πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠ It's Complicated

My bedtime last evening was 10:30 p.m., for I engaged in sordid dalliance here at my computer instead of immediately taking advantage of my younger brother's commitment yet again to passing out early into the very first episode of one of the T.V. shows that we follow.

At least my wife did not arrive home before I had managed to find some sleep ─ she had worked the day at the Thai restaurant that employs her.

I tend to sleep in a succession of naps, so when the first such fragment of sleep was done, I was aware that she was home and had come into the bedroom to turn on the lamp by her bedside. It was not yet midnight, so I knew that my brother was still watching T.V. downstairs.

My wife was in no rush to come to bed, however; and I was not overly bothered by the lamp light because I was wearing both earplugs and a bandana blindfold.

Another bout of sleep blessed me, and then I was awake again around 12:30 a.m. I think my brother may still have been up, but I felt that I required more bed rest than thus far achieved, so I was to find yet a further napping session.

Upon checking the time and seeing it to be around 1:30 a.m., I felt better about getting up. My brother was by this time long shut up into his bedroom. However, I was not immediately able to come to my computer to work on the post at one of my six hosted websites that I had intended to add further content into, because my wife was seated here and had been using the machine.

But that was fine ─ I had gone to bed earlier without brushing my teeth, so I went downstairs to do that. The process takes a minimum of 15 minutes. I use coconut oil and do as thorough a job as I am able, afterward swishing the oil about in my mouth before finally expectorating it into our compost bin.

My wife was quite sociable and friendly, and after getting reassurance that I would be remaining up for quite some while, she asked that after approximately an hour I turn off the electric rice cooker she had running.

And at that, she took herself to bed at long last, and I was free to get to work on the website post.

When after a few hours I had completed the work I wanted to put into the post for the night, I then re-engaged the iniquitous occupation that had so foully dominated me last evening, pursuing the addiction until the endorphin fix was total.

My return to bed was likely not until a little beyond 5:30 a.m.

I don't think I thereafter bothered checking the time until I was ready to rise once more right around 9:00 a.m., at which time I was to find that my brother was already downstairs with the T.V. running. Fridays tend to be his laundry day, so he was probably tending to that chore in our laundry area and not presently in the living room.

I remained upstairs here at my computer until toward 10:00 a.m., then went downstairs to fix my day's first hot caffeinated beverage before joining my brother and putting our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box into operation.

I had a movie in mind for the morning ─ the 2009 feature It's Complicated.

I expected some grumbling from my brother over my choice, but he said naught, and even seemed to be finding it interesting as it wore on.

The movie was well acted, and quite entertaining. I would definitely recommend it.

The Alec Baldwin character looked like he was going to win back his Meryl Streep ex-wife character ─ the two had been divorced for a decade, and he was now married to a much younger woman whose character was no longer the exciting distraction he used to enjoy so much. In addition, his young wife wanted a baby even though they already had a five-year-old boy, and he was now feeling his age and not desirous of any more children.

I was never clear if the young boy was biologically his, or if the tot was the young wife's from a previous relationship.

Anyway, I do not intend to detail the movie plot ─ Wikipedia speaks in enough detail about it. I merely brought up what I did because I was quite surprised to recognize the actress playing the young wife ─ the actress was Lake Bell from the current T.V. comedy series Bless This Mess.

I have to admit that I wish the movie gave some idea on what was to become of the Alec Baldwin character ─ he had left his young wife in a desperate bid to prove to his ex- that he was absolutely serious about making a life with her once more.

Oh, well.

It rather surprised me that my wife got up around 10:00 a.m., even though she didn't have to work at the restaurant until its 4:30 p.m. afternoon opening. Perhaps she really only wanted to get some cooking done to leave for the household, and to also do some of her laundry.

She did seek a nap toward mid-afternoon, and was shut up in the bedroom for an hour or more.

My brother and I had watched T.V. until 1:00 p.m., and then he sought more bed rest to fortify himself for his usual afternoon foray to head away to a bar to re-engage in his daily drinking.

While he was having his rest, I took the opportunity to get out to the backyard toolshed to have some exercise.

The day has been quite overcast, but there has been no rain.

When my wife was set to leave us to drive away to work, she looked especially nice, so I imposed upon her to be the subject of the following five photos that I took in our living room at 3:33 p.m. / 3:34 p.m.:

I don't know if she will be home this evening, for she generally spends her weekends somewhere in Vancouver ─ such is my sorry marriage. But I hope she behaves and doesn't re-involve herself in any further gambling ─ the debt is already far beyond any managing.
