πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠ Delta Variant and Related Nonsense

My wife was home yesterday until the early evening before leaving to finally head on in to Vancouver where she normally spends her weekends; and so she is not expected back until sometime tomorrow.

I got in over an hour of backyard sunning in the afternoon while she was home, but I never had the opportunity to blog. The primary reason for that was because I had committed myself to watching a replay of last December's UFC 256, beginning late in the afternoon; and these events are bloody long ─ even despite fast-forwarding through the extraneous portions of the 3½-hour programme (I was watching it via one of the 'apps' in the Slamious Kodi Build that I have downloaded into our Android TV Box).

I see at that Wikipedia link that there were other matches that night, other than the five on the "main card" that I watched. Five other matches, in fact ─ just how long would the programme have been in totality, then, had they all be included?

Of the matches that I did watch, only one of the fighters was familiar to me ─ Junior dos Santos. His opponent was Ciryl Gane, someone who does a lot of kicking ─ I don't like that style, so I was rooting for Junior.

Unfortunately, "we" lost due to an elbow knockout.

I also rooted for (then) 40-year-old Ronaldo Souza in his match with far younger Kevin Holland because I deeply respect veteran fighters, but also because the younger dude is a braggart and "trash-talker" ─ I hate that in people.

But again, "we " lost, and in rather humiliating fashion.

The sole women's match had me choosing Mackenzie Dem over Virna Jandiroba, but only because Mackenzie looked smilingly friendly and very attractive to Virna's dead-serious expression and rather strange eyes. However, even though Virna did lose, the fight was rather brutal, and Virna got my respect for her relatively fearless resilience despite her face taking a fair beating.

I did not have any particular partiality in the Tony Ferguson / Charles Oliveira match, but when I saw how handily Charles Oliveira was able to deal with Tony Ferguson ─ who was supposed to be exceptional ─ I felt that Tony mustn't have trained adequately and deserved to lose. Charles Oliveira handled him like Tony Ferguson was new to the fight game, and that just should not be.

The final bout was between champ (and Brazilian) Deiveson Figueiredo and Mexican challenger Brandon Moreno. I only chose the Mexican because he was the underdog, and I rather like Mexican fighters. He also had a most peculiar fighting stance, leaning forward with his head stuck far out like he had a case of severe pigeon / turtle / text neck. The champ seemed far more skilled and proficient, and I expected that he was going to win, but the Mexican kept fighting and would not give up despite getting poked in the eye and kicked in the testicles ─ neither incident seemed to deflate him. I was actually surprised he was able to resume the fight as soon as he did following that latter blow.

The champ kept the title, but only barely ─ it was a majority draw, something I had not before heard of. What it meant was that even although there were three judges, two called it a tie match, but the third gave it to the champion. And that broke the tie.

In a post-fight interview, the champion said that he had been in the hospital the night or two nights previously until 2 a.m. due to some serious intestinal distress such as a case of food poisoning, and he was fighting in less than his normal peak.

I honestly did not expect that the Mexican would make it through all five rounds, so I was delighted that he did, and that he came so close to making it a complete tie. Even so, I agree that if he had not suffered the eye gouge and the 'nuts' kick, then the champion would have likely been given the unanimous decision. The champion hurt his own cause by those two careless actions.

However, I see at Wikipedia that there was an eventual rematch, and the scrappy Mexican is now the champion! That does rather surprise me, for Deiveson Figueiredo is very muscular as well as a technical fighter and a very heavy (as in knockout) puncher, while Brandon Moreno had no sign of a chiselled physique whatsoever. He looked 'soft'.

It must have been quite a rematch ─ I will seek to watch it one day.

It was a little after 10 p.m. by the time I sought my bed last evening. My younger brother never came home ─ he apparently spent the night at the home of his girlfriend Bev.

Since I had some morning grocery shopping in mind for today, I never rose overnight as I would otherwise have done ─ or at least, I never rose until something after 4 a.m. And because I failed to have a scheduled bath yesterday, I took care of that first thing.

My shopping destination was Save-On-Foods, perhaps 1½ miles from here. I also had my brother's monthly expenses reconciliation cheque to deposit which included his share of the annual property taxes, so the cheque was written out for over $1,000.

The store opens at 7 a.m., but I did not set off on my hike until nearly 7:30 a.m., to my annoyance. Nevertheless, at least I accomplished both chores.

My brother was home by the time I had returned.

By 10 a.m. I had declined so drastically that I had to seek my bed, unable to watch any T.V. with my brother. I perhaps napped slightly, but I wasn't down for much over 50 minutes ─ I wanted us to watch Odessa Orlewicz's latest video, so I joined my brother for that. It was a 47-minute episode titled July 3- Briberies, Churches Burning, Facebook "Extremists" And Agenda 2030 Is Right On Track In Oh Canada.

All else we watched was an episode of The Last Kingdom ─ the fourth episode of season four. And I see now that there is yet to be a season five ─ wonderful!

My brother had some bed rest, and then took off for the afternoon to resume his daily drinking somewhere. I never did feel my best ─ that morning decline was more than mere need of further sleep. Something does feel amiss with me.

Even so, I had the day's scheduled bit of exercise, and then beginning at 3 p.m. I sunned for over an hour in the backyard while attired in my swimming trunks.

After that, I had my day's first meal ─ a cold affair, but one which was difficult to get through as further decline set in. Once the meal was done, I again sought a nap.

And now it is 6:45 p.m. as I type these words, and I truly do not feel aright. Perhaps it is related to either excessive Sun exposure, or the heat. I have a can of strong (8% alcohol) Cariboo Malt in the fridge icebox or freezer. The hope is that once I start watching some T.V. very soon, that cold brew will help to set me proper.

It is actually disturbing to feel as I do ─ even my vision is affected. I will not be sitting up after 9 p.m., and that is sure. I at least do feel confident that the onset of darkness and the cool of the latter evening ought to be beneficial.

By the way, I did not wear a face mask today in Save-On-Foods. Provincially here in B.C., that 'mandate' to be wearing one in places such as stores and other public buildings was lifted. And there was a sign at Save-On-Foods' entrance indicating that they were lifting their requirement for the public to be masked, even though their unfortunate employees all still seemed to have to wear one of the injurious things.

Yet many of the ignorant public were still wearing them too.

On a fully related matter, Odessa Orlewicz included some discussion of the 'Delta variant' that is now quite the rage. If you have anything at all like an open mind, I refer you to this: Fauci and the Biden Admin are purposely deceiving us about the 'Delta variant' threat.

How is Fauci not yet executed for his crimes? He doesn't even need a trial.

I read today that the States are going to mandate that their entire armed forces ─ or the army, at any rate ─ must submit to this phony, toxic 'vaccination': Prepare for mandatory COVID vaccines in September, Army tells commands

If whistleblowing medical professionals are correct, the 'vaccinated' will begin dying off with the advent of this year's flu season. And just as is being done concerning the variants, the un-vaccinated will be blamed when it is clear that the 'vaccine' itself is behind the so-called virulence.

If it is true that the United States is to be brought to ruin as part of the hidden agenda behind what is taking place in the world, what better way than to not only decimate its population, but also its military?

Enough said ─ I want that beer, and a rest for my sorry eyes.
