I wasn't feeling particularly tired last evening, so I watched T.V. with my younger brother until 11:00 p.m. before taking my leave to quickly ready and get to bed. We do so via our T9 8.1 Android TV Box that only I operate.
About four hours later I was up from bed to put more work into the post I am constructing at one of my six hosted websites. I was to remain up until very shortly after 5:00 a.m., if I am remembering correctly.
I had been feeling exceptionally hungry while I was up, but I regularly resist taking in any sustenance until at least 10:00 a.m. when I will richly prepare my day's first hot caffeinated beverage that is most sustaining.
After some further sleep, I was a little disappointed to check the time and see that it was only something like 8:15 a.m. ─ I was still oddly unnaturally hungry. I had been unable to have a bath early the previous evening because my eldest stepson usurped the bathroom first and showered away most of the hot water. So I had to resign myself to going without a bath and joining my brother for the session of T.V.-watching that evening.
Note that I had not previously bathed since the Monday before ─ I am one of those who prefers not to disrupt my body's external microbiome, for I understand that a healthy population of protective microbes on one's skin is a vital state.
Anyone who cares about their protective internal microbiota should also be concerned with the populations of 'beneficial' bacteria and any other microorganisms living upon his or her skin ─ washing them away by showering or bathing once and sometimes even twice a day is unnecessary and potentially even harmful for most people.
Or so I believe.
And so I tend to only bathe every four or so days. Naturally, I will make exceptions for underarms and 'private' regions ─ particularly if I am going into the public.
And so it was this morning that after spending some more time here at my computer, I decided to have my missed bath then ─ but first, I was going to shave off the beard that I had been wearing since last October (on occasion I would trim it somewhat during that time).
I made this choice to shave because I have been managing to accrue time seated out in the backyard in recent days this past week sunbathing my shaven head ─ and even my torso on two such sessions. I felt it best for me to have most of my face once again coloured by the Sun, and not covered up with a beard.
Even so, I will grow back my moustache, and probably some beard around my mouth and upon my chin. But for now, I am fully bare-faced.
Thus it was that I entered the bathroom to begin this lengthy process around 9:00 a.m.; and to my great delight it was just after 10:00 a.m. when I again emerged from the confines of that tiny room ─ I was free to enjoy my day's first hot caffeinated beverage.
To explain, this drink involves instant coffee and natural cocoa powder sweetened with demerara brown sugar, honey, and blackstrap molasses, the whole of which is then creamed with heavy whipping cream (33% butterfat).
Due to the quantity of extra ingredients, I need a large mug in order to have my drink retaining the heat of the boiling water I pour into it. A mere coffee cup would result in an already too-cool beverage.
With my newly exposed face, I wanted to ensure that I got in some further sunning today. However, the morning had been quite cloudy. When finally I went outside to try and sit for 40 minutes beginning at 1:19 p.m., a massive dark cloud suddenly obscured the Sun.
I was bare-footed, but I had on blue denim jeans, and a long-sleeved black shirt over a tee-shirt. However, the miserably chill breeze that was present under that mass of cloud proved far too unpleasant. Furious, I had to give it all up after a very few minutes and come back into the house.
The mass of cloud was so extensive that it looked like it could take the full 40 minutes to fully transit its obscuration of the Sun. I needed a nap, so I directly went up to my bedroom and spent about an hour in bed.
I had hoped for more of a nap than I got, but it was going to have to suffice.
I decided to give sunning another shot, but this time I put on a heavy jacket.
Happily, when I sat in the deck- or lawn-chair at 2:36 p.m., even though there was still an uncomfortably chilly breeze, my sunshine was never blotted out by any cloud, so I put in just over 40 minutes out there.
My younger brother had been home all this while, and was most recently doing some work on his Kia Sedona van (replacing a front turn signal light).
When I returned into the house, he had finally completed the chore. In good humour, he told me that at one point he wanted to move my eldest stepson's new Harley-Davidson motorcycle, but he failed to realize that it had a wheel lock in place.
It only moved a very short distance, and then the wheel locked and the bike began to lean over. My brother said that he was unable to stop it from going over, but he was able to lay it down in a controlled fashion. However, it was impossible for him to set the bike back up.
He had to come and fetch my brawny stepson to assist him in lifting it all the way back up onto its two wheels.
Anyway, my brother's chore all finished, before it was quite yet 3:40 p.m. he was off on a drive to run an errand or two ─ and maybe have a park walk somewhere.
I am expecting him back for the evening.
I want to add a little more content into that website post I have been working on for over two weeks; and I also have some exercise scheduled that I will need to tackle in my bedroom for want of any privacy elsewhere here in the house.
So I am going to bring this post to a close here and now.
