Since my younger brother was not home last evening at the arbitrary 9:00 p.m. deadline that I have for him, I was to bed by about 9:20 p.m. because I did not care to have to sit up until deep into the midnight hour operating our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box so we could watch episodes of some of the T.V. series we follow.
I had already done that the previous night, and I hate losing out on early a.m. walks that are even of short duration ─ my body needs to be retrained to accept the activity.
Also, I was scheduled to have lunch today with three former co-workers; and since I would thus not be exercising today, at least I would be able to put in four sets of pull-ups on the gymnastics-style rings at the elementary school playground nearly a half mile from here if I got out on a walk in the early a.m.
I had considerable trouble getting to sleep, however. Nevertheless, around 12:40 a.m. I felt awake enough once again to get up ─ my wife had come home at some point from her long day working at her friend's Thai restaurant, and I was keenly aware of her intrusions into the bedroom despite the earplugs and blindfold I wore.
My brother had apparently just gone into his bedroom for the night, for when I emerged from my bedroom I saw that his bedroom light was still on (as evidenced beneath his bedroom door), and he was busy in his ensuite shower room brushing his teeth and shaving ─ his nightly ritual ere bed.
My wife soon enough went to bed; her youngest son remained up, but ultimately he finally turned out the lights downstairs and went to his bed, too.
I worked on a new post I recently began at one of my six hosted websites, and kept busy with this until after 3:30 a.m. Then before it was yet quite 4:00 a.m., I readied myself and set off on the walk to the elementary school.
I almost did not go, for I just wanted to go back to bed. I needed the boost that a black coffee would have provided; but with that noon-hour obligation before me, I dared not jeopardize my hopes of any further sleep once I returned to bed following my dark walk.
Fortunately, once I was dressed and outside under the clear sky in the chilly night, I was more motivated.
I had my walk of what was probably something over a mile, and the pull-ups; and I was back to bed by maybe 5:15 a.m. I remained there for approximately four hours.
I kept the luncheon date, for I had no excuse ─ one of the three co-workers was going to hook up with me and give me a ride. Had I been expected to walk the ¾ of a mile to Donegal's Pub, I would have made my excuses and backed out of the tryst.
I confess that I failed to meet up with Barb at our appointed rendezvous location before she got there and phoned me ─ heck, I had not even yet left home. So she had to wait while I hustled the three or so blocks to where she was waiting for me.
Even so, when we got to the Donegal's Pub area and parked, there was another wait ─ couple Steve & Angela had not shown up. Barb correctly surmised that their vehicle was not present, so we waited in hers instead of going in to the pub to wait.
I am glad that I got to reunite with the three, but it was too costly for my liking. I had two glasses of beer, and ate a "Black & Blue" burger with fries. I always feel awkward when it comes to paying my tab, so I probably overdid the tip ─ I gave up $30 in total.
Yet Angela was already talking of us hooking up again at the same location on a Wednesday when chicken wings are the pub's specialty ─ I just can't afford to do so with my limited pension income.
And especially with Christmas shopping still ahead!
I took two photos, and Angela's husband Steve also took two photos using my iPhone 5's camera. He then took a couple of photos with his own device, but I don't expect I will ever have access to those.
Here are the two photos that I took of him, Angela (centre), and Barb ─ it was 1:46 p.m., and we had finished paying up and were readying to leave:
And these are the two photos taken by Steve using my camera at 1:47 p.m.:
Obviously that is me seated in Steve's spot beside Angela.
It would be great to get together again, but I just cannot do so in this fashion. I would prefer doing so at one of our homes, but I'm not going to volunteer mine ─ it's a mess.
After Barb got me most of the way home, I found that my brother was still here; but he soon enough readied himself and left for the afternoon. He's walking, having incurred a driving suspension Monday evening.
Once he was gone, I wasted little time seeking a needed nap.
