Entertaining Christmas

Only today have I realized the impact of my wife's guilt-tripping that has seen me shelling out $1,000 or more a month to her from my pension income. I still have to pay out the monthly amount of $700 to a pair of credit cards in my ongoing feeble attempt to bring down the balances on them ─ my wife is fully responsible for $450 of that payment figure, but has shirked her responsibility and left it up to me because my name is on those cards even though she incurred the egregious balances those cards bear; but by making the $700 payment towards the two credit cards, I will not have enough money remaining in my account to pay the next fortnightly mortgage payment that will be due January 9.

If I am lucky, my two stepsons may contribute $650 towards the mortgage before then, and my younger brother will also be making his monthly expenses reconciliation payment to me that may be $200 or so.

But I am unlikely to be buying the new pair of boots I rather badly need. However, my left foot's flare-up of plantar fasciitis of course has me marginalized where regular walking is concerned. I am only hoping to be able to manage a planned 1½-mile or so round trip hike early tomorrow evening to do some grocery shopping at Save-On-Foods ─ I have nothing more ambitious than that planned.

I had thought that maybe next Thursday evening I would make the two-mile round trip hike to buy the boots, but that now seems improbable.

And now I find myself sinking into all-too-familiar financial despair. There will be a Christmas movie coming up once it becomes dark ─ I need a vehicle affording me the excuse to do some drinking.

My wife had yesterday off work, although she did head off somewhere around 2:30 p.m. and was back by maybe 6:45 p.m. Today she has had a full workday at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time.

My brother never showed up yesterday from his social drinking until well past 10 p.m. By then I had the first of three of our shows set to play ─ I had withheld doing any drinking at all until then.

The first show was the old British series Red Cap ─ episode two ("Crush") of season or series two. We were able to watch it via the SmartTube app downloaded into our Android TV Box, for thus far I found episodes one and two available on YouTube (the link for this specific episode is here).

My brother appeared ready to pass out, but I think he remained conscious, although I doubt he gleaned much at all from the show.

His ability to retain consciousness fled him right after I began our next show. It was again an old British series: The Avengers ─ season or series two's episode 22 ("Man in the Mirror"). On this occasion, my source was this OK.ru link.

I had intended yet a third old British series, but I decided that my brother clearly lacked the brain strength to focus the required proper attention, so when he revived just as The Avengers was ending and then went upstairs to use the toilet, I instead tuned in The Graham Norton Show ─ the current season or series 32's episode eight.

The sole guest I was familiar with was Nicole Kidman, whom I only now see had her 57th birthday back in June ─ wow! Now I have a whole new appreciation for her role this year in the movie Babygirl as an older attractive woman who falls under the spell of a far younger intern working for her company.

After The Graham Norton Show's conclusion, I fully expected that my brother would at most request "something short" ─ i.e., a sitcom. However, he surprised me by suggesting a few old 'rock and roll' performance videos.

This was supposed to suggest that even a sitcom was longer than he intended to remain sitting up. But once the old music from our teens and early 20s began, it was just past 2:30 a.m. before he finally managed to pull away and head on upstairs to his bedroom.

In all that while watching our T.V. shows I had only drunk three cans of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol), but I was to add a shot of Captain Morgan Dark Rum (40% alcohol) during the music videos.

I think that I made it to bed before 3 a.m.

Around 7 a.m. I found myself awake. I used the toilet, but returned to bed in the hope of managing to at least 'hibernate' until 8 a.m.

When I next checked the time, it was already after 8:30 a.m. And to my annoyance, my brother was already downstairs. I had left all of the Christmas lights on down there, intending to unplug them once I had gotten up for the morning. I think that my youngest stepson remained up all night long, so to some degree there was at least that safeguard.

Upon getting my brother's okay to begin putting out Android TV Box to work, I led us off with two recent videos from YouTube's AnitaK channel.

I dive into the plans for empty Merritt rest stop. I take a look at Native land redistribution and future plans, namely the project, "Gateway 236"

Next came a 1-hour (1:03:33) video published yesterday to Rumble's Libertytalkcanada channel: PART 2 BC Canada Gov MADE This Addictions Expert Destroy Study & Evidence To Keep Their Agenda Going.

Part 2- I get to ask much more about the destruction of the studies and who made him and how it came about. Interview with addictions expert Dr. Julian Somers. It's worse than you think. They don't want to heal addicts or save our communities. An important conversation.

After that, I tuned in a movie I had previously downloaded, but we truncated it with maybe 20 minutes to go so that my brother could have further bed rest before busing off for the rest of the day to social drink. I will report on the movie once we have finished watching it.

A Christmas movie I have not yet mentioned which I watched on my own either just before or just after Christmas was 2018's Forever Christmas. It proved to be better than I expected. And it was cute how the very handsome leading man (played by actor Christopher Russell) had his heart captured by a character (played by actress Chelsea Hobbs) who was not his par in the looks department.

With that said, I could almost gush over how deliciously Chelsea was built! What straight man would not succumb to those most evident charms?

If at all interested, I believe that I watched the movie at this OK.ru link.

Chelsea's name came up in my Blogger's labels, so I have apparently seen her in a previous role ─ my suspicion is that it involved Christmas, but I have no idea what it could have been.

♥♥♥♥♥

Anyway, I took a break from this post to watch another Christmas movie, during which I drank two cans of Cariboo Malt and two shots of rum.

The movie was excellent for my needs ─ my eyes were soon enough burning, and things only escalated. I love it, even though it hurt me so deep that I wished I ceased to exist a few decades ago in order not to become who I am today, nor experience my present life situation.

The movie was 2018's Entertaining Christmas.

I was vaguely familiar with the name of lead actress Jodie Sweetin, even if I was unable to place a face to the name. But once into the movie, she did sort of become familiar as well ─ especially her voice. And although I doubt that I would have cast her in a romantic lead alongside actor Brendan Fuhr, the girl grew on me in her role in this movie and I know that I, too, would have found myself caught up in her elemental sway.

I watched the movie on T.V. via one of the apps that I have downloaded into our Android TV Box, but it can also be presently viewed at this OK.ru link ─ so many movies are available there!

I had a fairly light supper following the movie, and am now rather looped as a result of the alcohol. But that was the point. I would surrender further to some drinking, but even though I have no long walk planned for overnight due to my pedal incapacitation, I do want to have some upper body exercise. If it is not raining, then I will probably chance the possible three-block walk to the nearby elementary school playground for some sets of pull-ups and chin-ups there; or else I will just rely upon the same in our backyard too shed once it is light enough to see out there.

Thus, I will be avoiding everyone ─ that is, my brother specifically, but also my wife ─ later this evening and getting myself to bed reasonably early.

I shall write no further, for it is presently 8:28 p.m., and it would be good to be abed by 10 p.m. at latest, and perhaps rising at 4 a.m.

We shall see. I'm glad I am somewhat drunk ─ my blues are subdued, but I would like to indulge more if only I could sentimentalize the drinking.
