As I suspected was to happen, my younger brother was not yet home when I retired for the evening just ahead of 9:15 p.m. last evening. Of course, the usual broken sleep ensued for me, and I rose in the latter half of the midnight hour after lying awake for awhile.
Only my youngest stepson was still up ─ I could hear him chatting away to someone via his computer. I don't know just what he becomes engaged with, but he can keep some darned late hours in this fashion.
I got to work on the post I am constructing at one of my six hosted websites, and it may have been beyond 4:30 a.m. before I returned to bed. My 22-year-old stepson had not gone to his bed until around 4:00 a.m.
However, I was awake by 8:00 a.m. and up from my bed again before 8:30 a.m. My youngest stepson can remain in bed for a dozen or more hours without any apparent difficulty, so I do not expect to be laying eyes upon him until well into the latter afternoon.
My brother had already risen ahead of me and was downstairs watching T.V., but I came here to my computer to work on my private blog before I went downstairs just ahead of 10:00 a.m. to fix up my day's first hot caffeinated beverage and then join my brother and put our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box into use.
One of the shows we were to watch was the season two premiere episode of Falling Water ─ we had watched the season finale of season one earlier in the week (maybe Tuesday).
It was almost immediately that I recognized that "The Boy" ─ James ─ was being played by an entirely different actor. And then when the older sister of main character "Tess" appeared, I did not at first know who the character was because she was also being played by a new actress.
I have found substantiation for that latter fact ─ the older sister was played by Brooke Bloom in season one, and by Brittany Allen in season two; but my research failed to turn up any discussion of there being two different actors playing Tess's son James from season one to season two.
In season one, the actor clearly was a child actor named Bryson Williams (or S. Bryson Williams) ─ you can see the lad with lead actor David Arujo in this photo, if the link remains valid. The lad's character's full name is James Brighton ─ you can see another photo of him at Falling-Water.Fandom.com here.
James barely spoke a word in the entire first season.
However, in season two, he speaks as if he was a normal boy ─ you can see a video clip of him with his mother Tess Brighton in the following YouTube clip if the link remains valid: Falling Water Exclusive Sneak Peek | SYFY WIRE.
That is a different child actor from the boy in season one ─ the child actor in season two is Aidan Wojtak-Hissong (or just Aidan Wojtak); three photos of him can be found at IMDB.com here (if the link remains valid).
I can find absolutely nothing explaining why there are two different actors playing the lad James ─ heck, I can't even find any mention that this is even so! In fact, if you go back to IMDB.com to check the exhaustive cast of the series here (scroll down past the two sets of credits for directors and then writers), you will see that Aidan Wojtak-Hissong is eleventh in the actor list and S. Bryson Williams is fifteenth.
However, S. Bryson Williams is identified as playing "The Boy", whereas Aidan Wojtak-Hissong gets credited with playing someone named "Frank".
Well, James and his mother Tess are already incognito in a sort of witness protection arrangement set up by the characters played by David Arujo and Will Yun Lee. As seen in the video clip, Tess calls her son by his name James ─ not some 'undercover' name Frank.
So what in blazes is going on? Who is the boy character "Frank" if he is not the same boy "James" in the video clip?
Maybe James is yet to undergo an identity switch as season two progresses, but I can't see how that could handily work. Kids do not easily pull off that sort of thing ─ especially if he has to go to school and makes friends.
And why does he act like a regular kid in that first episode when not a year earlier he was practically mute and so danged weird?
My evening is now upon me, and I still have to exercise, so I want to bring this post to a close.
All I will additionally say is that we had some rain in the morning, but the afternoon became quite sunny. However, I didn't attempt to spend any time outside ─ I needed a mid-afternoon nap too seriously, and then I got to work on this post.
My brother may well come home early this evening; but if he is blitzed, I won't try to watch any of our shows with him.
