn't interested in any subtitled versions ─ I want to look at the characters and their faces, not spend my damned time reading text.

I think that I used this WatchSeries link to find a source allowing the download.

I have grown to care for the characters in the gang at the mint ─ and that is all to the credit of the actors and actresses portraying them. I am going to miss them after I see the final episode ─ which I am in no rush to do.

And I do very much like looking at those actresses!

Once my brother was home, I tuned in an episode each of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Australian Ninja Warrior (the 2022 edition of "Australian Ninja Warrior: Record Breakers", and The Outpost.

And of course, I had two cans of the strong (8% alcohol) malt that I normally keep in stock.

As for this morning's T.V.-time with my brother, I led us off with a 14-minute video that was uploaded to Rumble's The Why Files channel last July 28 (2022): Chronovisor: The Vatican's Secret Device to See Through Time.

The Vatican's Secret Time Machine | The Story of the Chronovisor

Vatican City is an inspirational place. You don't need to be Catholic or even religious to appreciate the architecture, art, and the city's historical significance.

But there is a place within the Vatican that's rarely seen. Hidden beneath the city is an underground fortress. Inaccessible to the public and protected by armed guards and state-of-the-art security. The Secret Apostolic Archives.

Within the stone and steel reinforced walls are vaults, climate controlled rooms and over 50 miles of shelves. And on those shelves are countless texts, relics and artificacts collected by the church for over a thousand years.

One of the most intriguing objects hidden in the archive is called the Chronovisor. A device that can view events anywhere and any time in history.

For years, its existence was just a rumor. No proof of the Chronovisor was ever found.

But a book released by a Vatican priest would change all that.

Let's find out why.

Wikipedia devotes this mere paragraph to the story. However, they state that the Italian Benedectine monk Pellegrino Ernetti claimed that the machine allowed him to view into the past without sound. If that was the case, then how the heck was he supposed to have watched an original Greek "performance of the lost play Thyestes" by means of which he claimed to have been able to complete the lost final text to that play? Would he not have needed to have heard the dialogue?

Either Wikipedia erred in that statement that the machine did not reproduce sound, or else people were pretty darned stupid if they believed Ernetti. Did he actually know how to lip-read ancient Greek? Get real!

Next we watched an April 6 1½-hour upload to Rumble's Action4Canada channel: Climate Change Propaganda in Schools & Smart Cities with Tom Harris.

Tanya Gaw is joined by Tom Harris, the Executive Director of International Climate Science Coalition – Canada, to discuss the unscientific climate change propaganda that passes for education in today’s school system and the impact on 15 Minute Cities.

We finished up with a 52-minute video that I had previously downloaded from BitChute's Adaneth channel, and which had been uploaded there on September 5, 2022: Rome: Power & Glory | Seduction of Power (Episode 3).

Episode 3: Rome seemed to own the world. Her empire stretched from Scotland to the Sahara. Her army controlled three continents. Fifty million people lived under her laws. Rome's Empire was the greatest political prize the world had ever seen. "Seduction of Power" is the story of those who would do anything to win it. The same political system that had created the magnificent monuments of the Roman Empire, the Pantheon, the Coliseum, the Forum and provided "bread and circuses" for all, would prove a breeding ground for self-interest, assassination and civil wars.

The same highly-disciplined Legions that had conquered an area of more than two million square miles would dissolve into warring factions, be turned against Rome's own citizenry and in the end, prove unable to maintain the expanse of its conquests.

I have now downloaded episode four for future viewing ─ we are gradually working our way through the series.

The day has been primarily overcast, and there was even some rain for a while. Unexpectedly yesterday, we had some sunshine in the latter afternoon and into the earliest evening.

I will not be sitting up this evening ─ I plan to rise at 2 a.m. and quickly ready for one of my five-mile nighttime walks.

I have found myself despairing of late. I weary of being financially dependent upon my two stepsons because of the huge debt I have allowed their mother to plunge me into over the past 13 years. Now I am trapped.

If I must have my brother agree to a sale of our home and property, I will be disappointing my stepsons ─ I cannot again become immersed into any kind of debt by throwing in with them (and maybe my brother) and renting some far larger house where we could all have all the privacy from one another that we desired.

The truth is that I cannot bear living in Surrey, nor any place akin to it. I need to be where I can set foot into the day without having to cope with any number of neighbours and strangers within my ken. I want to be able to walk as much as I want and not see people nor heavy traffic and buildings everywhere ─ I want only the sights and sounds of Nature all around me.

I am soul-weary from living this life of self-isolation, a virtual prisoner within my own home, unable to bear venturing forth into the day because of the overwhelming populace surrounding me. I need to love people from afar ─ not be living cheek by jowl with them like I feel myself to be doing.

Lacking this liberty, I am just about set to surrender my life. I have failed in every respect. Indeed, my 73 years of existence is one of unforgivable failings in every respect.

If this is what is to come of me, then my greatest hope is that God will not bother resurrecting me to Judgment ─ just destroy whatever is my essence once I have died, and do not let me know aught of it. I plead guilty to all charges ─ annihilate me while I am asleep in death.

Tomorrow at 4 p.m. I am to have a telephone conversation with the bank representative dealing with our mortgage ─ the term expires next month. I sent the woman a well-crafted E-mail yesterday asking three pointed questions, but I have come to understand that she is bereft of the required attention span to be capable of coping with correspondence.

She never responds. She probably thinks that my vital questions can await our next conversation.

I am the opposite. I am abominable at retaining the broad scope of extended conversation, and I have never been a capable note-taker.

Consequently, I am feeling enormous resentment at the woman for her denseness.

Heck, through her this morning I was sent what was probably an automated E-mail with this statement concerning our scheduled telephone conversation tomorrow:

Here’s a quick reminder of your upcoming phone appointment, scheduled for Tuesday April 11, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.

It is scheduled for 4 p.m., for Pete's sake! I even replied back and pointed this out, but there was no followup from her.

I just feel so damned defeated with living this pointless life of mine.
