My 6 a.m. alarm got me up this morning, but I was not to go on the planned grocery shopping when the store a half mile away opened at 8 a.m. I had stupidly dawdled due to being engrossed in activity here at my bedside computer, and that hour was nearly upon me before I had yet readied.
On top of that, it was a bloody bright morning ─ I needed gloomy skies and maybe even rain to feel my most comfortable about venturing out into the public to hobble anywhere.
So the trip was off. But it meant that I would have to do it tomorrow, or else dispense with grocery shopping entirely if I wanted to visit the private liquor store as I had planned for Sunday morning (since I do not have enough beer to get me through to next weekend, and I can no longer dare a weekday outing ─ the world is too busy out there).
I still had a solution, though, for I had seen that my younger brother was quite low on his supply. If he did not make a beer run today, he would assuredly be doing so tomorrow. I just had to ensure that I accompanied him when he made the drive to the government liquor store two miles from here.
I suppose that I could have had some exercise out in the backyard tool shed, but I mistakenly expected that he would be emerging from his bedroom for morning T.V. soon.
He did not do so soon ─ it was maybe 9:45 a.m. before he came forth. I was already downstairs and in full occupation of the T.V. via our Android TV Box with a video selected to play. It was to be the only one we watched.
At nearly 1¾ hours (1:43:47), it had been streamed two days ago to YouTube's Redacted channel: BREAKING! PIPE BOMB SUSPECT BRIAN COLE ARRESTED, FBI COVER-UP GOES NUCLEAR | Redacted News.
My wife seems to have had a full workday, although she did not emerge from her bedroom until around 10 a.m. and not leaving on her fairly long drive until a half hour later. She had blue skies and sunshine for that drive.
As my brother was about to return to his bedroom for further bed rest, I ventured that should he be making a beer run over the course of the weekend, then I would ride along.
And that was to be ─ he was intending the restock following his rest.
I did not dare to nap, but I at least did return to bed clothed and in darkness, resting as deep as I could.
In the interim, we had rain ─ wouldn't you know!
My plan had been to buy four dozen cans of beer, but the parking slots immediately in front of the liquor store were all occupied. My right knee is too unstable to tote 40 pounds of beer the more than doubled distance ─ possibly it was tripled; so I had to settle on just a flat of two dozen Cariboo Malts (7.9% alcohol), and at the checkout on a whim I bought a 750-ml bottle of a Chile wine called Diablo Dark Red (13.5% alcohol).
At least I can now grocery shop tomorrow morning clear of conscience or pressure.
Incidentally, soon after my brother and I were back home, he left again on foot to go social drinking.
I never napped; and neither have I yet eaten aught ─ just two mugs of instant coffee, a Hallowe'en candy, and a small pouch of a nutritional product called BOOM Gluta Shots. I will have a meal after it gets dark. But I have no energy for any exercising. And as I type these words at 4:12 p.m., I think that I just may lie down to rest my eyes.
Perhaps I will do that, taking leave of this post for the present. I will finish it off in the latter evening after I have watched a couple of shows here on my bedside computer and indulged in some drinking.

I watched 2018's Frozen in Love. As my source, I used this OK.ru link.
Lead actress Rachael Leigh Cook was unknown to me, and initially I thought she looked too bookwormish for my liking, but darned if I not only warmed up to her, but I began finding her extremely attractive.
And she can ACT! Wow!
I see from her lengthy credits that I have probably seen her act before, but she just isn't familiar.
I truly enjoyed this movie, even though it never reduced me into a sobbing mess; and I held myself to one can of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol). I could watch it again in good company just because of the excellent acting.
I suppose that the movie ended no later than 8:30 p.m., and as yet my brother was not back to keep Bev company downstairs.
My second can of beer was paced out with Doom Patrol ─ episode 14 ("Penultimate Patrol") of season one. This one felt below par where its effect mattered with me. Yes, it betimes displayed promise, but that promise never materialized.
I watched all but the final seven or eight minutes at this GOOJARA.to link before it crapped out, so I resorted to this RidoMovies.tv link and it did not fail me.
I doubt that it was done ere yet 10:15 p.m., and I do not believe that my brother was yet home.
Or so I believed. I chose to brush my teeth before tuning in a sitcom so I could have a shot of D'Eaubonne V.S.O.P. Brandy. I do the brushing whilst lying upon my bed. Well, early into the lengthy task, I heard him cough downstairs. A peek revealed him to be passed out in his favourite comfy chair, and thus the earlier silence leading me to assume he was not present.
The sitcom was Kevin from Work ─ episode seven ("Secrets from Work") of the only season. It's a good series ─ I don't understand how it died after just one season.
My source was this CineGo.tv link ─ no problem.
The episode probably ended around 11:35 p.m. at most.
As discussed earlier in my post, I plan on the early grocery shopping tomorrow, so I will once more be setting my cellphone alarm for 6 a.m. to give me the required time to adjust for the foray.
I might as well conclude this day's post here at 11:50 p.m. so I can do my best to be to bed by or even before midnight, if possible, but it sure is not likely.
