πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ OxyContin and the Ridiculously Permissive FDA

Oh, this has not be a particularly good day at all.

As a result of my degeneration this afternoon, I sated my addiction rather than working on the day's content assignment for the post I have in production at one of my six hosted websites.

And so I failed to meet that minimum content quota. In fact, I only supplied half of a normal day's work.

The only other item I care to trot out in this post concerns a very good rant I read this morning that targeted America's FDA; and by extension, of course, the U.S. government.

I would link to the article at JacksDailyDose.com, but for some reason the website is offline right now.

Consequently, I am going to reproduce the full article here. I received it in an E-mail this morning, so I really do not know whether it has actually been published at Jack Harrison's website ─ only now have I attempted to view it at the website which I am presuming does have it on display.

Anyway, here is the article:
Uncle Sam doesn't care if you keel over DEAD (Here's the PROOF)

It's some racket the government has going, isn't it?

They shake us down for TRILLIONS in taxes, even while lots of seniors are struggling to get by.

We ought to be getting silver-platter service for all of that cash.

But our government STILL cares more about special interests and mega-corporations than it cares about us.

In fact, one federal agency has just PROVEN that it's willing to let you DIE rather than stand up to the drug companies.

Let me show you what I mean...

I'm sure you've seen the news reports about how Purdue Pharma has filed for bankruptcy.

These are the folks who produce OxyContin (oxycodone) and helped usher in the whole opioids painkiller crisis.

They're facing something like 2,600 different lawsuits all around the country, so bankruptcy was kind of a no-brainer.

But think about this for a second...

OxyContin is a drug that's KILLED many people... that's triggered THOUSANDS of lawsuits... and that just drove a multi-billion-dollar company into bankruptcy.

SO WHY THE HELL CAN YOU STILL BUY IT?!

With all of the damage OxyContin has caused, you'd think it would be a slam-dunk case for the Food and Drug Administration to pull it from the market.

But you could walk into your doctor's office TODAY and get an Oxy prescription, no problem.

Apparently it hasn't destroyed enough lives, and it will be allowed to destroy more.
It's disgusting that the FDA won't take the simple step of banning OxyContin... that the FDA cares so little about your life.

But I've been telling you for years that the FDA is in Big Pharma's pocket -- they work for the drug companies, not us.

They won't ban OxyContin because they pretty much never ban anything. If Big Pharma wanted to sell the Jonestown Kool-Aid as a cough syrup, the FDA would probably allow it.

But, seriously... if the FDA won't ban a drug that's caused as many problems as OxyContin, how seriously do you think they take problems with other drugs?

This is why the FDA's stamp of approval means less than nothing. Skip out on the prescription drugs whenever you can.

Because Big Pharma sure as heck isn't looking out for you. And neither is our government.
This piece resonates with so much stark truth that I cannot believe that the American public doesn't broadly realize this utterly shameful reality.

My own country of Canada also has some very flawed federal government departments and agencies guilty of a similar public disservice.

However, I do not have time to say more about it.

Right now it is already after 8:00 p.m., and I have yet to have some supper. I am expecting to be getting to bed early this evening, for I do believe that my younger brother is going to be late in arriving home this evening.

I sat up until just after 1:00 a.m. last night due to operating our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box to fetch up episodes of a couple of the T.V. series we follow, for he doesn't understand how to operate the device.

I have no desire for another late evening.

And since I never napped today, I have sound hope of actually being able to get to sleep reasonably soon after I am to bed.

Anyway ─ supper beckons, so I here take my leave....
