πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠ The White Dwarf

Last evening my left foot's plantar fasciitis (or else its badly bruised heel) started to become noticeable before I got to the liquor store about two miles away, but it was still manageable. However, all that changed on the hike home, with a 1.175-litre bottle of Scotch and 750-ml bottle of red wine being carried in my tote bag.

I ended up with as nearly an incapacitating situation as was my lot after my early Saturday walk last weekend that brought on the full-blown condition. My walk last evening was my first since Saturday.

And now I'm buggered again, with Christmas getting nearer and shopping still to be done.

Incidentally, I took a plunge to the pavement when I was almost home ─ it was while coming through the alley that passes by our house and opens up into the cul-de-sac we live in.

At the first corner of the alley (it makes three right-angle turns, and thus has four very short straight stretches), a pickup was angled and thus athwart the nearest corner as I walked in that direction. The truck had its bright lights on and was running, rather blinding me.

I chose to keep walking along the left side of the alley and was to have to practically squeeze by the truck.

A woman and then a man spoke out, the male voice cautioning me to be mindful of my path and not trip.

I assumed he was referring to one of the two Jersey barriers that block that end of the alley to prevent motor vehicles using it. I could just make out the concrete shape as I eased along after having had my vision blinded by the truck's lights.

I think I may even have spoken out that all was well ─ that I could see the cement object. But suddenly the man and woman both spoke out with sheer urgency, and the next thing I knew, I had tripped over a taught unseen cable attached to the truck and to the concrete barrier.

Down I fell, the bottles in my tote bag sounding alarmingly loud as they, too, hit the pavement, only protected by the material of the tote bag.

It was all quite embarrassing. I had to assure the man and woman that I incurred no injuries, but I was unsure of the two bottles ─ my liquor store bill had come to something like $93.

I talked briefly with the couple, and then proceeded on my way.

Most fortunately, both bottles were intact and had not even cracked.

By the way, both my brother and my wife were home before I left on my shopping expedition. I think that my brother may have shown up as early as 7:15 p.m.

After I got back home, it was a while before I finally joined my brother for some T.V., by which time I think that it was 10 p.m. Straightaway I took over the T.V. and put our Android TV Box into action, my brother cautioning that he was not going to be up too much longer because he needed to get up very early and drive two miles to his girlfriend Bev's home and then take her to drop off banking information to whatever the social services offices are called these days.

I tuned in The Avengers ─ season or series two's episode 21 ("The White Dwarf"). Due to some trouble locating a working link, I believe that I finally resorted to a Firefox browser app and tuned in the episode at this OK.ru link.

I have no idea how that episode was resolved. It all ended very quickly in (I believe) an observatory, but I have no understanding of why any of the murders took place, nor how the twisted plot was finally worked out. My brother had taken a bathroom break just before the climax, and missed everything ─ it was that suddenly concluded. He could barely believe it.

He did go on on up to his bedroom for the night once the episode was done.

But not me. I decided to watch a Christmas movie, and my choice was 2017's The Christmas Train. I did enjoy it, but it was not the sort of Christmas movie I most like.

I suspect that my source might have this one at OK.ru again.

Lead actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley didn't much interest me initially, but I came to realize in closeups that she is a beautiful woman!

I think that I drank three cans of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) and a shot of Captain Morgan Black Rum (40% alcohol).

Would I have sensibly gone to bed if I had watched my favourite kind of Christmas movie? I just don't know. But I was to sit up here at my bedside computer until the deed was done and I was finally released of my bondage ─ but I have no idea on the time I at last got to bed.

My morning may have started as early as 8:15 a.m., but that does seem ... well, early. I thought that I might have still been up by 5 a.m. because I have memory of thinking that my brother had risen and gone downstairs ─ that was my perception from here in my contained bedroom where I was watching videos.

Whatever the case, he was not here when I rose.

I decided that just because he is sacrificing his time to run Bev around, I was no longer going to withhold myself from watching our usual morning videos.

So I tuned in an hour-long (1:02:16) video published two days ago at Rumble's Nova Scotia Free Speech Bulletin Podcast channel: Breaking News Canadian and Australian doctors severe warning about Billc293 and vaccine dangers.

This was an excellent interview!

I was to get no nap today. My brother wanted us to put a tarpaulin over the leaky roof of our backyard tool shed, but the project turned out to be far more complicated than anticipated, particularly since the condition of the roof is such that we dared not trust it to bear our weight.

Eventually I realized that my eldest stepson was in the kitchen, so he got enlisted, and proved to be an absolute boon.

Our tarp does not cover the entire roof, alas, but will have to do for now.

By the time we came back into the house around 3:30 p.m., my wife ─ who only had to work the latter part of today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed ─ had gone.

My brother soon enough left on foot to catch a bus and begin his social drinking. I ate for the first time today, and am now on my Sabbath fast. I will not eat again until after 6 p.m. tomorrow.

Had my brother not wanted to enlist me for that backyard work, I would have gotten around to watching another Christmas movie and done some drinking. Now I cannot drink due to my fast.

Shortly after dark, it began raining. By mid-evening it was doing so quite hard.

My brother returned home around 9:30 p.m., but I have avoided him. I have become so drowsy while working on this post that I almost fell asleep.

I want to go to bed ─ I badly want to! I might walk over to the elementary school playground three or so blocks away if I rouse early enough tomorrow, but before there is any risk of daylight. If I don't go there and exercise, then I will have to try and do it in the tool shed sometime tomorrow.

I've got to sleep. I am saying nothing more now at 10:04 p.m.
