Quiet Ones

My morning's start is uncertain, but I don't think that it was too very long past 6 a.m., even though I first checked the time a little after 5 a.m. but felt disinclined to begin things then.

My first order of business was of course to water the front yard garden plants; and then I went out to the backyard to visit the tool shed where I eventually got that miserable half dozen sets of pull-ups and chin-ups over with ─ I wish I had an actual chin-up bar to work with.

With the usual 30-count between sets, I led off with two sets of pull-ups (five and two repetitions), then two sets of chin-ups (three and two repetitions), and two sets of pull-ups between two bars (two repetitions in each set), holding the dead hang at the conclusion of the final pull-up for a 75-count.

I forgot to do the squats to exercise my damaged right leg, but later in the morning I took care of those in my wife's vacant bedroom ─ she didn't come home last night. So 20 assisted squats, then 10 unassisted, and a final unassisted held in the squat position for a 100-count.

My younger brother was to emerge from his bedroom reasonably soon after 8 a.m., I suppose, but I waited until after 9 a.m. before joining him for some T.V. Had he not gotten up as yet, I would have probably returned to bed, for I was declining.

I led things off with a 51-minute video that I warned might just be another of Odessa Orlewicz's precious metals hypes, and so it was. My brother finally asked me at the 29-minute mark if I'd had enough yet, so I cancelled out of it.

Maybe Odessa has a fan base with the money to spend on gold and silver, but my brother and I do not ─ videos like this are only a waste of our time. But if you're better off and interested, it had been published yesterday to Rumble's Libertytalkcanada channel: The WAR MACHINE & Shocking Rise In Silver Prices. What's Going On And Why We Should Care...

Next I played a short (2:55) musical parody video published earlier today to BitChute's NEM721 channel: NEW HIT SONG - Releasing the Files (Trump's Epstein Files Saga).

After that it was over to YouTube's Mark Slapinski channel for an 11-minute video uploaded yesterday: Prepare For More Immigrants & Radical Muslims.

My life's mission is to expose Liberal corruption, media lies, and the destruction of Western civilization.

Today's episode: The Mark Carney government is set to flood Canada with immigrants, with another 10,000 being accepted this summer.

A flight in Victoria was hijacked by a radical Muslim.

Then came something nostalgic ─ an episode of Route 66's first season. The episode had been uploaded December 30, 2023, to YouTube's Classic Films & Serials Now! channel: Route 66 S1E06 Ten Drops of Water (November 11, 1960).

None of the guest stars were known to me, but I liked the way the teen actress fit her jeans. I still am unfamiliar with actress Deborah Walley, but I now see that she was to act in several teen-oriented movies that included one as character "Gidget". I know that I've watched some of the movies she has been featured in, but evidently there was nothing memorable about her. But that was a long time ago.

The actress apparently died of esophageal cancer in 2001 at age 59, poor gal.

Yesterday we had gotten less than halfway through a video that I lined us up with next, and now it has been watched.

At 39 minutes (39:24), it had been uploaded November 10, 2024, to YouTube's Thrilling True Stories channel: Alexander the Great: The Man Who Would Be God.

"Alexander the Great: The Man Who Would Be God" charts the extraordinary life of history's most successful conqueror, from his mythic birth during a thunderstorm to his mysterious death in Babylon.

This sweeping biography weaves together the political intrigue of the Macedonian court, the brutal realities of ancient warfare, and the profound personal transformation of a young king who became a living legend.

Through richly detailed accounts of decisive battles like Gaugamela and intimate moments like the taming of Bucephalus, the book reveals how Alexander's uniquely potent combination of military genius, philosophical education, and burning ambition reshaped the ancient world.

The narrative explores his complex relationships with his tempestuous mother Olympias, his one-eyed father Philip II, and his closest companion Hephaestion, while examining how absolute power gradually transformed the idealistic prince into an increasingly isolated ruler who believed his own claims of divinity.

Equal parts military history, psychological study, and epic drama, this account brings to life the man whose vast empire crumbled upon his death but whose cultural impact would unite East and West for centuries to come.

I am not a fan of documentaries that seem to be nothing more than A.I.-generated slideshows while someone narrates. Often the images never even matched what was being discussed.

We'll see how the next one goes, whenever I get around to playing it. This sort of video style may prove too disinteresting, in which case I will drop the channel.

The last video I played was an old movie I had downloaded, but we never got 10 minutes into before my brother begged off for a return to his bedroom for further bed rest.

It looks pretty good, though, even if it is from 1938.

I had a meal before getting to bed for a needed nap. The morning had been solidly overcast, although my brother had said that it was expected to 'burn off' in the afternoon. I napped with the expectation that maybe today I would be getting a break from my afternoon sunning.

But no. I rose somewhere around 2:15 p.m. to find that it was indeed sunny, and my brother was just about to leave afoot for a bus to go social drinking.

And so from 2:33 to 4:10 p.m., I sunned yet again.

Towards the end, I was a little disheartened to discovered a dead bumblebee in the cut lawn that must have fallen victim to the heat after seeking to visit infrequent low and almost isolated clover blooms.

I have exercised again in my wife's bedroom. And now at 7:16 p.m. I am taking a break from this post so that I can gather up a light supper, and also watch a show here on my bedside computer to justify having a Cariboo Malt (79% alcohol).

I watched 9-1-1: Lone Star ─ episode eight ("The Quiet Ones") of season five. Boy, didn't that one turn out with an intriguing conclusion!

My source was this uFLIX.to link.

During the episode I had my supper as well as a beer. And at the show's finish fairly well ahead of 8:30 p.m., I found my brother to be (probably) newly home.

Deeming myself with time for another show and beer, I opted for Rescue: HI-Surf ─ episode two ("Mauka to Makai") of the first season.

I am very much enjoying this series and its roster of characters! Good stuff.

I've got to shut down and get to bed ─ I hope to have a wee a.m. outing to exercise my bad leg as well as my upper body.

I think that my wife may be home. It is 10:12 p.m.
