Walls of Silence

The image is obviously an oldie, but still makes total sense.

Well, I couldn't handle just lying in bed until my 6 a.m. alarm sounded. I tried, but after rising around 5 a.m. to see if using the toilet would bring me ease to gain some further sleep, when I was still awake after 5:30 a.m. it seemed a senseless waste of time.

Despite the head start, it was almost 8 a.m. before I got on my way to do a little grocery shopping at No Frills a half mile away. At least it seems to have rained much of the night and was still doing so.

I was so disheartened and discouraged earlier to discover online that my wife had taken $90 of my money from our joint account ─ the account did previously have something under $100 in it, but no amount of $20 or more is ever safe from her predation.

I am keenly worried about how I am going to manage this and the next six months thereafter, for I just do not have the income to meet the bills that are ahead. My face is pinched up in pain over this very thing as I type these words.

Anyway, I did the shopping, but not with as much liberality as I otherwise would have; and I arrived back home to find my brother downstairs watching T.V. news.

I put away my purchases and then came upstairs here to my bedside computer to spend some time before joining him just past 9 a.m., and he was soon to turn the T.V. over to me so that I could begin operation of our old T95X Android 9 TV Box.

The first video I tuned in was two hours long (2:01:59) and had been streamed January 30 to Rumble's Lara Logan channel: HONEST MEDICINE with Dr. Stella Immanuel | Ep 60 | Going Rogue with Lara Logan.

Lara sits down with the formidable Dr. Stella Immanuel, a physician and deliverance minister. Dr. Immanuel discusses her experience on the frontlines during the pandemic, advocating for hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, and the backlash she faced from medical boards and colleagues. The conversation delves into topics ranging from spiritual influences in society, challenges facing modern Christianity, and her criticism of mainstream public health policies to natural medicine, cancer care, and preparedness for future crises.

But by about the 38-minute mark the heavy religious discussion got to be too much for my brother, so I tuned out. I was okay with doing so because I didn't wish to devote the entire morning to just that long video.

I next tuned in The Graham Norton Show ─ episode seven of season or series 33.

We finished up with a horror movie, but never quite got through the first hour before my brother removed himself for further bed rest. I expect that we will complete watching the movie tomorrow, so I will report on it when we do.

I had eaten my day's first meal earlier, so I was probably back to bed for a nap by ... well, I am sure it was not too deep into the noon hour.

I was to rise again a little before my wife finally emerged from her bedroom, for she only had to work the latter part of today, and left here not too very long after 3 p.m.

I never heard her arrive home last night, so she most likely was partying, and thus the taking of my $90.

When she did come home last night, she left a large tilapia in the kitchen sink. This afternoon she got busy preparing it for the oven; and while she did so, I texted her that she had best be careful with her money, because I was not in any position to bail her out of any emergencies she might create for herself.

After she saw the text, she did approach me and ─ had I $40 on hand to return to her for the exchange (I only had $20) ─ she would have given me a $100 bill. So she promised to pay me $60 tonight.

All very well, but I don't think she fathomed that my 'poverty' is such that I am in dire need, and will be for the next half year.

After my wife left for work at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, I was anon to use her vacant bedroom for some light exercising.

A while after that, I had a light supper ─ my second and final meal of the day ─ that involved some of that deliciously-prepared tilapia.

And then I was free to start doing a little drinking while watching some T.V. here on my bedside computer.

First off was an excellent Titans ─ episode four ("Aqualad") of season two. My source was this CineGo.tv link. A can of Cariboo Strong malt (7% alcohol) accompanied the feature.

My emotions got stoked towards the end when "Donna" (Wondergirl) called to "Garth" (Aqualad) as he was walking away from her at her private jet at the airport because she persisted in declaring that she had to leave for her home island ─ when she tearfully ran to him in full acceptance of everything that they were to one another, that was my descent into some waterworks.

The episode ended around 7:42 p.m. at most, by which time my brother seemed newly home from his earlier bus trip to go social drinking.

My next show (and beer) were done by 8:48 p.m.

I watched Prime Suspect ─ episode 11 ("The Great Wall of Silence") of the only season. My source was this OK.ru link that I did have some buffering or similar issue with, so this is not an unqualified recommendation.

It was a good show, for sure; but it never affected me emotionally. I need to be touched.

The second beer was not sufficient for the buzz I wanted, but neither am I desirous of several overnight needs to respond to urinary urgency. And so rather than more beer, on to a glass tumbler (at least eight ounces) of Sommet Rouge wine (12% alcohol) and a sitcom.

As much as I despise the unrealistic Gay-seeming Hindu nerd, I tuned in Aliens in America ─ episode three ("Rocket Club") of (thankfully) the only season. My source was this 1Movies.bz link.

What a stupid premise for a series ─ how did it even last a full season? I am only watching it because eventually (episode 15) actress Diana Bang will have one of her earliest two acting debut appearances (2008).

I suppose the episode must have ended around 9:30 p.m.

While I was early into brushing my teeth afterwards, I heard my wife arrive home. By the time I was done, she was downstairs busy in the kitchen for some while.

Then just ahead of 10:40 p.m. she came upstairs to her bedroom and discussed with me her fish, pleased it had turned out so well in her absence ─ she had gone to work before it was cooked, and had phoned me just after 4 p.m. to turn off the oven whilst leaving the fish within to cook with the residual heat.

Excellent job!

It appears that I am going to be making it to bed comfortably before 11:15 p.m. My cellphone alarm will be set for 6 a.m.

Incidentally, my wife never offered me the $60, but that is okay. It will not bail me out of what is coming.
