Almost Like Summer!

I believe that I was into my bed right around 11:00 p.m. last evening after taking leave of my younger brother, for I have it established with him now that I prefer not to be sitting up into the a.m. anymore watching T.V. with him.

We watch our shows through 'apps' that I have downloaded into our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box that only I am able to operate.

I suppose that I got to sleep without any undue trouble; and I never felt compunction to make a check of the time until around 3:30 a.m. So that was when I rose to put some work into the post I have on the go at one of my six hosted websites.

I also had other plans ─ a trek to the Real Canadian Superstore to do some grocery shopping as soon after its 7:00 a.m. opening as would be possible for me. I do not drive, so I would have to walk.

The nearest outlet location (Google map) is a round trip of about 5.625 miles.

It always seems to take me longer to ready myself for the outing than I ever expect. This morning, it was already approaching 6:30 a.m. before I was on my way.

It is no longer dark at that time of morning, so I no longer feel comfortable about taking along my flashlight / stun gun. However, the type of persons who might be a threat tend not to be abroad at that time of the morning on a Sunday. In fact, of the very few people that I did cross paths with during my hike, I think that I likely encountered more solitary (and clearly athletic) women than I did men.

I even exchanged wishes of "good morning" with two separate women, the youngest of whom actually smiled and herself initiated that most welcome greeting.

It truly gladdens my heart when I encounter friendly women like that ─ probably because it makes me feel trusted.

I arrived at the store no later than 7:15 a.m. As yet, few shoppers were present. However, by the time I had my purchases selected and was ready to pay for them, I had to stand at the end of a line-up of perhaps six other shoppers ─ each of us standing in a specially demarcated space designed to keep us a few feet in separation from each other (COVID-19 precautions).

And when I exited the store, there were already as many as 10 shoppers lined up to be allowed entry.

Clearly, I arrived none too soon to do my shopping!

And this time, I brought along two tote bags so that I would not have to struggle my heavy load home the better than 2¾ miles while bearing the weight in alternating fashion with just one arm at a time.

Note that I had also brought along a face mask ─ my wife had given me three of them on Friday. However, I saw no need to use one at the store. And when I was paying for my purchases, I asked the young lass serving as cashier if she thought that the store would ever be making such masks mandatory?

She wasn't wearing one; but she opined that it was yet possible such a mandate might be put in place if the store ever became too overrun with shoppers, and infections increased around here far more seriously than has been the situation to date.

I was back here at the locked front door of my home by 8:32 a.m. at most.

No one else was yet risen. And even though I remained up for a little more than a further half hour before returning to bed around 9:15 a.m., that was still the case even then.

The sky had been cloudless from outset, so I knew we were in for an exceptionally sunny day.

I was probably in bed for nearly two hours, but I didn't sleep all that well. My exertions had taken a fair toll, so it was as if I was physically recovering from considerable abuse. Maybe my overtaxed body was resonating too starkly for there to be the requisite comfort that would have resulted in sound sleep.

By the time I rose, my younger brother was of course already downstairs reading the Sunday morning edition of The Province that I subscribe to, and drinking instant coffee. Even so, by the time I fixed up my hot caffeinated beverage, he had finished with the newspaper and turned on the T.V.

I wanted to partake of the sunshine, but the spot where I like to sit was still shaded, so I decided to watch a YouTube video that I have been wanting my brother to see: Hydrogen Peroxide Therapy- Information and Instruction with Dr. Mercola

He may have been a tad skeptical initially, but he has an open enough mind, and I am sure he came away convinced of the probable wisdom of giving the therapy a try.

We don't have a nebulizer (nor the recommended 'food grade' hydrogen peroxide), but I plan to locate a nebulizer online and place an order for one ─ probably from AliExpress. I haven't yet researched the device very much, but Amazon Canada doesn't seem to offer too very much of appeal ─ and that also goes for pricing.

Amazon U.S. is far superior in both contexts ─ I linked at the bottom of this post to a search that I made there which ought to prove my point.

As for my sunning, I prefaced it with some exercise out in the backyard toolshed after I first engaged some breathing exercises to increase my body's level of nitric oxide.

Then attired only in a pair of cutoffs, at 12;29 p.m. I began just over 40 minutes of sunning while slunk low into a deck- or lawn-chair and facing directly into the Sun.

I must say, I am loving this weather!

Anyway, it is now approaching 6:45 pm., so I would like to bring this post to a close. My brother went out for the afternoon, but he will undoubtedly be arriving back home at any time now. Heck, maybe even my wife will show up (she tends to spend her weekends somewhere in Vancouver).

I hope that everyone who happens to see this post is doing well.
