Vitamin D Supplementation Can Help Many with COPD │ Vinpocetine and Memory Enhancement │ Optimize BDNF Production and Vitalize Your Brain

My wife was home somewhat early from her day of work at her friend's Thai restaurant yesterday ─ at most, it was 10:45 p.m.

She didn't waste too much time before going to bed, whereas my younger brother and I sat up watching T.V. shows via our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box.

I didn't realize it, for he only let me know today during the noon-hour ─ he is still feeling some distress from whatever likely bug that caused him stomach disorder on Monday.

He said he still has an occasional need to throw up.

Nevertheless, he stayed the course last evening and we watched T.V. until just after midnight. And it was 12:23 a.m. once I was settled into bed.

Somewhere around 3:30 a.m. I was sufficiently awake that I nearly rose to get to work on the post I am constructing at one of my six hosted websites; but I held off, and managed to lapse back into some further sleep.

But within 10 minutes of the arrival of 6:00 a.m., I did rise, and found that my eldest stepson was shut up in the bathroom as he readied for work.

I managed to sit here at my computer until I had fulfilled the day's content assignment at that website post, by which time it was nigh 10:00 a.m.

I waited until 10:10 a.m. and then opened the bedroom door to alert my wife that the morning was wasting on, for I thought that she had another 11:00 a.m. start time at the restaurant.

But she sleepily informed me ─ with gratitude ─ that today her start time would be 4:00 p.m., so she was going to sleep in.

Anon my brother emerged from his bedroom. There was a video I wanted to watch with him relating to proper breathing, and how most of us are doing it improperly.

So I turned on the T.V. and tried to find it with the YouTube 'app' downloaded into our Android TV Box. I don't think that it was yet 10:30 a.m.

But he straightaway complained that he didn't want anything like that ─ "too boring." Instead, he requested another episode of something else ─ a Vietnam War documentary.

I was in dire need of more sleep, and had only intended to sit through the breathing video for his benefit. That he expected me to fetch up the episode he requested and spend what would probably be at least 1½ hours watching the documentary was too much.

Annoyed, I got it playing (he doesn't know how to operate the Android TV Box), and then without a word I just turned about and came upstairs here to my computer, which I keep in a small room next to my bedroom.

And I bedded down on the floor in front of it.

Due to some emotional turmoil, I had difficulty relaxing enough to easily fall asleep. But eventually it did come.

When I later roused enough to wonder on the time, it was well into the noon-hour. So I hauled myself to my feet, and felt unexpectedly rested.

My wife was still shut up in our bedroom.

The day was brilliantly sunny, so it seems that my brother wanted to get in another park walk somewhere like he was to have done yesterday.

And so not much beyond the midway point of the noon-hour, he drove away for the afternoon.

My wife was not too much longer in bed.

I had fixed up my day's second hot caffeinated beverage and was drinking that. And then while she fussed about in the bedroom with laundry, I went on out to the backyard tool-shed and had a session of exercising there.

When I returned into the house, my wife was showering.

Anyway, right now it is 2:35 p.m. and she left a short time ago to do some grocery shopping at T&T Supermarket at Surrey Place (Central City), so she will be home again soon enough. I am taking the opportunity to get this post underway.

I have a major bitch to air.

It concerns blogging software that I paid out well over $1,000 (Canadian) for ─ possibly back in 2010.

The software is called WP Mage, and it was flogged by Greg Jacobs.

The promise was that a purchaser could automatically create posts that could even be pre-dated or post-dated ─ the post-dated posts would publish into the future on the dates to which they had been assigned.

Well, one of my hosted websites was set up to have posts publish all the way through to late December of this year.

However, last Summer I believe it was, I discovered that the software had ceased working ─ I suppose because it had been deactivated online at its source.

My credentials no longer were recognized ─ I could not kick-start it.

And now I have untold numbers of posts containing nothing but the software coding:

The membership website still exists ─ or at least the login page does.

But after logging in, if an attempt is made to access one's account, the member is taken to an entirely blank page. Likewise, the page for the "Mage Support Desk" is also a bust:

We're having temporary issues
We're looking into it now, and we'll be back soon. Sorry for any inconvenience!
In the interim, please use support@wpmage.com to open and track support tickets
This "temporary" issue has displayed ever since I first discovered this mess last Summer, so I don't know how long this has been going on prior to then.

I could ill afford that investment, but I gambled it at the very end of my employment life. And now I see that it was not a lasting investment at all. I have nothing to show for that lost money.

Yet Greg Jacobs is still going strong, periodically coming out with new and incredibly expensive affiliate / software products that are so far beyond my means if I was interested in any of them ─ and still had even the most vestigial faith in the guy ─ that it sickens and burns me.

"A fool and his money."

That was me, so desperate to believe.

Anyway, my wife did come back from shopping, and then did some cooking. And before 3:25 p.m. had left on her drive to the restaurant, saying she'd see me tonight.

I want to touch upon some health-related topics now, so let's start with one that concerns chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and some articles talking about a recent study that proved escalating the body's levels of vitamin D could alleviate the worst symptoms of the disease ─ but only in those sufferers who are actually low in vitamin D:

JacksDailyDose.com

MedPageToday.org

Consumer.HealthDay.com

Healthline.com

MIMS.co.uk

I don't have COPD, yet even I take lots of supplemental vitamin D3 during those months when I cannot sit outside in the sunshine ─ 10,000 I.U.s daily, to be exact.

The stuff is so inexpensive, too ─ I believe that at least one of those articles quoted a researcher or doctor who expressed his (incorrect) opinion that people who were not technically low in vitamin D were wasting their money by supplementing with it.

Well, that is sort of true ─ a person should also be supplementing with magnesium, and ensuring that there is also an ample intake of vitamin K (supplemental vitamin K2 is best). All three work in tandem ─ this is especially important for bone health.

But concerning COPD, one last article I would like to link to has a veritable roster of measures a person with COPD should study up on and put into practice:

LifeExtension.com

The next item I wish to trot forth concerns a possible memory enhancer that does seem of benefit for so many seniors, if this article is to be believed:

HSIonline.com

Wikipedia's article Vinpocetine is certainly critical to the extreme ─ but Wikipedia typically has very little to say that is favourable for any topic in the alternative and natural health arena.

I am also rather surprised by that Wikipedia article's claims on widespread labeling errors of vinpocetine products. I did a search at Amazon that you can find beneath this post, and it seems apparent to me that the labels are extremely clear as to the potency of the various products that were turned up.

Anyway, here are three other descriptive articles on vinpocetine ─ I deliberately avoided linking to any that had their own products to sell:
I want to link to this final article because it seems to tie in nicely with both of the previous two topics:

LifeSpa.com

Clearly it is to our great benefit to enhance the presence of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) within us ─ yet one more wonderful blessing that comes of exposure to sunshine in our warmer months.

The following three articles should fortify your understanding of BDNF and how best to encourage its abundance:
The consensus in those articles seems to me to be that we should try to develop or produce BDNF within ourselves, and not simply resort to supplements.

At least, that was my gleaning.

'Tis now time to present a few photos taken just over a year ago when my wife and her two sons arranged a small reunion in Bali with five of their Thailand family members.

All of the three photos were taken on January 30, 2018. The first two both feature my wife wearing the hat, along with her two sons ─ the shirtless eldest lad was 23 years old, and his younger brother was 20 years old.

The young lass is the wife of my wife's nephew ─ he was the photographer.

And now I must create a post at my private blog.
