An Afternoon Shopping Excursion Thwarted

It appeared that I might make it out today in the latter afternoon to do some shopping ─ it would have been a hike of over a mile to reach my ultimate destination, and the afternoon had turned remarkably sunny following an overcast morning.

However, my wife showed up mid-afternoon entirely unexpectedly, and I found myself of course grounded.

I wouldn't normally have been able to get out as I had thought I might, but I did not find myself sitting in thralldom from 10:00 a.m. until at least 1:00 p.m. operating our Android TV Box to locate sources for some shows for my younger brother and I.

I did initially find myself in that role, but I had tuned in the most recent movie in the Underworld franchise, and my brother would not give it a chance. Griping that the movies are little better than computer games in quality, he petulantly betook himself from the living room and engaged some activity at the dining table; and then he announced that he would be back in a while as he left to drive off to somewhere to run errands.

As soon as he had done that, I cancelled out of the movie. I also had something else to do ─ put in some extra work on the post I am developing at one of my six hosted websites. I only watch daytime T.V. for my brother's sake, since he doesn't know how to operate the Android TV Box.

I had sat up last night until nigh midnight with him watching episodes of some of the T.V. series we follow. He had arrived home before 7:00 p.m. that evening, and proved to be in unusually decent condition ─ i.e., he wasn't plastered.

And so I used our Android TV Box to locate the shows we were to watch ─ and I had myself two cans of regular strength (5.5% alcohol) beer.

But I had broken sleep overnight and finally rose perhaps around 3:00 a.m. to work on that website post, returning to bed in the neighbourhood of 6:00 a.m.

When I next checked the time after some sleep, it was around 9:00 a.m., so I soon thereafter rose for the morning.

And I've already explained what was soon to follow.

My brother was back well into the noon hour, and soon sought his bedroom to rest up ere heading away perhaps around 2:00 a.m. to ultimately resume his drinking somewhere.

I also had an early afternoon nap, still believing that I was likely going to be able to make that shopping excursion.

Oh well. It's rather nice having my wife here ─ she spends most of her free time somewhere in Vancouver, and primarily comes home when she has to work during the week at her friend's Thai restaurant.

Such is our sorry marriage. However, I still have a lot of love for the girl.

I really haven't much else that I care to talk about, so I am going to post some photos ─ starting with the collage that Google Photos created today from some photos that were apparently taken on this day back in 2012:

The occasion was not one I was involved in ─ the setting was no doubt a nightclub in Vancouver.

Here are the original images. The lass wearing glasses who is at the right in the first and fourth photos is my wife's niece ─ she was in Vancouver for studies, having come all the way from her home in Italy where she was born and lives:

The short and attractive lass in the third and fourth photos who is rather centrally situated is my wife's friend and present employer.

Since my wife is not actually in any of those photos, I will post these rather two poor candid photos of her that I took this afternoon at 5:35 p.m. through a markedly dirty window while she was in the backyard taking some sun:

She was out there for the duration of this post, and has now just come back into the house at 6:29 p.m., so my blogging time is at an end for today.
