πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠ A Gloriously Sunny Day ─ Befouled Nonetheless

Oh, how eagerly I run to and embrace depravity!

But let's start with last evening ─ my younger brother arrived home at about 8:45 p.m. from wherever he had been drinking. I decided that in the past week or more, I have been far too lenient concerning his homecomings, and have been sitting up late unnecessarily.

I supposedly have an unspoken (to him) 8:30 p.m. curfew for him ─ if he has not arrived home by then, I am not supposed to be sitting up late with him, operating our Android TV Box to locate episodes of some of the T.V. series we follow.

So last evening I decided to restore my adherence to that rule, and I was into my bed at 8:52 p.m.

I never really slept for the next three hours ─ all I am convinced that I managed to do was sink into periods of semi-consciousness. My mind would depart from rational meanderings, and I would realize that I was having mental ramblings that could only be the stuff of irrational dream.

I checked the time at both 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., but my brother does not typically retire until around midnight, so I remained in isolation from him.

Then at midnight I rose and dressed, and awaited the sound of him retiring to his bedroom for the night. He was to do so at 12:10 a.m.

I was free to rise and soon be at work in the laying of a foundation for a new post at one of my six hosted websites.

I have actually managed over the day to finish everything related to that preliminary work, including the research. And so in the coming a.m., I will be able to actually begin adding content into the post.

But as for the past early a.m., I did not return to bed until a little after 4:30 a.m.

Yesterday, my brother had asked me if I rise early in the morning when it's still dark ─ he was curious if I have tried to catch sight of the Comet NEOWISE. Well, I have never thought to try and see it.

So last night I did make the effort.

During the midnight hour, I did go outside to look around. However, the light pollution hereabouts is so damned pervasive and complete that I couldn't see enough stars to identify the big dipper. I doubt I could have counted 50 stars ─ most of those were so ridiculously faint that they were barely detectable.

I went out again a little ahead of 4:30 a.m. and things were even worse, for the sky was beginning to lighten with the imminence of dawn. I probably couldn't have counted 20 stars ─ and the night sky was free of cloud.

When I was a teen in these parts in the 1960s, it was possible to lie outdoors at night and marvel at the brilliance of the starry night, watching flashing meteorites and travelling satellites, some of which were probably tumbling because they would be blinking as they faintly transitted the night sky.

No more. And I feel robbed of being able to feel the magnificence and majesty of the universe that used to attend those awesome nocturnal vigils. I am severed from all sense of being connected to the majesty of Creation.

I am spiritually impaired for it.

Anyway, after getting back to bed this early morning, I continued to sleep poorly; and by 8:00 a.m. I could sleep no more. Soon, I rose for the morning.

My brother had not yet risen. And when he did, he of course quickly had the T.V. on downstairs. However, as I usually do during the weekdays, I waited until 10:00 a.m. before joining him to put our Android TV Box into operation.

To my considerable surprise, he counselled me to not put on anything of any great length. Apparently, he was having to soon go out.

I never queried him about it, but by 11;00 a.m. he was indeed on his way for whatever purpose. And as far as I know, he never did return.

This freed up my day to get that website post preliminary work nearly completed.

The day was remarkably sunny, so in the latter noon hour I went out into the backyard to sun myself while wearing just a pair of gym-style shorts. I spent just over 35 minutes sunning my back; and then just over another 35 minutes sunning my front.

Sordid behaviour thereafter ensued ere I had a light first meal of my day, and then I sought some bed rest.

Thereafter, I finalized that website post foundational work, and created two posts at my private blog (I missed out on posting in it yesterday).

And that brings me to the present. It is just after 7:30 p.m., so I want to get this post published and have some supper. Maybe I can get to bed early if my brother is tardy arriving home. Since he never had any midday rest in his bedroom, his status this evening will probably be poor. In other words, his company might well best be avoided.
