My younger brother held it together last evening, so we sat up into the midnight hour while I employed our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box for T.V. entertainment. He doesn't understand how to use it, so he only ever has the option of watching whatever he can find via our T.V.'s basic cable package.
It was good to get to bed, although I was not to have anything like a perfect night's sleep. I sleep in fragmented fashion.
There came a point, too, when I felt almost uncomfortably cool in bed. My brother had said that according to weather predictions he had been privy to, it's supposed to get colder this weekend than the sort of weather we have been experiencing recently. He said that beginning tonight, we might even have some snow.
This would be extremely remarkable, really. Thus far since the Fall, we have yet to see even the lightest dusting of snow here in the part of Surrey where we live. I had come to accept that for the first time in my memory, there would be no sign of snow on the ground hereabouts.
And I am 69 years old.
Nevertheless, it hasn't snowed yet. The possibility is there that the prediction will not hold true locally.
Anyway, I didn't know for certain if my wife was going to show up overnight after working the day at her friend's Thai restaurant, but there was to be no sign of her.
I remember rising once overnight to use the bathroom; and then I started my morning just about six hours after originally going to bed. I wanted to finish laying the foundation of a new post at one of my six hosted websites.
I was to get that done, and then I returned to bed around 9:30 a.m. or so for what was to prove a rather poor nap. My brother had gotten up beforehand and was downstairs having instant coffee and reading the Saturday morning edition of the Vancouver Sun that I subscribe to.
It was just after 11:00 a.m. when I next rose, discovering that my brother was already shut up in his bedroom resting again.
I decided to be productive, and managed to put some work into that new post, actually managing to complete what equates to be half a day's assignment of content.
My brother meantime rose again; and then just ahead of noon left for the afternoon ─ and perhaps even the entire day, for on Saturdays he usually ends up staying over at the home of his girlfriend Bev.
I queried him on this unusually early departure, and he averred that he wanted to get in a good walk at one of the parks, for it was fairly sunny over the morning, and he claimed not to have gotten any such activity in the past few days. Also, he was concerned that there would be snow on the ground tomorrow.
I was also to get in some exercising, but not by way of walking. I did some pull-ups out in the backyard tool-shed, along with a few other exercises. And later here in the house, I did a set of 10 overhead presses with each arm using my 43½-pound dumbbell.
I can't really press the weight. Rather, I have to bend my knees and essentially heave the weigh overhead from the shoulder. And then I offer some resistance as I lower the weight back down to the shoulder ─ which I avoid resting the weight upon.
The set of 10 repetitions with my left arm and then my right left me utterly exhausted, sad to say. In my heyday, I would do four such sets after first doing four sets of bent-over knee-curls, alternating each arm for each set.
Knowing this makes me feel pathetically feeble, but I have only relatively recently begun using the weight again after not using it for two or more years.
What else did I do this afternoon?
Well, I downloaded three more 'apps' into our Android TV Box.
We primarily rely upon the 'app' Movie Play Red to fetch episodes of the numerous T.V. series that we follow. This 'app' is an imitator of the wonderful 'app' Terrarium TV that was killed back in (I believe) October.
I was overjoyed to discover Movie Play Red a week or two after losing Terrarium TV.
But upon discovering this afternoon that there are other 'apps' that also base themselves upon Terrarium TV, I went through the process of finding and downloading three of them: Cinema; CyberFlix; and Titanium TV.
I only gave one of them a slight try ─ Titanium TV. It's format is practically a mirror of Movie Play Red, but I tested it by seeking links to episodes of two T.V. series.
With Movie Play Red, I had never been able to find any links for the premier episode of last year's new Murphy Brown, so we have yet to view the series. However, when I used Titanium TV, numerous links appeared!
I then gave the series The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco a shot. We've only been able to watch the series up to episode five on Movie Play Red because no links have appeared anytime I try for them for episode six.
Well, once again, Titanium TV produced numerous links.
Thus, if the other two 'apps' that I downloaded this afternoon are equally robust in independently finding sources for shows, then my brother and I are in superb standing!
I should have thought to look for sources for the premiere episode of another series I have never been able to find links for ─ a series called Banshee. This only occurred to me as I was writing about these three 'apps' newly discovered by me; but now that it's in mind, I will not forget.
But let's switch topics and look at some health-related articles.
If I was not a pensioner with only a limited pension income, I would love to give Moringa oleifera a try to see if it could work any magic on my complexion ─ sure, I'm old, but I have always had troublesome skin. Perhaps this plant is the solution that I never found?
This article ought to be of deep interest to women who are reluctant to use commercial products supposedly designed for use on the skin

You can easily find lots of other articles lauding the plant; but if you like, I will start you off with these three:
- StyleCraze.com: 30 Amazing Benefits Of Moringa Plant (Sahijan) For Skin, Hair And Health
- ELLE.com: Moringa - 4 Moringa Benefits That Are Good For Your Skin, Diet And Hair
- Food.NDTV.com: Skin Care: 6 Reasons To Add Drumstick Or Moringa To Your Beauty Regime
The next health-related topic I wish to bring up involves alcohol ─ and specifically, how a study has found that it appears to benefit elderly patients who have suffered heart failure. These three articles report on the research:

Heart failure patients live longer with booze │ WOW! Heart Patients Adding One Year to Their Lives?!

ScienceDaily.com
I found it interesting that a very few of the seniors who drank a wee bit more than the moderate drinkers derived even more longevity benefit.
And a big "Pooh!" to the female doctor uninvolved with the study who suggested that this longevity might not extend to younger heart failure patients.
Finally, I have the following good article on Vitamin D3 supplementation:
LifeSpa.com
I try to take 10,000 I.U.s daily during the months when I cannot sit out in the sunshine, but I have scant doubt that my sources do not derive from sheep lanolin. If fish oil vitamin D3 is a challenge to digest, I certainly have never noticed any symptoms..
And since I tend to only have two meals a day, I take 5,000 I.U.s with each meal.
I will add one more article, simply because of its curious nature:

My wife and her two sons were in Bali early last year after arranging a small reunion there with five of their Thailand family members.
I uploaded my wife's photos into a Google Photos album shortly after she was back here in Canada.
Today, Google Photos notified me that it had created a collage from some of the photos as a means of commemorating this day (February 2) back in 2018:
Now here are the four original photos, beginning with the left column:
My wife and some of her family rented some of these ATVs and went on a guided jungle tour ─ more of a wild ATV ride:
And now the second column:
I still have to make a post at my private blog, but I need to rest my eyes first.
Following the rest, though, I may in fact head out on a short hike to the market four blocks away and do some grocery shopping ─ it would be my first such excursion since developing a flu on January 14. Today is the first day that I have pretty much felt normal again.
