Trusted Dove

My wife had come home last night, but if she did so before my bedtime that was just past 10 p.m. (I believe), I never heard any indication of her being here.

My cellphone alarm was set for 3 a.m., and for a change of late it was left to sound and did so at the appointed time. I tried not to waste too much time before making my getaway to the elementary school playground approximately ⅜ of a mile hence.

There was a delightful cool breeze that would hold sway, and although the sky seemed largely clear, there did appear to be peripheral expanses or swaths of cloud.

Happily, the playground equipment was perfectly dry of any condensation, so that was likely why I was able to manage what I did at this "little kids" playground, for the older kids playground is still non-existent, having been dismantled and removed early this month.

As is my custom at this child's playground, I only bothered with six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups, beginning with two sets of the former (seven and two repetitions); then two sets of chin-ups (three and two repetitions); and finishing with two sets of pull-ups between two half-rings (two repetitions in each set).

The older kids' playground had actual gymnastics-style rings suspended on at least three feet of chain, and from a height sufficient that until a relatively new foundation of sawdust had been spread on the grounds a few months ago, I could hang from the rings without needing to curl my legs behind me.

The half-rings at the small kids' playground are pretty much attached directly to the support bar, and thus can swivel but do not sway. And they are so low that I very much have to curl my legs behind me when I use them.

Anyway, after finishing the last set (a 30-count between sets), I then performed a dead hang on a monkey bars rung ─ again needing to curl my legs behind me ─ that I held for a difficult 70-count.

I miss the older kids' playground a lot! I hope it gets replaced before Summer is done.

I finished up with possibly eight full-range decline push-ups on a nearby ramp that leads to the doorway of a portable classroom.

After getting back home, I waited until around 5 a.m. before watering front yard garden plants because it had been too dark to properly see to the chore when I had gotten home ─ I don't want to be knocking blooms off flower stems.

And I hope that I was back to bed by 6 a.m. Even so, I never managed to sleep well, and I possibly rose nigh 7:40 a.m., aware that my younger brother had already gone downstairs for instant coffee and T.V.

I didn't join him till nearly 9 a.m., and it was at least 9:10 a.m. before he relinquished T.V. control to me so that I could begin operation of our Android TV Box.

First up was a 50½-minute video uploaded July 11 to YouTube's Shawn Ryan Show: Augustus Doricko - Did Cloud Seeding Cause the Texas Floods? | SRS #217.

Augustus Doricko is the founder and CEO of Rainmaker Technology Corp., a company focused on cloud seeding and weather modification. A Thiel Fellow and rising figure in climate tech, Doricko has recently faced public scrutiny following the major floods in Texas. His team conducted a brief cloud seeding operation on July 2 in a limited area of the state, then suspended operations out of caution. While some have raised questions about a possible connection between his work and the recent flooding, Doricko joins us to explain what cloud seeding actually involves—and to weigh in on the growing speculation surrounding it.

I admit that the young man does sound credible ─ I think that he and his company are innocent of the Texas flooding, provided that everything he spoke was the truth and that he held nothing unsaid.

My wife had a full workday today. I first noticed no later than 9:20 a.m. that she had risen, and around the half hour she was showering and otherwise readying for her long workday. It wasn't too long after 10 a.m. that she left us and was on her fairly long drive.

The second show I tuned in was Star Trek: Discovery ─ episode four ("An Obol for Charon") of season two.

Thereafter we finished watching the movie we quit yesterday after a tad over 54 minutes ─ I had previously downloaded it onto a flash or thumb drive. The movie was 2018's A.X.L.

It was good ─ truly enjoyable and even uplifting to some degree. And lead actress Becky G was a treat to look at and watch.

I no longer know my download source, but I see that it is available at this GOOJARA.to link.

My brother returned to his bedroom for further rest following the movie. I had a meal, and late in the noon hour was to bed in pursuit of a needed nap.

The day had much cloud up till then, despite being exceedingly warm. I rose from my nap well before 2 p.m., finding my brother still home. However, soon he and Bev were to leave on whatever errands.

By then there were great expanses of blue sky, but also massed cloud throughout in every direction. I felt no temptation to waste my time doing any sunning.

The latter afternoon did seem to become cloudless, but my brother was never to leave home once he and Bev were back.

I feel guilt-free about not sunning.

At present it is 6:49 p.m. and I am taking a break now from blogging.

As usual, time passes quickly, so this update to my day will not be elaborate ─ mid-evening has already passed. I will merely lay out facts and save the griping.

I used my bedside computer to tune in Titans ─ episode two ("Hawk and Dove") of season one.

I am certain I have watched this and maybe the first episode before, but I only have that hunch ─ so why? Was I drinking excessively back then? Thus far, the series is completely unlike what I have come to expect for soft-touch DC fare ─ this series is dark and violent. Heck, this episode even featured impotence with one of the superheroes.

Actress Minka Kelly is awesomely beautiful and comforting as character "Dawn Granger / Dove" ─ I love her voice, too. Her partner "Hawk" is played by actor Alan Ritchson, who is unknown to me, but very impressive ─ and I see now that he has the title role in a series I have been considering getting into called Reacher.

I drank a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) during the episode ─ which I watched at this GOOJARA.to link; and then I broke for my day's second meal.

After my sensible-sized supper I tuned in FBI ─ episode two ("Trusted") of season seven. As well, a second can of beer. And for the third time today, my episode source was a GOOJARA.to link ─ long may that website survive!

Time to start shutting down. It is presently 10:04 p.m., so I am not going to bother setting my cellphone alarm. Should I somehow awaken feeling peculiarly refreshed, then fine ─ I will get myself up for an outing. But I am feeling somewhat 'off' at present, and have no desire to cut short any possibly restorative sleep.
