My 6 a.m. cellphone alarm was unnecessary this morning. I was awake at least as early as 5 a.m., finally giving it up and rising at 5:44 a.m.
I think we had some rain overnight, but may have been spared any over the course of the day.
My early backyard tool shed exercise session was a struggle, for I ache with stiffness. I managed to force out my recent totals on the two sets of pull-ups (3-1 reps) and chin-ups (2-2 reps), but I could not even try to force out a second pull-up in the first set performed between the sides of the child's slide ladder that is my exercising tool for these exercises (the ladder is stretched across some roof rafters). Thus both sets between the ladder's side were a single pull-up, but I held the dead hang of the final pull-up for a 50-count.
Then I tackled the squat work. I believe that I was back in the house as early as 7:45 a.m.
My younger brother never emerged from his bedroom for the morning until a little after 8 a.m., if I am remembering correctly.
As usual, I sat here at my bedside computer until a little past 9 a.m. before going downstairs to watch some morning T.V. with him.
I had what I expected was going to be a revelatory interview for us to watch (via our old T95Q Android 9 TV Box ─ I realize that for a number of past posts I have likely been misidentifying it as a T95X). At nearly 1½ hours (1:27:36), it had been streamed yesterday to Rumble's The Shadoe Davis Show: Feb. 2nd/2026- The Story of Mark & Jannecke Friesen.
Tonight: In February 2025 Mark Friesen...The Grizzly Patriot...was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. This is a progressive brain disorder that damages the frontal and temporal lobes, causing significant changes in personality, behavior and language. There is currently no cure for this disorder with symptoms worsening over time and no known treatments that can stop or slow its progression. Jannecke joins me tonight to tell their story.
I have been aware of Mark Friesen since early 2021, thanks to Odessa Orlewicz's podcast. But it's as if my brother's daily drunkenness has damaged his brain such that initially he was clueless what we were watching. In fact, he was annoyed about having the interview on because it was boring to him ─ he had no idea why this woman being interviewed should matter to him.
I explained who she was, but I saw no sign of recognition of the name Mark Friesen nor "the Grizzly Patriot". Maybe my brother remembered and just didn't want to give me the satisfaction of knowing he had forgotten, so he remained impassive.
At least once he expressed that I needed to tune in something else, and at times he would lift his hand dismissively, or express his disinterest with loud exhalations, as well as shifting about as if he was going to get up in a huff and leave.
In sheer contempt of my brother, but keeping it to myself, I finally cancelled out of the video after about 38 minutes because my brother was spoiling the interview for me.
Truly, all that is important to him in his life anymore are pro football and hockey games, and drinking with various drinking buddies every afternoon at different venues before he buses back home to keep drinking with Bev while watching whatever she has playing on my fairly big screen T.V. that she usurps from the time she rises midday until she goes to bed at night.
I have to watch shows here on my bedside computer, shut up in my wee bedroom like I'm just some mere tenant. So yeah, I was bummed mightily, but I said naught. And in the latter afternoon, I finished watching the interview here on my computer.
Anyway, returning to morning T.V., after tuning out the interview, I tuned in the episode I mentioned yesterday that I wanted to see of This Is Us ─ episode 12 ("Songbird Road: Part Two") of season three.
It was extremely good, but didn't quite turn out as I had hoped ─ I wanted the long lost uncle to accompany the Pearson's back to their home and be a part of the family, although I do recognize that at this point in his life he is likely a lost cause. Still, unless he suicides, I suspect there will be more of him in future episodes.
Next we watched Frasier (2023) ─ episode eight ("The B Story") of the first season. I actually had it downloaded, but I no longer recall my source. If you just wish to watch it, though, one source is this 1Movies.bz link.
We finished up with a movie, but had to postpone most of it because my brother wanted further bed rest.
I had eaten earlier, so I think I was to bed for my nap by 12:30 p.m., and was down for a little over an hour. Meantime, my brother went off on the four-mile round trip drive for beer for himself and wine for Bev; and then he had left again on foot for a bus to take him social drinking. He was back again a little ahead of 7 p.m.
Incidentally, my wife had a full workday at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, so she was out of her bedroom this morning a little before 9:30 a.m., and after showering and such, she was off on her fairly long drive very soon past 10 a.m.
I used her vacant bedroom for some light exercising in the mid-afternoon. Then early into the start of evening, I had a light supper ─ my day's second and final meal.
Right now it is 7:20 p.m. and time for a blogging break so I can drink a couple of cans of Cariboo Strong malt (7% alcohol) while watching a couple of shows here on my bedside computer.
🔵🔵🔵
My first beer was shared with an episode of FBI ─ episode 15 ("Acolyte") of season seven. My source was this TVSeries.video link.
The opening scene was extremely unsettling. I cannot understand how monstrous some serial killers can be. It's good that the killer was snuffed, but it's unfortunate that he never saw it coming.
The episode was done before quite 8:20 p.m.
I followed that with a second beer and FBI: Most Wanted ─ episode 10 ("Bonne Terre") of season five. This time my source was a 1Movies.bz link.
Darned good episode! I was snuffling with emotion by the closing scenes.
The episode finished by 9:14 p.m., if I am remembering correctly.
And as has become usual, I finished my entertainment with a sitcom while enjoying a glass tumbler (about eight ounces) of Sommet Rouge wine (12% alcohol). I watched Whitney ─ episode five ("Three's Company") of season two. My source was this CineGo.tv link.
The opening scene featuring Hope Solo in a tight red dress was quite a boost ─ Whitney Cummings looked startlingly underdeveloped ... except for her bosoms, of course. Hope was an Amazon!
I enjoyed the closing scene featuring "Roxanne" seeking to stay for the night at the apartment of "Mark" because she was letting "Lily" have their apartment to enjoy a dalliance with her new love interest. Rhea Seehorn as "Roxanne" looks pretty darned hot to me ─ I'd love to get 'choked out' by her, I think. (You'd have to watch that ending to know what that is all about.)
A little past 10:35 p.m. I realized that my wife seemed to have arrived home. Typically, she has said nothing to me the couple of times that she has passed by my open bedroom doorway.
Right now it is 10:49 p.m., so I am slowly going to start closing down whatever I have open or undone on this computer, and then get to bed. I should have no trouble doing so well before 11:30 p.m.
