As I lay in bed late last evening awaiting my younger brother's retirement for the night, I became aware that I was hearing the distinct patterings of some rain on the carport roof just outside my open bedroom window.
It was around 11:50 p.m., but I do not know if the rain may have been already begun before then. Suffice to say that we likely had rain overnight, and on through this morning. It never poured; rather, it was a steady drizzle or heavy light rain.
But after maybe 1½ months without any noticeable or appreciable rain, it was welcome. And so was the reprieve I have today from that obligation to spend an hour or more out in the backyard sunning this afternoon.
My wife had come home last evening at some point while I was drifting in and out of a few stretches of latter-evening napping as I fortified myself for those overnight hours when I would be at work here at my computer.
When I eventually did rise late into the midnight hour because my brother was resisting his bedroom and too much time was wasting (he had probably gotten a 'second wind' because he had passed out soon after he was home last evening and had turned on the T.V.), I found that my wife had already disassembled the rather large and heavy package of products from The iCon Group that I wrote about in yesterday's post.
I think that she said that this time the package only contained a special shampoo ─ many bottles; but she had customers anxiously awaiting the delivery.
And early this afternoon, she left to apparently start doing that ─ delivering them.
My brother and I didn't watch anything of a plandemic / scamdemic / casedemic nature this morning. After he turned on the T.V. once he had finished with the Saturday morning edition of the Vancouver Sun that I subscribe to, and I then joined him, we settled for some misnamed 2020 Olympic Games updates.
I was happy to learn that our women's team won the gold medal in soccer (football), barely beating out the Swedish team in a shoot-out. Naturally, Sweden got the silver medal. The U.S. had to overcome Australia to get the bronze medal.
We also watched some track & field performances ─ gosh, some of those women running in those sprint competitions have unbelievably gorgeously-muscled glutes and thighs that are perfected showcased in their rather skimpy briefs.
Ever since I was a young man just into my 20s, I have always wanted to have a girlfriend who was athletic with whom I could train in various exercising activities, but I always had to go it alone. I never even had a male friend interested in the pursuit of fitness.
And now here I am at the age of 71, and I have yet to even know an athletic woman, let alone to have ever had one as a training and exercising companion or partner.
I felt bad for lovely Sage Watson as she ran the final or anchor leg in our women's team in the 4 x 400 (metres) relay final, coming so close to finally getting us a bronze in this event. She just didn't have enough in her tank to withstand the push in a Jamaican runner who managed to pull from behind and overtake her for that medal.
I know that Sage will feel like she was the cause of her team failing to make the podium, for she did have the initial lead over the Jamaican. I well know that I would have felt like a loser if I had been running that anchor leg. But that's how I always think for myself ─ it is most certainly not what I judged for Sage. She was absolutely magnificent, and I am deeply proud of her.
There's an entire replay of that run at Intelligencer.ca, and it shows poor Sage sitting on the ground crying after the finish while her teammates console her for the failure to stay ahead of the Jamaican runner.
The foursome are a little more composed in this shot following the race (Sage is the blonde standing erect):
I love how the Polish gals ─ who won silver ─ were almost uncontrollably excited with what they had done. They looked so adorable in their exuberance ─ it was wonderful to witness. If the video is still available at that Intelligencer.ca link, check it out ─ it's not much more than four minutes long.
I ought here to mention that the latter afternoon has had some good sunny breaks and patches of blue sky, obviously.
As I worked on this post, I had it dawn upon me that I had neglected to get some exercising out of the way, so I had to break and do that ─ it was already well past 4 p.m., and I had not even had a meal today as yet. I no sooner had put together a small feed when my wife showed up, expressing surprise that I was only eating then, for it was around 5 p.m.
Anyway, she left us just ahead of 6:35 p.m. to head on in to Vancouver where she tends to spend most of her weekends, and I do not expect her back until probably Monday ─ such is our marriage.
She left us a good supper, at least.
Since my evening is underway, I want to finish up this post, and get into some T.V. and a beer or two, or maybe some wine instead of a second beer ─ we shall see.
I want to close with my huge disappointment with actress Jennifer Aniston, proving her deficiency of actual intelligence. I've always adored the woman, but now I am ashamed of her.
She has reportedly come out and said that she now refuses to have any social involvements with anybody who has not been experimentally 'vaccinated'. Now, I do not know if she made that declaration out of her sheer ignorance; or if she has been 'bought off' and is now basically a shill for the forces behind the worldwide agenda that is in play.
Either way, she has lost my respect.
Someone whose name is practically meaningless to me ─ a rapper ─ has, however, earned my respect for his stance concerning face masks: Busta Rhymes Talk About COVID Live From St Louis MO 06.19.2021.
I hate rap. Heck, I am not even sure if Busta Rhymes name is vaguely familiar to me for his own sake, or if I am mistaking that familiarity with the name because of some remembrance of the professional football player Buster Rhymes.
It does not matter ─ I applaud the rapper for his 100% correct position on face masks. I have no intention of ever starting to listen to his music, but I can still like the man for the strength of integrity and perspicacity he has displayed. This is not a sheep ─ like simple Jennifer Aniston has proven herself to be.
That is it for me today.
