It certainly is a relief to me when my eldest son has an afternoon or graveyard shift and I am not forced to ensure that I return to bed well ahead of 5 a.m. weekday mornings before he notices that I am still up ─ otherwise I have to stay up to be certain that he has locked the front door when he leaves for work.
If he sees my light on here upstairs, he won't lock the door.
He has begun an afternoon shift this week, so now I am able to be more liberal with my time overnight. Yet that said, this morning I found myself fighting to get back to bed by 6:30 a.m. ─ much too late to be doing so. By the time I managed to get back to sleep, when I later took a check of the time it was already just after 10 a.m. ─ that's when I am usually downstairs to watch some T.V. with my younger brother!
Obviously I had to put in a hustle to get myself up and hie myself on downstairs to join him, and then get our Android TV Box into action.
Unfortunately, I needed time beforehand to locate and set up any videos of a scamdemic / plandemic / casedemic nature that I might want for us to watch on media platforms such as BitChute or Rumble and so forth, so any of that viewing material was out.
Thus, in the main, we spent most of our viewing time together watching regular T.V. shows, leading off with an episode of The Graham Norton Show ─ specifically, season 28's episode 12.
I must here admit, though, that none of the guests meant anything to me: Olly Alexander, David Mitchell, Mel Giedroyc, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jimmy Fallon, Regina King, and Yungblud. Sure, I am very familiar with Jimmy Fallon, but I rarely watch the show ─ there is too much silliness for this 71-year-old. I'm not yet senile ─ I still have an outlook of an adult, and not a juvenile or child.
And I have heard the name of Regina King, but I know nothing of her ─ I don't even know if I have ever even seen her before; so she was basically an unknown. As well, she, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jimmy Fallon were remote guests through video links, so they were only 'present' for a short portion of the show.
One excellent thing that came of watching the episode was that I now have the names of at least a couple of series to try out. Normally I would have likely passed by The Queen's Gambit, but I will give it a try. I did not realize until I referred to her Wikipedia biography that I am familiar with actress Anya Taylor-Joy as a result of a recurring role she had in Peaky Blinders. The character name Gina Gray doesn't ring any bells, but I can now place her as a result of her very unusual eyes ─ I was quite struck by her beauty / looks as a rich young woman who was an expert on racing horses, and who had a fling with Tommy Shelby (of course).
So yes, I would like to see her again ─ the miniseries The Queen's Gambit is becoming most likely as a candidate to tune in.
Rock singer Yungblud looked like he was not going to appeal to me. However, he was featured as an interviewee towards the end of the show after his musical performance, and I found myself rather liking the young fellow despite his very punkish looks ─ or his music.
My brother and I also watched an episode of Arrow (season seven's episode 15) and Deadbeat (season three's episode five).
After my brother sought some bed rest before he left for the afternoon to eventually end up engaging his daily drinking somewhere, I also opted to get some rest in my bed. My brother was still here for a while afterwards ─ he is usually gone. He tends to be quite eager to get away.
We've had an overcast day, so sunning has been off the cards.
I want to mention that our household had all five of our voter's cards come in today's mail, and that motivated me to see just who the candidates are for our riding in the upcoming September 20 federal election.
I now see who it is from the People's Party of Canada that I will be voting for: a Joe Kennedy. I apparently live in the Surrey Centre riding of the Fraser Valley and Southern Lower Mainland area.
This is what has me fully converted:
A People’s Party government will:
- Promote a rational and scientifically based approach to the pandemic that focuses on the protection of the most vulnerable, guarantees the freedom of Canadians to make decisions based on informed consent, and rejects coercion and discrimination.
- Fire the Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Theresa Tam and replace her with someone who will work with provincial agencies to implement a rational approach to the pandemic, instead of following the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
- Repeal vaccine mandates and regular testing for federal civil servants and workers in federally regulated industries.
- Repeal vaccine passports for travellers.
- Oppose vaccine mandates, vaccine passports, and other authoritarian measures imposed by provincial governments, and support individuals and groups that challenge such measures in court.
- Support emergency provincial measures to protect the most vulnerable, but stop bailing out provinces that impose economically destructive lockdowns.
- Support medical research and development of therapies to treat covid-19 and other viral diseases.
Where concerns that second point about firing Theresa Tam, she and every lying provincial health officer should not only be fired; but they should be brought to court and charged with wilful murder.
I am 71 years old, and I have never before voted for any party ─ federally and provincially ─ but the NDP. That nearly lifelong trend has not only come to an end, but I cannot see now that I will ever vote for that party as long as I may live.
They are as corrupt and deceitful as all of the other main parties.
That's my say for today ─ I want to get in some T.V. time and find a Christmas movie, and have a beer or two, so I am calling it a day right here.
Or maybe not where the movie is concerned ─ my wife just showed up. I will have to watch something more mainstream.
