Cloud and Sun

As a result of my younger brother arriving home very early last evening from wherever he had been drinking, I was to sit with him and watch T.V. from 8:00 p.m. via our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box that only I am skilled enough to operate.

My wife arrived home in the latter evening from her day working at her friend's Thai restaurant, but apart from the initial exchange of greetings when she walked into the house, I had no further communication with her that evening.

I watched T.V. with my brother, and I even had myself a can of strong (8% alcohol) beer, before finally taking my leave and going upstairs to bed ─ my wife was in her two sons' den area eating with the lads.

It was 10:55 p.m. once I was into my bed; and it was to be a full 55 minutes (i.e., 11:50 p.m.) when my wife eventually joined me. I wear earplugs and a bandana blindfold, so she just accepts that I am likely sleeping, but I had not as yet managed to get there.

Of course, sleep was to come and go in successions; and I believe that it was approaching 2:00 a.m. when I made the decision to rise and put some work into the post I am constructing at one of my six hosted websites.

My youngest stepson was till up, but he soon enough went to bed following a shower.

I never returned to bed until nearly 5:15 a.m. Yet sleep was still somewhat elusive; and by 8:00 a.m. it had become so fractured that I lay awake some while before deciding to just get up and come here to my computer ─ my brother was already downstairs with the T.V. on.

I waited until nearly 10:00 a.m. before going downstairs to fix my day's first hot caffeinated beverage, and then I joined him and soon had our Android TV Box in operation again. My wife had risen before I went downstairs, but she had nipped away to do some grocery shopping after confessing that she had taken $200 from my chequing account.

Perhaps around 12:45 p.m., my brother announced that he was ready to seek some further rest in his bedroom ere leaving for the afternoon to ultimately recommence his drinking somewhere. My wife was variously involved in gardening and cooking.

I had a session of exercising scheduled today for out in the backyard toolshed, but it took quite some while before I felt capable of contending with it. I am feeling overexercised of late, and my performance proved that conviction. I am also finding myself feeling excessively stiff and inflexible, and I do not like the condition at all.

The day has been more cloud than Sun, but I could have tried to enjoy some sunshine in the backyard if I had felt up to it. But I did not ─ I wanted a nap. However, I felt myself unable to seek it until after my wife left for work ─ she was only putting in half a day, and left here awhile after 3:30 p.m. My brother had gone long before that.

I am not expecting my wife back until after the weekend ─ she tends to spend her weekends somewhere in Vancouver (such is our sorry marriage). I have no idea when my brother will return. If it is early enough in the evening and he is in tolerable condition, then I will watch further T.V. with him this evening.

If he is not home by 8:30 p.m. or so, I will seek an early bedtime. I hope to get in some decently long walks over the next two mornings.

I want to post some photos now, inspired by the notification today from Google Photos that it had automatically created a collage from three photos that were taken right around this date two years ago early into a trip my wife took to Rome to visit a sister of hers who makes Italy her home.

This is the collage:

My wife's digital camera did not have its date setting adjusted for that trip, so even though Google Photos 'sees' the images metadata as having been created at a certain time on June 5, 2018, that is not at all accurate.

I would venture that the photos were more likely taken on June 4, 2018.

These are the three original photos ─ or copies of them, anyway. The first one may even have been taken by my wife as her airliner was approaching its Italian destination:

I cannot offer anything more by way of description. I wouldn't mind knowing something of the history of the ruin in the other two photos.

My evening is now early upon me and I would like to have a bath, so I am bringing this post to a close here.
