My younger brother has been moderating his alcohol consumption here at home in the evenings this week due to that stomach distress that must still be causing him some difficulty.
And so it was that I was to sit up late operating our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box, and I think my bedtime was not until just abut 12:45 a.m.
I am unsure if I checked the time overnight before finally doing so shortly after 5:00 a.m., I believe.
It must be a testament to just how much of a sleep deficit I am in of late that I cannot clearly recollect these times.
At any rate, upon making that time check, I then looked across to my wife's side of the bed, and it was apparent that she was likely there. She had not yet come home last night when I retired.
She has rather long workdays at her friend's Thai restaurant.
I typically wear earplugs and a blindfold when I go to bed, but I normally sleep so fitfully that I usually am aware when she has come into our bedroom. Yet for the second time this week, I have been oblivious to her appearance in the bedroom and her preparations to join me for sleep.
Anyway, I got myself up, and soon enough I was at work on the day's content assignment at the post I have in development at one of my six hosted websites.
My eldest stepson was to blow off the workday, and thus never bothered rising to ready himself to go anywhere.
I worked on the website post until the assignment was completed, and then just ahead of 8:00 a.m. I bedded down on the floor here in front of my computer to seek some further sleep.
I had noticed that there was a slight dusting of new snow outside.
Bedding down on the floor here is my usual practice to avoid disrupting my wife's sleep, for she still works for a living ─ I do not.
On Fridays, though, she generally does not start work until 4:00 p.m. However, the previous two Fridays were full days for her ─ consequently, I did not know what the case was to be for today.
Dutifully, I set my cellphone's alarm for 9:59 a.m. just in case she needed me to rouse her to ready for a full day.
I failed to sleep very well at all. I was to checked the time once before it was near 9:30 a.m. as yet; and then I checked it again at 9:49 a.m. and decided to just get myself up.
My brother was downstairs watching T.V.
I fixed up my day's first hot caffeinated beverage, and then at 10:00 a.m. joined him to take over the T.V. ─ i.e., I began using our Android TV Box. He doesn't understand how to operate it, so that devolves upon me.
I had something different in mind than our usual T.V. shows; and after some failure with the Movie Play Red 'app' to have a satisfactory source for the feature I sought, I found success with the Titanium TV 'app.'
It was the documentary City of Ghosts that I called up for us to watch.
I had found a decent link using the Movie Play Red 'app,' but the documentary there lacked subtitles ─ and most of the dialogue in the documentary is Arabic.
The source I found with the Titanium TV 'app' had those essential subtitles.
I am no fan of subtitled movies because always focussing on reading the translations results in too much of the cinematography being missed. Sudden actions happen without being noticed; and quick expressions and other features of the film take place and are unseen because I am too intent on reading the English translations.
But a documentary is different.
My brother probably missed a third of the documentary because he was constantly getting up ─ initially to fix himself some breakfast; once or twice to make himself an instant coffee; then to likely use the bathroom; and he even tended to his laundry a couple of times ─ first putting his laundered items into the dryer, and afterward he took the dried clothing out of the dryer and spent time folding the items.
So I am sure that if he were to be asked of his impression of the documentary, he would be fully negative.
He can be annoying in this fashion.
Following the documentary, I tuned in an episode of one of our usual shows that was something like 57 minutes in length. So by the time it was done, it was at least 12:40 p.m., and my brother headed on upstairs to his bedroom to rest up ere taking off for the afternoon.
Incidentally, I had checked on my wife at 10:10 a.m. to see if she needed to be up early, but she confirmed that this was a short workday for her.
And so here it is 1:46 p.m. as I type these words, and my brother is still shut up in his room, and my wife is still abed in ours. I feel very short on sleep, but I decided to begin this post in lieu of once again bedding down on the floor here before my computer.
I think right now I am going to take a break and see about having some exercise out in the backyard tool-shed, and then have my day's first meal. I'm feeling rather hungry.
oooooooooooooo
And now it is 3:32 p.m. My wife left for work about 10 minutes ago; and since she had her youngest son with her, I expect that maybe she will first drive him to work about a mile from here.
She said that she would next see us on Monday.
My brother never emerged from his bedroom until after 3:00 p.m., and is still home.
By the way, although it felt to be cold enough to be freezing when I went out for my exercising, the slight blanket of snow that had been laying frozen in areas shaded from the Sun was now soft, and I could hear lots of dripping.
That particular snow accumulated early in the week; the stuff that fell this morning left no trace.
But returning to my wife for a moment, last night before I went to bed I was almost stirred by a news item I saw here at my computer.
Apparently the late king's firstborn ─ a daughter named Ubolratana ─ has announced that she will run for the title of Prime Minister.
And the kicker is that she will be running as the head of the same political party that has twice recently had a Shinawatra (Thaksin and then his sister Yingluck) as Prime Minister only to have the military overthrow these two democratically elected Prime Ministers.
But you can read about the current state of affairs for yourself:
CNN.com
She sure doesn't look 67 years old.
I hope to blazes she wins and trounces the current military dictator who thinks he can somehow win democratically in that coming election.
