Monday Hangover and an Old Man's Woes

As written was planned in yesterday's post, early last evening I watched my first Christmas movie in this latter half of the year. I had to download it onto a flash drive and play it via our Android TV Box in order to watch it on T.V., but all went smoothly after that.

The only 'app' within the Android TV Box that seemed to have any working source links for the movie was Stremio, but none of the sources played smoothly. They began stalling and basically buffering straight off.

Google was scant help in locating a source, so I used Yandex.com which generally proves more reliable for this sort of thing.

The movie I was after was 2012's Christmas Song.

The website I downloaded the movie from was M4UFfree.tv, but anyone using it probably needs to be certain that he or she has a good ad blocker. The browser 'apps' I have within my Android TV Box failed miserably ─ every time I clicked the 'play' icon for the movie, a new advertisement tab would open up and no movie ever did begin playing.

Provided that the link remains valid and that it will open up in your browser, this was how I downloaded the movie ─ right-clicking on this movie screen brings up a menu that includes "Save Video As", and that did the trick.

However, it was a slow process.

Of course, anyone could just watch it as is on a computer. Don't be concerned that the opening credits are in German ─ the movie itself was entirely in English without a subtitle to be seen.

I admit having my doubts about the movie during its opening scene in the principal's office, but I soon enough warmed right up to the movie.

None of the actresses or actors were certainly familiar to me, the lead character being played by actress Natasha Henstridge. However, her lengthy acting credits indicate that I have surely seen her before.

I thought that maybe the actress portraying one of the two singing female students (the shy one) was potentially familiar ─ Brittany Adams. Those big eyes of hers were what gave me that impression. Interestingly, when her name is clicked upon in Wikipedia, instead of being brought to a small biography, one is instead led straight to a write-up for a T.V. series she was featured in. I don't recall that ever happening with an actor or actress before.

The other singing female student was a flirt played by actress Amanda Thomson who does not even get any recognition by Wikipedia.

During the movie, I drank a can of strong (8% alcohol) beer, and then had more red wine than I was able to handle as was evident after I retired mid-evening. My brother conveniently showed up (from wherever he had been drinking) right after the movie had ended and I had turned things off and gone upstairs.

I retired then, but had a dreadful time trying to sleep. One issue was a far worse than usual symptom of the genitourinary dysfunction that I have been cursed with. I was beset with the need to micturate, but the barest trickle was managed anytime I sought relief from the burning need, and that need never was fully satisfied. I suppose the technical term for this trouble is urethral stricture.

It is spirit-crushing to suffer such a pathology ─ last night it made me feel undeserving of life.

I attempted relief at least three times in very short order, and never did get full satisfaction.

When I later rose during the midnight hour after very little sleep, my brother had newly gone to bed, and I was into something of a hangover. I did try, but I was never able to perform all of the work that I would otherwise have gotten done here at my computer, for that hangover only made me feel in serious need of sleep.

I think that I finally gave up and went back to bed no later than 4:30 a.m. after going outside to water some of the plants in the front yard. But as I was discharging that errand, I became aware that it had begun to very lightly rain.

Why the hell did it wait until then? Everything seemed to be going wrong for me.

Note that I engaged more micturition than usual over the time that I was up ─ fortunately with far less obstruction than in the evening when I was seeking to sleep.

But I don't want to talk about this ─ I never have before.

What sleep I was to get after returning to bed was of course welcome, and I rose around 9:15 a.m. after first considering doing so for several minutes.

My brother of course was watching T.V., but he soon stopped in order to head away to pick up his girlfriend Bev and drive her to work.

After his return, one of the videos that we watched via our Android TV Box was The Sequel to the Fall of the Cabal - Part 9

I had previously downloaded the video, so the source that I linked to here is not the very one that I used ─ I no longer recall which link I used those several weeks back.

We finished up our viewing together with an episode of Black Summer ─ specifically, season two's episode 5 "White Horse".

Thereafter, my brother sought a little bed rest before heading away for the afternoon. I had been both tired and hungry, but I forced myself to get the day's scheduled toolshed exercising out of the way before having a meal ─ my brother left while I was eating.

And then I had a needed nap.

As has been happening of late, the overcast morning became sunny enough that I sat outside in the backyard for just over 40 minutes ─ today, this began at 4:36 p.m. I wore cargo shorts and a tank top, for there was a cool breeze, and anytime a cloud presented, it grew cooler. However, I did enjoy primarily sunshine ─ I could have doffed the tank top.

I still do not feel recovered from last evening's indulgence in more alcohol than I am accustomed to. This sort of experience makes me hesitant to watch another Christmas movie anytime too soon, for I enjoy drinking during these features in order to enhance the emotion ─ I definitely succeeded last evening, feeling myself affected a number of times.

I want to have a bath, and it is already after 6:30 p.m., so I am going to quit this post here and get it published. Tomorrow ought to be a better day.
