Immediately following publication of my post last evening, I pretty much began iniquitous engagement and never got to bed until after 12:30 a.m.
My 6 a.m. cellphone alarm roused me, and I dressed to go outside to water the front yard garden plants.
The plan was some early local grocery shopping, but I was so very disheartened. When it came time to begin dressing to go, what remnant of resolve and courage for public exposure was present just fell entirely away. My eyes dwelt upon my seductive bed, and I was unable to resist ─ I needed to escape from wakefulness and my consciousness, and hide away knowing nothing.
It had been early enough that I could have made it to the store by its 8 a.m. opening, but weakness consumed me.
I managed a little needed sleep, and rose when I saw it to be fairly near to 9 a.m. I began to do some activity here at my bedside computer, but then I heard my younger brother moving about in his bedroom ─ he had still not emerged from it to watch T.V., so I managed to make my crippled way downstairs to lay claim to the T.V., and when he joined me I was all set to play four of the most recent fairly short videos at BitChute's Progressive Truth Seekers channel.
Unfortunately I was not impressed with any of them, and actually cancelled out of one of them.
So I went for something assuredly of interest ─ 1923. In this instance, it was episode five ("Only Gunshots to Guide Us") of season two.
What a fabulous series this has become! My favourite storyline is that of English Alexandra striving to make her way to Montana. What gets me is that actress Julia Schlaepfer isn't even English!
Our last video was less involving. It was a half hour long, and had been uploaded September 7, 2023, to YouTube's Native Journals channel: Apache History: Tales of a Proud People.
In the heart of the untamed American Southwest, a tribe emerged with a reputation that struck fear into the hearts of many. They were known as the Apache, a people whose history is wrapped in mystery, marked by relentless battles, and defined by their unwavering spirit. The Apaches were feared for their cruelty, destruction, and assaults on men, women, and children, sometimes even taking their scalps as trophies until their enemies' technological advancements outmatched them. However, there's more to their story than just battles and warfare.
It became apparent to me that the narration was being done artificially, for words were being pronounced awkwardly; and in some cases, the same word would meet with different pronunciations over the course of the video.
I hate that lazy trick.
Consequently, since the visuals were primarily just slides that probably often did not even feature Apache subjects, I am not going to follow the channel. However, I had downloaded this particular video, and have another on the thumb drive to watch at some future point, but I intend that next one to be the last if it is going to be the same type of product.
My brother sought bed rest when the Apache video was done. Due to my shame of last night and my failure to go shopping this morning, I undertook the tool shed exercises I had skipped. Everything was as normal, except that in the first set of pull-ups I managed six instead of the regular five.
So six and two pull-ups in the first two sets; three and two chin-ups in the second pair of sets; and two pull-ups between a pair of bars in the final two sets. I held the dead hang of the final pull-up for a 50-count.
Prior to those, I had worked my bad leg with 31 squats (20 assisted; 10 unassisted; and one unassisted held in the squat position for a 100-count).
I then had a meal, but never sought a nap until as late as 1:30 p.m., even though I intended sunning.
My brother was still here when I rose at 2:30 p.m. or soon thereafter. Anon my brother did leave, though ─ on foot to catch a bus and go social drinking.
So I got in my sunning ─ nothing less than from 2:59 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Note that my wife had come home last evening right after I had published my blog post. She had another full workday today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, for she emerged from her bedroom just past 9:30 p.m. to shower and otherwise ready. And by 10 a.m. or soon after, left on her rather long drive.
Right now it is 7:41 p.m. and I am going to break from this post to watch a show here on my bedside computer and have a Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol). I have already supped following some exercising in my wife's vacant bedroom.
🟥🟥🟥
I watched The Avengers ─ episode 22 ("The Positive Negative Man") of season five. I must here declare that I have never before seen Emma Peel presented with so much natural charm and bare leg, even if the skirt was not a mini. It was as if the producers were intent of capitalizing on her natural womanliness while her tenure as character Emma Peel was near its end.
My source for the episode ─ rather reluctantly ─ was this Tvids.net link. This website always throw up a version of a hijack browser ─ but one that seems to hide behind the one the visitor is using. I was expecting it, though. Twice I had to touch my cursor to the play screen, and each time that unwanted browser was generated; and also each time, I shut it down before it loaded.
Just be warned.
I held to the one can of beer.
At episode's finish, I found my brother to have returned. By then it was around 9 p.m.
I'll not be seeking to watch nor drink aught further. Better to get to bed by 10 p.m. so I can rise at 3 a.m. for an outing.
And right now it is 9:50 p.m.