I have a few health-related matters to bring up now ─ let's lead off on the topic of cancer.
Anyone with cancer who also has the means might care to pursue treatment with a substance variously called dichloroacetic acid (DCA) or dichloroacetate or dichloroacetate sodium:
HSIonline.com
That article's cautions on sources needs to be rigidly adhered to, however. I sure wouldn't be ordering any online ─ I don't know enough about it.
If you want some further information, try these three articles ─ I weeded out any write-ups originating at clinics or other institutions that looked to me to actually be offering treatments with DCA. I tend to be suspicious of their adequate lack of bias:
- Healthline.com: DCA and Cancer
- CancerTutor.com: DCA (dichloroacetate sodium) treatment for cancer
- CancerTreatmentsResearch.com: Dichloroacetate (DCA): An Accessible Drug to Fight Cancer
That same first website also had an interesting report on a U.S. survey that has found that almost 40% of those polled believe that cancer can be cured with alternative methods not involving radiation therapy or chemotherapy.
I wanted to link to the article, but it doesn't seem to have been published as yet, even though I received it via E-mail back on January 28.
That being so, I will reproduce the article here now:
The cancer SHOCKER that's got doctors SPOOKED
The mainstream is running scared! They're NOT terrified of a new disease. They're NOT worried about hurting patients with the side effects of their sickening meds. And they're certainly NOT scared of an FDA slap on the wrist. But there's one thing they're absolutely terrified of... and they just admitted it out loud for perhaps the very first time. They're AFRAID of YOU!You're better informed than ever... and ready to make your own decisions about your healthcare.A new survey reveals MILLIONS of Americans have discovered the truth about cancer. And it's exactly what the mainstream has COVERED UP all along.
The cat's out of the bag
The survey commissioned by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) finds that 40 percent of Americans believe cancer can be cured with "alternative" therapies.More importantly, the survey also finds that patients have learned the ugly reality behind most so-called cancer "care"...These treatments often DON'T work! The feds have approved many of them, NOT based on any real-world measures... but on the kinds of results that can only be seen on scans. Some new drugs, for example, can slow the growth of a tumor... which certainly SOUNDS like a winner. But that's literally ALL they do. They don't extend OR improve lives! This isn't rare. It's shockingly common...A 2016 analysis of 36 cancer drugs found 31 of them FAILED to prove they helped patients live longer or better. Then of course there are those side effects. Oh, baby, those side effects.Maybe the cancer hasn't killed you (yet)... but the drugs will make you feel like death while you're on them. And -- if you make it that far -- for years after, too, with long-term damage to your immune system. Some of these drugs can even CAUSE other cancers. In an interview with MedPage Today, the head of the ASCO called the report "frightening."You can bet it is... to the mainstream. The jig is up!Patients are awakening to the horrors of conventional treatments and learning the truth about treatments that really do work and without toxic side effects. But the mainstream ain't goin' down without a fight...And with the system firmly in the hands of those wishing to protect the conventional (not to mention obscenely profitable) status quo, things are only going to get worse. They'll push the feds into cracking down on natural therapies and non-conventional treatments and try to FRIGHTEN people away from them.Don't be scared. If you have cancer, look for doctors versed on non-drug therapies including laetrile, Essiac, graviola, and intravenous vitamin C.
You can read more about the survey at ASCO.org: National Survey Reveals Surprising Number of Americans Believe Alternative Therapies Can Cure Cancer.
Anyone with cancer should arm themselves with as much knowledge as possible.
Now I have two articles to present that may be of some interest to anyone reading this post. Both of them are from the same source ─ Dr. Marc S. Micozzi.
The first works at clarifying the differences between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis ─ even physicians call it wrong all too often.
The second article involves clarification on the two main types of prostatitis ─ i.e., inflammation of the prostate gland.
DrMicozzi.com
I've had knee osteoarthritis since at least my mid-20s as a result of excessive running in improper footwear, and overdoing it with squats when I was probably doing them incorrectly and to excess.
The squats didn't involve using a weight; but I was doing them full-range, and it seems to me that I was forcing out as many as 260 in a set by the time I stopped.
My thinking was always to do the fullest range of any exercise I performed, so I was undoubtedly torturing my poor knees.
I also suspect that I have a damaged prostate gland. However, I have never bothered to get myself checked out.
I am 69 years old and have a number of physical troubles that could benefit from professional attention, but I don't care enough about myself to seek that attention. If God only wants me to die in unfulfillment after all these years, then I guess that's how it's going to be.
I still have to create a post at my private blog, so I wish to bring this post to a close with seven more photos taken just over a year ago when my wife and her two sons arranged a small reunion in Bali with five of their Thailand family members.
The first three photos feature my youngest stepson who was 20 years old at the time; and all seven of the photos were taken on January 30, 2018:
My brother did head off this afternoon ─ it was around 3:45 p.m. He professed that even though it was mainly overcast, and it was later in the afternoon than he usually heads out, he was going to try and get in a park walk somewhere.
And since I suspect that he is still somewhat at odds with his stomach trouble, he will likely not be out too late into the evening.
