Some Like It Hot

To bolster my resolve to get away last evening on some sort of long walk, I tuned in Cybill ─ episode four ("Some Like It Hot") of season four. As a consequence of having too much difficulty locating a functioning link source with the streaming apps that I have downloaded into our Android TV Box, I resorted to this OK.ru link and it played perfectly.

It was a very good episode, and both Cybill Shepherd and Christine Baranski displayed some great natural acting.

But it was not the episode that bolstered my resolve for the walk; rather, it was the can each of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol) and Bumper Crop Crisp Apple Cider (7% alcohol) that achieved that goal.

I decided there was no shopping I needed to bother with ─ I would just have the walk. I think that it was maybe 9:20 p.m. when I set off, and I varied my usual five-mile+ route by utilizing trails in the Green Timbers Urban Forest Park, first taking to Salal Trail at 100th Avenue & 148th Street (Google Map).

At that point it was after 10 p.m., so it was dark. But even though I had brought my Titan baton flashlight stun gun, I never felt the need to turn it on ─ I only held it in my hand 'just in case'.

My route of trails included leaving Salal Trail at Cedar Trail (Google Map), then following Cedar Trail past the south end of Green Timbers Lake where the trail briefly becomes Willow Trail (Google Map); then I took to Birch Trail to the first spur that allows the walker to access Huckleberry Trail (Google Map); and from there I went south until I came out onto Green Timbers Way from where I mostly walked sidewalks all the way back home.

I had kept a leisurely pace and was not beset with the lameness that cursed me that morning.

I even stopped at the elementary school playground approximately three blocks from home and ─ taking off my jacket ─ I performed six pull-ups, then three chin-ups, and finally two pull-ups on a set of gymnastics-style rings where I held the very last of those for a 30-count.

I arrived home to find my younger brother watching T.V., so soon enough I joined him, and anon got his invitation to put our Android TV Box to work.

I had researched the T.V. series Bosch, for I knew that once my brother and I had watched maybe two episodes some years back. I had no memory of what the episodes were about, but I didn't care to re-watch them. Fortunately, I had written in my blog back in August 2018 that we watched the first three episodes one after the other because my brother wanted to see the full story arc involved in those episodes.

Well, last night he immediately complained that he was not finding this new series of much interest, so I threw at him the fact of him wanting us to watch its first three episodes all together nearly six years ago ─ he had then found it to be so very interesting.

That shut him up.

And that fourth episode ("Chapter Four: Fugazi") did indeed get undeniably interesting, so I am not expecting complaint from the next time I tune in an episode.

I then tuned in Riverdale. It was supposed to be season four's episode 17 ("Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town"), but that one was a musical, and my brother despises those. Thus, I tuned in episode 18 ("Chapter Seventy-Five: Lynchian") instead, and will watch the musical episode this evening before I go to bed. I will also have a Cariboo Malt.

We didn't watch any further of our shows last night, just some random YouTube videos.

I cannot recall when I got to bed, but I expect that it was past 2 a.m.

Note that when I had left on my evening walk, only my wife was here. She was in her bedroom with her door mostly closed, probably watching videos on her tablet or smartphone.

So I alerted her as to what I was about to do, and asked if she wanted me to lock the door after me. She considered this, and then agreed that I should.

Okay, on to this morning!

Once again my brother and I were to watch some T.V. together beginning around 9:15 a.m. after I had joined him. When I put our Android TV Box back to work, I led us off with Odessa Orlewicz's 16-minute (16:43) latest from yesterday at her Rumble channel Libertytalkcanada: Reclaiming Canada Event In BC, Canada June 21-23. Among the other shows watched were a 15-minute (15:15) upload of yesterday to YouTube's Redacted channel: "Something HUGE is about to happen" and U.S. dominance is on the line | Redacted w Clayton Morris.

The West is getting desperate to hold onto power, and they're using their proxy war in Ukraine to bring war to Russia and the whole of Europe. On Friday, Russian President Putin started sending an armada of battleships heading right for Cuba... right off of Florida's coast. Russian warships are performing military training exercises... right in our backyard. How did this happen?

A 1⅓-hour (1:24:26) video uploaded August 4, 2016, to YouTube's Real Stories channel: China's Stolen Children (EMMY-NOMINATED DOCUMENTARY) | Real Stories.

With extraordinary access to devastated parents desperately searching for their stolen son; a man who brokers the deals and has sold his own offspring; and prospective parents grappling with giving up their soon-to-be-born daughter through lack of options, we are brought face to face with the crisis that such a stringent government policy has created among China's poorest people.

A 16-minute (16:08) video uploaded on December 21, 2015, to YouTube's Proper Gander channel: Theosophy - Helena Blavatsky - Secret Teachings.

Theosophy refers to systems of esoteric philosophy concerning, or seeking direct knowledge of, presumed mysteries of being and nature, particularly concerning the nature of divinity. Theosophy is considered a part of the broader field of esotericism, referring to hidden knowledge or wisdom that offers the individual enlightenment and salvation. The theosopher seeks to understand the mysteries of the universe and the bonds that unite the universe, humanity, and the divine. The goal of theosophy is to explore the origin of divinity, humanity and the world. From investigation of those topics, theosophers try to discover a coherent description of the purpose and origin of the universe.

The name Theosophy is often used in modern times to refer to the religio-philosophic doctrines of the Theosophical Society founded in New York City in 1875 by Henry Steel Olcott with William Quan Judge and Helena Petrovna Blavatsky. Blavatsky's magnum opus, one of the major foundational works of this Theosophy, was published in 1888 as The Secret Doctrine. Theosophical Societies and Organizations remain active in more than 52 countries around the world. Theosophy has also given rise to or influenced the development of other mystical, philosophical, and religious movements.

And there was one further long video that we only got about halfway through before my brother broke for his bed rest, so I will wait until we have completed watching it before identifying it.

My wife had to work a full day today, so she headed away on her fairly long drive well past 10 a.m.

I was late in seeking my early afternoon nap. My brother had already left for the day, and it was by then after 2 p.m. The afternoon had become unexpectedly sunny, but I was too weary to indulge in it without a nap, so I 'hit the hay' for an hour or so, napping very deeply.

I did sun, but it was already well after 3:30 p.m. ─ I am sure that I must have gotten in at least 1¼ hours, regardless.

I must wind up this post, for I wish to rise at 1:30 a.m. for a five-mile+ walk. There is supposed to be some rain overnight at some point, though.

I did watch the Riverdale musical episode here at my computer while first supping, and then having that strong beer. I watched the episode at this M4uHD.net link.

I'm 74 years old, so the musical numbers pretty much stank as far as I am concerned ─ and so the episode. But it's always nice looking at the leggy and very pretty gals, even if the episode's heavy homosexuality holds no appeal in the least.

It is 9:15 p.m., so I must very soon get to bed.
