πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠ A Sunday Somehow Salvaged

The culmination of my self-dishonour was a minute or two after midnight, so obviously I spent the prior excess of two hours last evening depravely engaged.

It was my hope to get away early this morning on the 5.625-mile round trip hike to the nearest Real Canadian Superstore outlet (Google Map), leaving as soon around 6 a.m. as possible, so that was beginning to look a little questionable.

I got to bed intending to try and sleep for as long as reasonably possible, but my sleep was effectively disrupted around 2 a.m. by my cellphone's ringing ─ it was my wife.

I failed in my attempt to accept the call, as often enough does happen ─ that is, the device refuses to respond no matter how vigorously I may tap or attempt to slide the icon that is supposed to allow me to take a call.

That happened, and I was then forced to log into my cellphone and spend a minute or more trying to place a returned call, for even that simple manoeuvre does not always unfold without issue.

But I eventually succeeded, and my wife took the returned call.

She seemed to have been drinking. She wanted me to go downstairs and take some photos of the stereo system cabinet, claiming that she wanted to have a piano brought home tomorrow (Monday).

I have no idea what is going on with her. We have no place in the area occupied by our stereos system cabinet for anything like an actual piano, even if someone is giving her one and she isn't actually buying someone's castoff. And besides, no one plays such an instrument.

Besides that, what would we then do with the stereo?

I was frustrated at having my sleep fouled by this seeming fool's errand, but I complied and managed to have three photos sent off. No acknowledgement was made, though, and I have still to hear anything further from my wife (she tends to spend most of her weekends in Vancouver).

Now I was truly in despair about that planned shopping expedition (I do not drive), for early Sunday mornings are the only time of the week I dare to make such a venture. A statutory holiday is also acceptable, but none are nigh.

I absolutely hate being out in the public.

Somehow I managed some further sleep; and then when next awake, I checked the time and saw it to be something like 4:44 a.m. It was time to get up, but I was so desirous of more sleep that I wasted a couple of minutes just helplessly laying there in bed, almost in anguish over my predicament.

Ultimately I did make the trip, but I nearly did not. It was 6:14 a.m. by the time I had set off, and I was lacking some of my usual confidence for such a journey.

The Sun was not yet peeking above the horizon, so I was spared its brilliance for slightly over half the trip. It seems to be rising dramatically later than it was doing even a month ago.

I was to fulfill the chore, but I forgot one of the items I had meant to purchase. Even then, however, my load was considerable despite being shared into two separate tote bags. As often happens, I was challenged by the return trip, and forced to set a far slower pace than was the case in getting to the store.

My younger brother had not come home last night, apparently spending it at the home of his girlfriend Bev. But I saw that he was home as I approached our house.

I was annoyed that he had locked the front door. Happily, though, I came into the house and found that he must have returned to bed ─ he tends to sleep badly at Bev's home, for she is a victim of a bad smoker's cough that will erupt periodically overnight. Sometimes she has been even known to get up to have a cigarette, poor thing.

I was able to put away my purchases in peace; and then soon enough ─ maybe by 9 a.m. at latest ─ I also returned to bed.

I was awake anew by 10 a.m., and after a couple or so minutes, managed to get myself up. I hoped to watch some videos of a scamdemic / plandemic / casedemic nature during the latter morning with my brother.

I found him to already be watching something ─ an episode of The Nature of Things. Nevertheless, I went downstairs to boil water for a black instant coffee, and then I joined him, hoping that he would soon enough invite me to put our Android TV Box to use. At commercial breaks, he would switch over to the CBC news channel.

A big deal there has been our Crime Minister Justin Trudeau's announcement of a September 20 federal election as the lousy prick seeks a majority government so that he can do even more outrageous tyrannical actions than he has been managing to do with his minority government.

The programme on The Nature of Things that my brother was watching seemed to be all about rabbits, so by 10:35 a.m. I had seen enough ─ I had far more interesting and important things to be doing here at my computer than wast time like I was doing, so I left him and came back upstairs.

However, at 11 a.m. I rejoined him; and soon enough, he did issue the invitation to put something else on. I settled on tuning in an episode of Amazing Polly that was slightly over 37 minutes in duration: Amazing Polly on Quite Frankly Aug 4th 2021.

Well, I had never before heard of "Frank from Quite Frankly", and since it was essentially him interviewing her ─ she was unseen, so she must have been in phone contact ─ nothing much was learned. In fact, as my brother was to observe afterwards, it was quite boring.

I followed that programme with an episode of Arrow ─ specifically, season seven's episode 14.

And that was all we had time for ─ my brother was ready for a return to his bedroom to rest up ere taking off for the afternoon to eventually resume his daily drinking somewhere.

The day had been sunny with blue skies, so I intended to get in some afternoon sunning and atone for having skipped the previous two days. When finally my brother left, I realized that the sky was not quite as blue as I had thought it to be.

Nevertheless, despite accumulating thin cloud cover, at 2:52 p.m. I put in a minimum of 40 minutes sunning my front while sporting my swimming trunks; and then I exposed my back for well over a further half hour.

I have since checked Google to see what is in store with the local weather, and it seems we may be due some rain tomorrow, with more possible on Tuesday.

It is good that I did not seek to skip sunning today.

I am going to stop blogging right here, for it is already after 7:30 p.m., and I want a beer and a little television to enjoy it with. I had a nap a while earlier once I had a heavy meal after my sunning session, but I don't believe that I will have much trouble getting to sleep when I seek some over the latter evening to shore me up for the several hours in which I hope to be sitting up overnight working here at my computer.

How is it possible that we are essentially halfway through August!?
