Together

I rose overnight to a 3:30 a.m. setting of my cellphone alarm, for I never got to bed last evening till too near 10:30 p.m.; and even then, I came close to calling things off and returning to bed at 3:30 a.m.

But I had my outing ─ the nigh 1½-mile round trip walk to the elementary school playground for a half dozen sets up pull-ups and chin-ups. I was to find that despite my tool shed failures of both Saturday and Sunday, I am remaining constant with my recent performances at the playground.

The equipment was dry, except for a very vague sheen on the bar I was to use for a dead hang ─ I felt obliged to use my bandana to wipe it dry.

So two sets of pull-ups (seven and two reps); two sets of chin-ups (three reps in each); and two sets of pull-ups between a pair of half-rings (two reps in each).

There had been a 30-count between the sets; and it was likely as much as two minutes before I tackled the dead hang for a 90-count. If the bar had not been painted with a slick and glossy yellow, I could have held on for a 100-count, but my right hand was steadily slipping.

I sure miss the older kids' playground that was removed early in July and yet to be replaced.

Anyway, I finished up after maybe another couple or more minutes with 10 slow full-range decline push-ups on a metal ramp.

I never got back to bed until around 7:30 a.m. because I felt committed to watering the front yard garden plants, and that cannot be done until maybe 5:45 a.m. at earliest due to longer nights now.

In my old journal back in 1984 at this time, I had written that the early a.m. of August 24 was so chilly that I felt frost to be soon visiting. And for the wee a.m. of August 25, I wrote that I was reluctant to get up for an early outing because with my open bedroom window, the night seemed too unpleasantly chilly.

Wow!

Yet the daytime was probably as hot as present, which of late has been into the mid-80s degrees Fahrenheit (maybe as much as 30ยบ Celsius).

I was only in bed a bit over an hour after my a.m. outing this morning, I would say. My younger brother was downstairs watching T.V., so I wanted to be available soon after 9 a.m. to take over the viewing with our Android TV Box.

When I got that invitation, I tuned in a 1½-hour (1:29:03) video published August 20 to Rumble's WTFLouie channel: Dr Lee Merritt Dr Kirk Moore, Who Went to Jail For Protecting His Patients 18-Aug-2025.

Dr. Kirk Moore upheld the finest ethical standards by helping his patients avoid a treatment he knew to be harmful. For this the government lied to prosecute him, and using standard channels to the current administration did nothing to help.

After that I tuned in a movie I had previously recorded. We only got maybe halfway through before my brother bowed out to have further bed rest, but he by then seemed disinterested, spending what seemed nigh 10 minutes texting with a probable drinking buddy.

I'm rather enjoying it ─ 1999's eXistenZ. I will say nothing further, except that I started finding Jennifer Jason Leigh to be remarkably sexy; and I am surprised that the Wikipedia movie write-up did not seem to mentioned the fact that the video game portal in people's lower spine looks for all the world like an ๐”ž๐”ซ๐”ฒ๐”ฐ, and there is an erotic factor involved as when the lead male character cannot seem to resist starting to perform oral love when Jennifer's character has her bared 'bio-port' exposed to him.

It freaks her out, and he is abjectly apologetic over his loss of control, but I found the scene titillating.

There was another scene where Jennifer was seated / reclining against the very edge of some item of furniture, and we had a full side view of her in her short tight skirt for a good length of time. To me, her legs looked fabulously sculpted ─ my gosh!

So more on the movie tomorrow, in all likelihood.

I maybe had gotten to bed for a nap ahead of noon, and remained there until a little past 1:30 p.m. I had actually managed two blocks of napping in that stretch.

My brother was still home when I rose from the nap, but he soon left to catch a bus so he could engage some social drinking somewhere. He was back by 7 p.m.

I got in just over 1½ hours of backyard sunning, calling it off at 3:48 p.m.

Towards the end of the afternoon I even managed a little exercising in my wife's vacant and overheated bedroom, primarily to work my bad right leg. Honestly, I don't think I am ever going to have proper use of it again. Forget trying to run ─ even long walks are off the books because of not only how slow I am, but because of the jarring, plodding gait that is my lot now.

It is 7:05 p.m., and I am here taking a break to round up a very light supper, and then I will be watching a couple of shows here on my bedside computer so I can enjoy some Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol).

I tuned in Titans ─ episode five ("Together") of the first season. I am liking this series a lot thus far!

My source was this uFLIX.to link.

I suppose the episode ended around 8:20 p.m., and then at 8:23 p.m. my youngest stepson texted me to enquire if I was still up ─ he had some food for me!

I had eaten sparingly (a can of sardines in water, and an apple), so I'll probably add this to that meagre repast.

Naturally, I had a can of beer with Titans.

My second and final show was Prime Suspect ─ the pilot episode of the first season. It was very good ─ I'm happy to now follow the series.

My source was this uFLIX.to link. I'm finding that it can take four or five times of clicking the different play buttons before an actual source is linked to and the show starts.

I'm going to start winding things down now and getting to bed very soon. I had a second can of beer, but I wish to blazes time would quit running away on me so I had time to drink and watch more.

It is 10:05 p.m. right now.
