I was not going to blog here today due to the time lost in dissolution this afternoon when my wife left for work.
I must get to bed quickly, for I have a wee a.m. five-mile+ walk in store, and it is approaching 9:30 p.m with my younger brother quite newly arrived home.
By the way, the clothes dryer failed him this latter morning, so he had to take his wet laundry to a laundromat to dry it. My eldest stepson ─ our repairman who replaced a shredded belt inside the old Maytag ─ never rose for the day until maybe 3 p.m., by which time my brother was gone for the day.
Possibly my stepson had to work a 12-hour shift as of 6 p.m., for he had not been home since the latter afternoon, just as my wife, so my brother and he never spoke. I relayed the dryer news to the lad.
I somewhat failed my Sabbath fast by getting a shoddy start on it due to my shame. I ate a later supper than meant; and due to my despair, I wanted to drink. So I tuned in an episode of Cybill ─ episode 22 ("The Wedding") of season three.
Lord, Alicia Witt was fabulous in this episode!
I managed to swill a can of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol), a cider (6% alcohol), and a shot of Kraken Black Spiced Rum (47% alcohol).
All of this was during the early evening. I made a tiny effort to detour from iniquity in the latter afternoon to watch and get drunk with a Christmas movie, but my addiction prevailed and I held course on the path to shame.
Maybe I will mention that before my wife left for work, she asked me in the sweetest imploring fashion if she could have $40. It turned out that I had no small banknotes equating that figure ─ my wife saw a fifty, however, and pleaded that she would repay me $10 in change.
Yeah, right.
She had asked for and got $20 from me Wednesday when she left in the afternoon to do some grocery shopping ─ of course I did not mind contributing for that.
I also want to mention that I had last evening's hike and grocery shopping, and returned home to find my brother here and passed out in front of the T.V.
When I later joined him ─ he was conscious by then ─ and he got around to requesting that I put our Android TV Box in play, we had time for an episode each of two Australian T.V. series.
First was The Outpost ─ episode six ("Because She's Worth It") of season two. I did not like how that episode ended!
Then it was Glitch ─ episode four ("There Is No Justice") of season one.
This series is getting most interesting.
Had we begun watching our shows earlier, there would have been a third Australian series played, believe it or not!
Enough. I must get to bed ─ 10 p.m. is now not far ahead.
