It was getting pretty darned near 10 p.m. last evening ere I was to bed ─ I had been involving myself iniquitously until I realized that my younger brother was finally home from wherever he had been drinking.
I was already up later than I much cared, so I hustled myself directly to bed to avoid entanglement with him.
Unfortunately ─ probably due to my somewhat excess late supper ─ I slept quite ill. I checked the time once when it was likely no later than 11:30 p.m., and then again late in the midnight hour.
I think that was when I rose to put work into the post I still have not published at one of my six hosted websites after about a month since creating the post.
I felt poorly-slept. Yet once I had supplied the targetted quota of content into the post, I surrendered myself to reinvolvement in the vileness that had occupied me in the evening just past. There was no turning back from the addictive behaviour until repletion, by which time it was approaching 6:30 a.m.
And even then, sleep was damned elusive.
I rose a little before 9:30 a.m. and immediately sought a bath; and it was around 10:20 a.m. before I was downstairs to join my brother and put our Android TV Box into operation to seek episodes of two of the T.V. series we follow.
We are now finally finished with one of those series ─ Shadowhunters. I think that I only missed tuning in just one episode ─ possibly in the final third season. I had gotten confused as to where we had left off, and the descriptions offered for the episodes at that point were simply too ambiguous. Thus, I am certain that I unfortunately skipped one of them.
The series was quite interesting, but I have to admit that I found it annoying how everyone would always use the epithet "By the Angel!" Everyone lived in the supposed real world ─ so why the heck would this be a commonplace epithet to the exclusion of anything else that we "mundanes" use?
I found this to be ludicrous and it always made the series suddenly feel contrived.
Early into the series, I was immediately drawn to the character Isabelle ("Izzy") Lightwood ─ for one thing, actress Emeraude Toubia seemed to me to have gorgeously-muscled legs. And she was dramatically beautiful and mature.
By comparison, main character Clairy Fray seemed to me quite juvenile, and decidedly scrawny alongside Isabelle. Actress Katherine McNamara (who played Clairy) did herself seem to mature over the course of the series; but her legs remained practically thin compared to those of Emeraude.
Yes, legs on gals are a big deal for me, apparently. Sue me.
I didn't realize that Katherine became a regular on the series Arrow in season eight. My brother and I haven't watched any episodes since finishing with the seventh season ─ it's actually going to be good to see her once more whenever we resume watching that series.
I have had to research the names of these two actresses, by the way. Throughout the series, I never knew their names. In fact, I only came to know the name of just one of the entire cast members ─ that of Alisha Wainright. She played lovely werewolf Maia Roberts, and I early on came to find her extremely appealing. In fact, hers was one of my favourite characters.
The series ended rather nicely ─ quite a rare thing for so many T.V. series. I actually found myself getting teary. It would have been nice to have been able to allow looser reign to my emotions by not having anyone else around ─ I don't care to appear weepy in front of other family members.
And how lovely to see all of the villains actually die! That is also too rare an enjoyment in most T.V. series and movie franchises.
My brother opted to seek his bed rest late in the noon hour to restore him for his afternoon departure to end up drinking somewhere. I sought my own nap fairly soon after he had retired to his bedroom; and when I emerged from my bedroom afterwards, he was already gone.
The afternoon was quite sunny, so I opted to continue with my sunning. I managed just over 45 minutes sunning my front; and just over 20 minutes sunning my back.
Flies out there on the backyard lawn are becoming a nuisance ─ no doubt largely due to the two damned, noisy dogs in residence in the property just beyond our backyard fence.
I think I successfully turned two of the flies into 'walks' ─ if I may call non-flying flies such a thing. Possibly they may eventually recover enough to fly again, but I don't really care. The last I saw of them, they were hopping and crawling through the short grass of the lawn.
The accursed things had kept tormenting me by persistently alighting on my feet and legs, so they reaped their own reward for not taking the hints I was making perfectly clear whenever I was using my tank top as a fly-swatter.
I might normally have felt some conscience, but today I have been in a foul mood.
I want to post three photos ─ one of my two stepsons took the photos of their mother (my wife) sometime around mid-evening last Thursday (August 6).
She was showcasing a mix of fresh salad greens she had prepared to accompany a couple of the Thai dishes she had cooked up ─ at the time, she was seated on the floor in her sons' den area, eating with the lads.
I was wrapped up in the living room operating our Android TV Box for the benefit of my brother and I.
I still have some exercise to tackle, and my evening is already past 7 p.m. ─ I have no idea when my brother may return. If he happens to show up after 8:30 p.m., I want to be ready to hightail it to bed and avoid him.
I also still have to have my supper! So I must now proofread this post and get it published.
